Cherokee private cabin in Riverside Resort
Summary:
Discover the perfect Ocoee hideaway at Welcome Valley Village, a Timberroot Rustic Retreat. Tucked away on a quiet wooded hilltop, Cherokee Ridge offers a serene escape from the everyday.
Cherokee Ridge comfortably sleeps 5-6 guests between the main bedroom, sleeping loft, and convertible sofa bed. The cabin has a full kitchen, including a dishwasher, fireplace, indoor Jacuzzi tub, and TV with Roku streaming device. Outside you'll find a private fire pit and grill surrounded by forest.
The Space:
Welcome Valley Village consists of six beautiful cabins and three glamping wagons on a 17-acre gated property, surrounded by lush forests, winding trails, and over 900 feet of private riverfront on the world-famous Ocoee River. This property is owned and operated by Timberroot, a small, family-owned business that specializes in creating rustic spaces that allow you to relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature.
Whether it's a family vacation, destination wedding, romantic weekend getaway, or a work trip, Cherokee Ridge at Welcome Valley Village is equipped with everything you need to make the most of your time on the Ocoee River.
Set away from the river, this 800-square-foot, two-story log cabin may look rustic, but it contains all the comforts you can imagine.
The large front porch with ceiling fans and four cedar log rocking chairs provides the perfect spot for bird watching, enjoying the sunset, or relaxing.
Inside, the all-wood cabin has an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings. You'll enjoy quiet nights curled beside the mountain stone fireplace or soaking in the sunken jacuzzi tub built into its hearth. The great room also has a convertible sofa and a Roku-equipped TV. Free wifi is available throughout the cabin.
The cabin is fully equipped with dishes, linens, toiletries, and everything you need to enjoy your time on the Ocoee. Off the great room is the large bath with double vanity and shower and the fully furnished kitchen with a dishwasher. There is also a private Queen bedroom on the ground floor.
Up the stairs, you'll find the full-height loft, with two built-in beds (a queen and twin) and plenty of storage. From bed, you'll have views of the surrounding forest.
A short three-minute walk down the wooded path will take you to the riverside deck and pavilion, perfect for swimming, fishing, tubing, or simply enjoying the view. Then spend the evening's fireside roasting marshmallows at your private fire pit.
We are pleased to allow dogs at Cherokee Ridge, under specific terms and conditions. See our house rules section for more information.
Guest Access:
Your cabin features a lock box at the door for easy, self-service check-in. Your code to the box will arrive as check-in approaches.
Beyond your cabin, Welcome Valley Village is yours to explore. Wander 17 forested acres bordered by the Ocoee River along beautifully landscaped trails and shared common areas. Head down to the riverside dock to swim, fish, or drop in a tube, SUP, or kayak. The Riverside Pavilion is open to all guests except when reserved for private events. We just ask that you be respectful of fellow guests as you enjoy the property.
The Neighborhood:
Welcome Valley Village sits in the heart of Tennessee's Ocoee River corridor — where the Cherokee National Forest meets world-class whitewater. The Ocoee River hosted the 1996 Olympic kayak and canoe events, and today it's one of the best places in the Southeast for rafting, tubing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Beyond the river, there's no shortage of adventure. Hike to Benton Falls, mountain bike the Tanasi and Chilhowee trail systems, go horseback riding through the forest, or soar through the treetops on a zipline course. Parksville Lake is just down the road for swimming, fishing, and boating. For a scenic day trip, drive the Cherohala Skyway or head to the charming twin towns of Copperhill, TN and McCaysville, GA. Chattanooga and its attractions — Rock City, Ruby Falls, the Tennessee Aquarium — are about an hour away. Out here, the adventure doesn't stop at the front door.
Getting Around:
Welcome Valley Village is located approximately three miles from the town of Benton, Tennessee, and 20 minutes from Cleveland, Tennessee. The property is ideally situated to reach dozens of Tennessee attractions by car.
We're roughly 20 minutes from the Ocoee Whitewater Center, 50 minutes from Chattanooga, 90 minutes from Knoxville, and 2 hours from both entrances to Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge.
Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport is just under an hour from Welcome Valley Village. You can typically reach either Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) or Nashville International Airport (BNA) in under three hours.

It was a great cabin for my granddaughters 7th birthday girls trip to Ocoee Riverside farm. 3 adult women and 2 children. The location was perfect. Definitely looks like a nice place for outdoor fun but it was chilly. Easy to book and check in/out.

Although the cabin was spacious for our 5 member family and 3 dogs, the floors were filthy and some of the towels had poop stricts on them. Some towels were very old to the point that when using them, they fell apart. They staff was wonderful and easy to reach, unfortunately not to our standards in terms of cleanliness for our three small children.

Easy check in & checkout. Very clean. Only one couch for livingroom furniture so if you plan on kicking back in your cabin it's not accommodating. Not asy access into the river but there is a beach near by. Quiet and surrounded by woods. Had a very relaxing time

Would be great for reunions
Overall the property was very nice, we were disappointed to find construction of additional cabins underway in front of our cabin for the duration of our trip. The sound of a nail gun took away from the serenity of the location. It isn't peak season though and I understand that the owner has to be able to expand the operation when contractors are available, but some communication and/or accommodation to renters regarding the work would be an improvement. The property is clean and very nice, the cabins are pretty close together for our taste. The pavilion at the river was a beautiful spot. The property would be incredible for a family reunion where all cabins were rented by a common group. There are many activities for everyone to take part in.

Weekend Escape
Cherokee Ridge reminded me of a life-sized playhouse with more amenities. Our son loved the loft bedroom. It was like sleeping in a treehouse. Short walk to the river pavilion with rockers, swings, and Adirondack chairs. Enjoyed S’mores at the fire pit. The sound of rain on a metal roof was so relaxing. The cabin was decorated for Christmas with just the right touches. Several local places to eat nearby. Definitely recommend eating at GG’s Diner and Ocoee Dam Deli.
