I stay here regularly and find this hotel modern, comfortable and welcoming. Rooms are generally smart, clean and well maintained. The food menu has good variety and does change occasionally. Breakfast is very much standard but passable. Which brings me to the drinks prices. Hotel drinks aren’t cheap. But how is a pint of Diet Coke considerably more than a pint of lager/cider? This penalises those not wanting to drink alcohol. Please get coke etc on pump so you don’t have to charge for two bottles. Or be more reasonable with the price for a small bottle of coke! It’s the little things that stand out sometimes and this is where this Hotel is on occasion missing the mark
My room was very comfortable (light and bright), well appointed, and quiet. The lobby and hallways are equally impressive. There is no executive lounge here, which is a shame. Breakfast was very uninspired. If omelettes are an option, I was not told so. It seems strange that the Hilton Garden Inn (Heathrow), which is supposedly a step down from a normal Hilton, has an omelette station but a Hilton does not, or does not clearly offer eggs cooked to order as an option. And wait staff were too busy to be asked. The other options were limited as well. While some people may like a pancake machine to make their own pancakes, I find this to be rather more suitable to a budget motel than a Hilton.
Please put up a sign somewhere off the main road. It is located in a new housing estate. The sat nav was confused as the road is new. The hotel needs signage badly. The positive is the room, very comfy bed, slept like a log. Breakfast was fine, staff friendly.
We have stayed here a few times this year and love it! We just wanted to swim, chill and wind down. We done all of this and thoroughly enjoyed it. We would like to thank the lovely front desk staff we have got to know and who help to make our stay so special, A BIG thank you to Natalia and Rose. A credit to the Hilton group! I highly recommend this Hotel. 👍😄👍
Booked 2 rooms, one for me and my wife and a second for my son. This is a great looking hotel, very modern and our first impression was excellent. Dealt with quickly and efficiently by reception with the added bonus that both rooms were upgraded. I actually had cause to ring reception after my stay because I had left some items in the room safe which included my passport and the lady I spoke to was excellent arranging for the items to be sent the next day. The rooms we got were very comfortable, clean and in line with what you would expect at a Hilton. Where the hotel seems to struggle is in the dining area. At breakfast on both days we were just shown to the table - no effort taken to explain the buffet and any other options. Paper napkins, cheap cutlery, sticky tables and just something I have not experienced in stays at other Hiltons. A simple request for vegetarian sausages (normally standard fare these days) was not fulfilled and whilst there seemed to be a lot of staff not sure many had been trained effectively in customer care. The quality of the breakfast food was satisfactory. Our impressions were supported on our second night in the bar when we saw one couple wait over an hour for their meal and then heard a table in the restaurant complaining bitterly of how long they had waited.
I booked 1 night in the hilton thinking i could wind down and have a relaxing time. That night there was a wedding party in another part of the building that was really Noisy untill 01.00. I rang reception and she offered me another Room it was midnight and i was in bed at that time unable to sleep because of the load music.decided to stay in the room as she said the party finishes in half an hours time.I could not believe that i could not get a good nights sleep in a hilton hotel. This was my first time in a hilton hotel and my last. Everthing else in the hotel was good but for me one of the most important things is relaxing and after not getting any sleep its hard to relax.
Hotel personnel are very friendly and ever ready to respond to your requests. The rooms are comfy and well maintained. The gym is world class and I enjoyed every bit of my time there. Breakfast here is breathtakingly pleasant, kudos to the chefs.
It’s a nice change for the better that some Hilton’s now allow dogs to stay over. They’re not allowed anywhere except your room mind you which is a bit antiquated in this day and age but still it’s a move in the right direction.
Very much a last minute stay for a night here with the family due to a medical emergency - Hilton were very quick to arrange interconnected rooms for my family (2 kids under 7) at short notice. The hotel itself sits on an industrial park on the edge of Reading. Rooms were as I expect with Hilton with comfy bed and pillows and were nice and clean. We had dinner in the restaurant and service was friendly and food pretty much as expected - not spectacular but up to standard. Breakfast as buffet style and we sat in the bar area next to the restaurant as the restaurant was busy - this was not a problem. Breakfast was varied and of good quality. Later we used the hotel leisure facilities which were quite busy. Pool is not huge and for young kids is quite deep at around 1.25m. Overall, probably not a hotel for a romantic break but perfectly suitable for either work or as a base or an overnight stay.
I come to Reading between 2 - 4 times a quarter. When I come down I try to book this hotel - normally in advance as the prices are ridiculous sometimes. I always have a good night sleep for being away. Lets face it, it's not your own bed. The Wifi is great - never had any issues with this. The rooms have always been clean and stocked up. Although one time I did have someones used soap still in the shower, but the maid came and sorted that straight away when I reported it. The breakfast is great. Lots of choice and always offered a drink of orange juice and tea or coffee at the table. It also has car parking which is free for residents which is also a bonus. I have to choose between this hotel and the Madjeski Hotel as we have corperate rates there. However, the Wifi is rubbish, the breakfast selection isn't great, 90% of the time I never get asked if I want tea or coffee or toast also the rooms need renovating. So I always choose the Hilton - it's a bit like premier inn, you know what to expect and the food at breakfast is good.
