Best location! Great helpful staff. Good breakfast.
The building has a lot of character, from the rooms, to the lobby to the restaurant.
A beautiful and comfortable boutique hotel. I didn't realize until I arrived that it is (or practically is) a part of Bryggen. It's like a house museum with luxurious modern amenities. I spent 2 nights there. 1 at the beginning and 1 at the end of my trip to Norway. It was the perfect place to begin and end a hiking trip, especially with long soaks in their bathtubs that are impossible to find in other hotels in Scandinavia. And w/ its location, most of the highlights of Bergen are just outside your doorstep. The only issues with the hotel were not necessarily regular occurrences and may have been unique to my stay. There was an issue with the fire alarm system and it went off twice on my 1st night there. Trying to figure out what was happening and where the fire exits were when I was jetlagged at 2 o'clock in the morning was challenging. I think it could have been handled by staff both at the time, and in the AM more gracefully. The other was the restaurant staff. The food at the restaurant was superb. I probably arrived at the restaurant without a reservation on a very slow night about an hour/45 minutes before closing. The woman who seemed to be in charge had no problems letting me know that I was arriving late. A couple arrived about 10-15 minutes before closing looking for dinner. We can debate whether the couple should have known better but I thought it was poor service of the woman in charge to say it was closed. So this couple had to essentially fight for their dinner
One of the most unique hotels I have ever stayed in and in an excellent location!!! Each room looks and is designed differently. Breakfast buffet was perfect. Excellent value. Would recommend to anyone I know and would love to visit again.
Excellent location. Great selection at breakfast. The room was so quaint. Loved staying in a place rich with history.
Good staff. Close to everything. Will stay there again
