Upscale, well maintained resort. We had a one bedroom in the middle building; top floor so view of the pools and ocean were wonderful. Nice living room; well supplied kitchen; very comfy bed. Staff all very nice and helpful, especially front desk and concierge (Amy and Elias). Grounds are beautiful. FYI - there are no elevators so be prepared to walk up and down steps. FYI 2 - food at the pool should be much better - chicken fingers were obviously frozen and overcooked; burrito was just so-so; drinks were very weak; had little alcohol.

We shared a 2BR with another couple - overlooking the ocean with fantastic views. Great balcony - spent many mornings and evenings sharing snacks and drinks! Loved the piers for sunbathing and swimming, plus an excursion that picked us up right from our own dock! The pools were great and loved the swim up bar in the main pool, waiter service everywhere made food and drinks easy. Ate at Rain once and loved it! Rented a golf cart and found good meals and drinks nearby at Truck Stop, Crocs, and many places in town (favorite was Palapas). The kitchen was perfect for breakfast in the condo and storage of two cases of Belikin we bought from the distributor. We bought snacks at the onsite grocery and bought liquor at the airport - which made a little easier on the wallet. The free laundry service was awesome - left with no dirty clothes! Easy check in, check out, and the maid service was terrific. Highly recommend!

We rented a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo with another couple who are good friends. Check in was quick and smooth and we were shown to our condo immediately. Our condo was an ocean view on the second floor pretty much in the center of the property. Our balcony looked straight out over the pool at the ocean as promised. Both bedrooms had private bathrooms. We found the beds to be acceptably comfortable. It would have been nice if each bedroom had a safe but I suppose if you are willing to share a condo with somebody you should be comfortable enough sharing a safe. The resort offers free laundry service. All you had to do was leave your dirty clothes on the bathroom floor and they would launder them for free! The condo had a full kitchen and full size fridge. There is a small grocery store on the hotel property and the prices were similar to stores in San Pedro, just not as much of a selection. The beach is not swimmable because of the seagrass but all of the beaches on Ambergris Caye seemed to be this way. If you wanted to get in the water the pool was very nice We rented a golf cart from the resort. It was a little pricier than some of the places in town but it seemed well maintained and came with a free tank of gas which the town ones did not. We ate at the Rain restaurant once and it was tasty, just a bit pricey. There are plenty of other bars and restaurants very close to the resort. If you plan on making your own drinks in your kitchen stock up on your alcohol at the duty free shop when you land in Belize City. The booze in the duty free was priced similar to the United States but once you are on Ambergris Caye you will pay more than $50 USD for a liter of Bacardi or Jack Daniels. I would plan on making my own drinks at the resort because from what I saw the drinks at the pool bar were small and most were $9 USD. We bought fruit juice and soda at the onsite grocery store and used our duty free booze to make our own drinks for the beach in our bubba mugs. Overall this was a good stay and if I returned to Ambergris Caye I would stay here again,.

Everything about Grand Caribe is great! The staff in main office, concierge, wait staff, ladies that cleaned our condo daily were all so accommodating. The restaurants: never a bad meal (we had 14 in our group of friends). Our condos were beautiful and the pool area, beach and pier were so relaxing to simply hang out. Grocery store is a bit pricey (that's the only downfall).

Truly an amazing Resort property in paradise. We've traveled here as a couple and with with our family and enjoyed both trips equally. In order to ensure your experience is as expected, I highly recommend you thoroughly review and understand accommodations/views classification. Much of the resort has no ocean view or peekaboo views.

This place is absolutely beautiful. The grounds and pools are meticulously maintained and the rooms and the views are amazing. The staff are wonderful as well. Why only a “3”: - the pool bar is small, dark and generally unappealing. - you have to sign TWO VERSIONS of PAPER bills every time to get something from pool bar (they have iPads) - you have to go all the way to the lobby to get/give back pool towels - hot tubs are ridiculously small (2 people have to squeeze ) - concierge books tours for you but doesn’t tell you when they’re cancelled (and you have to remind them to remove from your bill) - Construction happening 6 or 7 days a week beginning at 6:30 - can’t swim in ocean because of too much sea grass

You won't be disappointed in the Grand Caribe. The rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed. They're very quiet, not being able to hear other guests conversations. Maid service comes daily. We had TV's in almost every room, which unfortunately we watched more TV than usual because of the cold, windy days. The pool area is large, with great lounge chairs. There's a pier to swim from and also get picked up for the water taxi or fishing. There are rentals of snorkel equipment, paddle boards etc, that looked in good condition. (We didn't actual rent anything.) There are several chairs that line the beach. There's ample wait staff if you want a drink from the pool bar, which is expensive compared to a lot of the island. There's a convenience store on the premises which we used to purchase our water. They have a good selection of items. We never cooked once in the room, but had everything we needed should we've wanted to. Just no seasonings. They offer free laundry service, which we took advantage of once and was great. Cons: 2 miles from town. You could walk it, but at night you need reflective gear for safety as the golf carts go whizzing by and their headlamps aren't very bright. You have to pay a toll each time you come into town, unless you save your slips (which I did) and gave it to the guy with no problem. It's 5 dollars Belize or USD. Use Belize $ if you can, to save a little $. Another con is the pool area is pretty dead. There's no festive music playing or any staff to entertain you, so it's very quiet, all the time. Not that I want a huge party every day, but some island music would've been nice. The gym is pretty sad, especially if you own one of these units which sell for over $400,000 USD. One treadmill, a couple of poor ellipticals, and some free weights. They really should improve it, as health conscious people don't take a break on vacation. You can run on the road, but you're breathing in golf cart fumes all day! You'll see the locals covering their face as they drive down the road. Overall though, a great, relaxing time.

My husband and I just returned from a lovely stay in this exquisite resort. From the greeter at the Belize airport who personally checked us in for our short flight to San Pedro, to Desk staff, restaurant servers, and the ever-smiling Brian at the pool bar, everyone was dedicated to keeping us happy. We had a water side view from our spacious condo, with fully stocked kitchen (I didn’t cook!), lovely balcony (see photo) and close access to all amenities. While it rained one day we opted for couples massage in our room...great choice! Instead of renting a golf cart, we opted to take the water taxi from the pier at the resort..only $5 one way, and a 5 minute ride right to downtown. There is always a pier attendant who will be sure the taxi comes to pick up guests. The Rain restaurant had a great rooftop view, and was perfect for breakfast. The food was okay...seemed to all come from the same kitchen, regardless of where you were dining.

80 to 90% chance of rain all five days of our visit...and yet had sunshine most of the time with his brief passing showers. Service was outstanding. Prices a bit high for everything but quality and service make it seem worthwhile. Breakfast French toast is a must. $5 Water taxi to town a bargain. No real need to rent the popular golf carts. Our room and daily housekeeping was top notch. Free daily laundry an unexpected bargain. Buy your wine and alcohol at duty free on arrival and you'll save a ton of money during your stay...if you drink! Snorkel Mexico rocks is also a must. Snorkeling at resort not worthwhile. Many Cuban cigars are fake. If you are interested, Google how to detect them before you buy.

Beautiful, elegant, resort and property. Lovely, large condo with a wonderful view of the ocean; great staff and services. We didn't heed the warnings from other reviewers that it's the sea that is less than accomodating here- for swimming at least. There is no tide because of the barrier reef and you can't swim because it's too shallow and filled with seaweed. The resort does a great job of keeping the beach pristine, which is not the case just yards away, as we discovered when we walked. But they do a great job of making it all LOOK beautiful. So if you plan just to dive or snorkel offshore, or don't care about waves or swimming this could be the place for you.
