I travel a lot for business and have stayed in a lot of Holiday Inn's. Most of them are of a good standard but this one is truly terrible. Upon arrival first impressions are quite good the reception and bar area look modern and clean. Once however you make your way towards the rooms you notice the drab shabby corridors and start to feel there might be a problem. I was booked to stay here for the full week on business and my first night was the night from Hell. The hotel seems to at some point have added what can best be described as a large wooden shed to the back of it containing additional rooms. I was unfortunate enough to get one of these. The room furnishings looked as though they had not been updated in at least 30 years, The bed was uncomfortable but by far and away the worst problem is the noise. The walls are paper thin you can here everything in the rooms next door to you. The wooden floors above creak loudly all night. The wooden Corridors outside do exactly the same and if that's not enough you are next to a car park with single glazed windows. The noise all night was unbearable. I honestly think I would have had a better sleep in my car. The next morning I made a complaint to reception and asked if there would be any charge to cancel the remainder of my stay. I was told there would be a £50 charge to cancel and leave. My experience was that bad that I decided to pay the £50 so I packed up my luggage and headed back to reception. I was then told that actually they had made a mistake and because it was prepaid I couldn't leave. I was offered a different room in the main building of the hotel which I had to take due to not being allowed to leave. This new room was even more shabby and dated than the first but at least it was quieter as the building was made of bricks rather than wood. It was however not clean as I found empty contact lens cases on the floor and women's hair in the bathroom. I will never go back to this hotel and I advise anyone else to do the same.

Tidy hotel just off the motorway, stayed for a week for a conference in Greenham Common. Nice rooms and decent restaurant, staff helpful and accommodating. Price ok, average stay. Pubs and eateries in the area to walk to.

The staff unhelpful, I put a review on here it got submitted now the hotel have removed it. This hotel is the worst customer service I have ever. Very dated hotel would never stay there again. Plenty of hotels in Reading that have better services

This hotel has a wonderful newly refurbished reception, restaurant, bar and conference facilities and amazing staff to go with it. They went above and beyond with anything that myself or the other delegates required as well as really adding some great personal touches throughout our stay.

3 of us stayed there for 2 nights. It was basic and a bit worn, but suitable for purpose. As you expect from a cheap hotel. Breakfast was good and we got it included in our price. Access to swimming pool which I thought was fabulous. Only a 30 min drive to Legoland and train station close by into central London. Would stay here again.

Rooms are really dated and in need of repair. Then at breakfast we were rudely told 'use the other coffee machine' gesturing towards another machine across the room. Then halfway through making a latte at the we got told 'use the other machine' as this staff member huffed about overflowing water, making us abandon the half filled latte and queue again at the machine we were first at. Rude staff!

Unfortunately this 'hotel' is in need of refurbishment, better cleaning and more professional restaurant staff. For the premium price paid you would at least expect a smile at breakfast, or the shower to be clean or the paint to not be peeling from the ceiling or for the aircon to not sound like a washing machine on full spin and for the aircon unit to be free from dust! Unfortunately I have no positive comments for this hotel aside from thanks for the mars bar and free pen! The price is way too high for the standard of service and condition of the rooms.

Stayed here for a couple of nights and used it as a base only. In a family room which was fine size wise. The place was just a bit tired and needing an upgrade. Carpets stained, shower not great, dated decor and the finisher was the air con being knackered which was a pain. Ended up getting a fan from reception at 3 in the morning - sadly didn't get fixed next day. On a plus note that breakfast was decent, any staff I spoke to were pleasant and it's a decent location.

Rooms are small and littered with faults. From showers that spray all over the bathroom to dated and damaged carpets, to mouldy shower curtains. Clearly a hotel in desperate need of a refresh. But the main issue here lies with the poor customer service. When my team asked for the parking gate to be opened to enter the premise they were ignored and left to wait outside, along with a number of other vehicles trying to exit. When approached to enquire what the delay was, staff were rude and had no sense of urgency. Trainee staff were particular disrespectful. Totally unacceptable. We stay in hotels around the country every week however this has been the worse experience by far. A shame as the receptionist on check-in was very good.

We stayed here three nights while visiting England from the United States. We had a car so we were able to make day trips to Stonehenge, the Cotswolds, Windsor Castle and this was a relatively inexpensive and convenient place to stay. It is easy to get to the hotel from the highway. The front lobby area, bar and restaurant area are new and attractive and the staff was friendly. Getting to our room was not so great - our room was far away so we had to go down three different corridors, and past the laundry room to get to our room. The hallway is shabby. The carpet looks like it has water stains everywhere, but the room was nice. We wee able to sleep without hearing too much from other rooms. And the breakfast was very nice! It also has a pool and hot tub, which the kids enjoyed. My wife and I also used the gym there. It has a lot going for it. Now just upgrade the hallways!
