Staff rarely around. Not open early enough and closed, operations closed or went home too early.

Everyone that works at Captain Morgan's is so kind. They all truly care about the guests staying there and will go out of their way to prove it! Ingrid, the bartender, takes the time to learn everyone's name, greets them with a smile, and is so kind! The staff helped me organize a cake and balloons for my husband's birthday. The casino was closed due to COVID, which we didn't know about prior to booking, so that was a bummer. But it was still a wonderful experience!

Marina gives an amazing deep tissue massage!! Entire staff was very friendly.

Don’t stay there! We expected more. I saw a mouse in the pool area. Can’t enjoy the beach too much seaweed.

The staff were excellent! Very helpful and friendly! The resort was on a great location, far enough out of town with not a lot of traffic, but close enough to make a trip to town with not ant hassle! Loved it, would definitely go back!!

Grounds are kept beautifully, but you can't enter the ocean from the beautiful beach. Like most of ambergris caye, the island is surrounded by eel grass. You have to go on a boat to get to nice water. The hotel is far north, advisable to rent a golf cart to get to restaurants.

Should have taken heed to the reviews that spoke about the decline of the resort under new management. There was a mix of friendly and rude staff but overall they were not very accommodating. The food was just... meh. The rooms were basic and the A/C did not adequately cool the room (not even at night). Throughout the 6 day stay I never slept in the bed and used my own travel blanket to sleep on the sofa because there were always bugs on the bed. There was always lots of confusion regarding transportation. The only thing consistent were the efforts to apply additional charges for services that should have been complimentary. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Nice resort on beach, staff helpful. Would stay again. It is a bit out of town. We rented golf cart so it was not bad, we enjoyed the 15 minute drive to town. Had to pay a $2.50 (per way) toll to go over bridge To get to town each day (they were only stopping tourists). Pools nice, resort clean. Directly on beach. Seaweed bad but resort made huge effort to clear the best they could. Can take water taxi anywhere for $5 US per person .

Well situated and carefully manicured grounds. Delightful weather and very helpful staff. We had beach cabana room 50 ft from ocean. No waves due to reef off shore. So shallow slope of beach that swimming was impossible up to hundreds of ft from shore. Food at restaurant was marginal was served stone crabs that were old and dried out. Very limited food selections. Unfortunately, our cabana was not RAT proof. We had daily visits with RAT turds and urine on our bed. Apparently, these RATS prefer the pillow area to leave their presents. I managed to conceal this activity from my wife, so she was pleased with room. I contrast, I was nervous about what was going on while we slept.

Thanks for your review. Sargasso is a Caribbean-wide issue and as it is naturally occurring, every resort must contend with it and it is not easy to mitigate due to government regulations regarding dredging. Mice are also commonplace in Belize.

Sea grass anchors our beach and without it, it would be taken away with the tide. It’s part of a very healthy eco-system, and there are definite high and low points of the year where it is apparent, and our grounds keeping staff does an excellent job of raking it from our beachfront.Thank you for your suggestions. We’d appreciate a future opportunity to offer you a truly relaxing getaway with excellent service.
