The Fern Citadel Hotel

Before booking the hotel, I had read a few negative reviews about it online. I went ahead and booked and decided to give it a chance. Bad decision. This hotel, from the entrance itself, is filthy and not maintained. The front desk, although not rude, isn't courteous either. They just seem indifferent to travellers; I don't think any of them have had any training in the hospitality industry although they are working in a hotel. There's a filthy towel at the hotel entrance, which doubles up as a door mattress. The reception area is good but there's no help of any sort from those manning the desks or the phones. You make your way to the rooms (ours was 406). For the price the hotel charges for an executive room, it fails to live up to any decent standards. Simple things and facilities are not present -- laundry bags, dressing gown, coffee/tea stirrers -- objects that are present in every executive business hotel room. The room itself is not spacious, very crammed -- we were charged for an extra bed/mattress since there were three of us (my father, me, and my younger brother) -- and even after multiple requests and verifying the booking charge for the extra bed, we were not provided one. The reception said their executive rooms only had two beds, so why the hotel charged us for an extra mattress when they couldn't fit it into the room is a mystery to me. Just very basic complimentary toiletries in the bathroom, which was disgustingly filthy -- the walls are stained and appear to have not been cleaned/scrubbed for months. Service is a joke -- you have to ask for every single thing, be it clean towels or bottles of water, which, ideally, should be replenished each day. Wifi is another joke. It's complimentary but barely works. The reception couldn't sort it out over the two days of our stay. The complimentary breakfast buffet was decent until I saw a cockroach in a basket on the bread station. The hotel doesn't take hygiene seriously at all. The only positive is the location -- it is centrally situated and all the major locations/roads are quite close. I wouldn't recommend this place to any one and will definitely not be coming back. It's not value for money at all -- there are better, cleaner hotels available in the city at the same price. Great potential but the owners seem to be least bothered about either hospitality or making their guests happy.

Good place for business travellers. Good breakfast menu. Dinner good for Indian food lovers..A bit spicy. Rooftop has a place for bar lovers. Rooms not very great. Restaurant staff will cater to your diet.

located near a flyover in a congested area. amenities hardly available. wi-fi doesn't work. self service hotel it seems..luggage guests are expected to carry in and out of the room on own.... not a good choice...

The hotel is located 35km from airport and is in Majestic area which is center of the city. Locality - the area where hotel is located is absolutely chaotic and full of traffic jam. Leave apart a peaceful walk after dinner, it will be difficult to even cross the road to go opposite side. On plus side UB city, Indiranagar, Brigade Road, MG road, Lalbagh, Commercial street etc are within 7 km distance. Rooms - we had booked 2 deluxe rooms for 3 nights of which 1 was upgraded to suite since they had no availability of deluxe room. The other room which was alloted to us had several problems like shower not workings, mini fridge not working, extremely bad lightening conditions, the position of AC duct on your head etc. When we raised this issue with night manager he even didn't bother to come to room and had sent a staff who told us that he is 2 months old and can't do much about it. Ultimately nothing got fixed. On second night when AC stopped working we were shifted to other room at 12.30 midnight. Basic toiletries were provided in bathroom but all the bathroom fittings were worn out. Food -breakfast buffet and dinner buffet had good spread with live counters and tasted good. We were treated well with Restaurant staff specially Sumanth. Gym and Swimming pool were not operational. The only reason we had booked this hotel because we had good experience with other Fern properties. I would have rated Trip advisor rating as 1 star however, rating as 3 as GM Sarat Das was kind and empathetic towards our complaint. He also compensated us with complimentary dinner. Overall - this hotel is good for business purpos but not ideal for family vacations in current state. However under leadership of Sarat management seem to be committed for course correction.

All the restaurant staff is so cooperative but some issues with room service staff. No clean bedsheets and daily same has been put on bed .for me it's first time to stay in hotel and in 15 days I injoy a lot in hotel

I had done advance booking for this hotel through yatra .Com . After a 12 hr hectic bus journey I entered the hotel at 7.30 am. They had no rooms. Staff is least bothered, with a casual attitude. Worst check in . Had to wait for 40 mins despite doing advance booking. The manager doesn't know the value of a customer. Especially people like me who travel 120 days a year on business trips, this hotel is a shame on the industry.

The room was very clean and specious, it had everything that i needed and more. The food was good too, it was a very comfortable stay. room interior was good. Staf service and the people were good. Overall it was good, management was nice All basic amenities are nearby, just 10 minutes distance from kempegowda bus stand and railwaystation.

As a first timer in Bangalore but not in India, the experience I got here in Citadel I can never forget. Starting from the security who always wants to make sure a guest is satisfy first before anything. The drivers are so cooperating and do treat a guest the way he/she wish to be treated. They always report on time as needed by the guest. I think in the reception and the restaurant I built friendship to many I know. But there is still more to be done to improve the service delivery. One will request for one particular thing and it will take him/her ours to get it, which is not good for service delivery. All of the people are very welcoming and hospitable. Mr. Sarat Das, always make sure every guest is treated like a god by doing he could, thank you for your efforts.

General Manager (Sarat Das) is very listener to customer needs, and Manohar Nanjundaiah Director of Sales and Marketing, is very kind to customer, and these two guys makes the living life of cidatel be peaceful and communicable Citadel hotel is nice place for stay Fern Citadel Hotel deserve to be 5star hotel

As a first time international visitor to Bengaluru for a two month stay, Citadel hotel has surely made my stay in India and specifically Bengaluru an experience to always look forward to for a repeat visit and stay at this hotel. The entire Staff is not only welcoming but also makes you feel at home and part of them in every way, thanks to their warm, friendly and understanding General Manager Mr Sarat Das, always ready and willing to meet and adjust to your requests with a professional touch. From their reliable shuttle services, room service, excellent buffet for vegetarians & non vegetarians that caters for international clientele, clean ,spacious ,well supplied and maintained ac rooms which have excellent views of the surrounding busy environment all in the silence of soundproof windows. Being a long term boarder its always been a good place to come back to after a long busy day, always assured of the security of my valuables and clean laundry. The ever busy meeting halls and dinner with unnoticeable interference to the boarding guests whose rooms are ideally shielded from the hustle and bustles of the daily on goings within the hotel is a true testimony of the hotels excellence and dedication in ensuring the comfort of all its guest is a top priority. I recommend anyone seeking to experience a homely environment while engaging in their daily busy schedules in Bengaluru to stay at The Fern Citadel Hotel
