This property offers overall great value and qulaity.
Noisy thin walls crammed rooms construction going on
The hotel itself was great. It was clean and well maintained. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. My only complaints are the front desk staff gave conflicting information. We had an issue with the hot water in our room. Lastly, I didn't like that made a carbon copy of my credit card upon arrival. Other than that it was a great stay.
Nice big, clean room. Friendly staff. Appreciated the quick check/in and check-out.
Little oasis outside of Belize City. Great staff, food and relaxing stay. Pool was awsome.
A little oasis outside of Belize city. We stayed 2 nights waiting for family to arrive before going to Ambergeis Caye. Great rooms, pool is very nice, and the staff so helpful.
Nice Hotel in Belize City. I will stay there again and again. Close to airport. I rented a car to explore Belize so I needed a hotel with free parking. And there was ample parking. The food in the restaurant was okay. But then again, i did not go the Belize to eat hotel food. I jumped in my car and found local places to eat and was very affordable. You can see that the neighborhood in still developing. Not much to see in the neighborhood, but again the purpose of the trip was not to explore the hotels neighborhood. The pool area was very nice. It was not noisy. And I stayed on the first floor. I am glad that I did not listen to the negative reviews. This place was excellent.
Close to the airport- quiet and pleasant. Good for quick business trip
We were quite impressed with the quality of this Best Western. The pool looked tempting but we did not have swim wear available. The dining was good and the breakfast bar was excellent. The staff was efficient and very pleasant.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Belize Biltmore Plaza. The property was clean, well staffed and nicely maintained for the most part. They are currently renovating some of the guest rooms which brings me to one complaint. The coat of refinish in the bathtub in my room was terribly peeling as past due for repair. I suspect this is on the list of things to get to in the renovations, but they probably should not have allowed it to get quite that bad. Disappointed because I like to soak in the tub but was unable because the paint was physically peeling when I ran water. Didn't feel up to a room change, so stayed put. It would also have been nice to have a hot tub on the property in addition to the pool.
Good experience with good food at the restaurant Staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. Grounds were attractive and well maintained.
Don't eat there. Service can be awful and food not fresh. Unfortunately it's not safe to walk to nearby restaurants at night. Was ok for one night while waiting to fly out.
We stay at the Biltmore whenever in Belize. However, very disappointed with moldy smell in 2 rooms we stayed in during this trip, 11/26 to 12/01/2017. Possible after-effects of hurricane? Not sure. Mold-like substance on ceiling tile, which was replaced. However, there was almost an immediate wet spot in same location. Air fresheners and plug-ins were provided that may have covered smell initially. However, upon entering room after day of activities, mold-like smell was overwhelming. Woke up each morning with sore throats and stuffy noses. Telephone in one room had no hook-up, therefore could not make or receive local calls. Even though I think we should have been compensated better than not having to pay for 1 night in each room, this experience will not stop me from staying here in the future. I am sure management will investigate and perform corrective action on deficiencies mentioned above.
Clean hotel rooms, pool & gym, friendly staff, free wifi, and overall nice grounds. Staff will help you arrange tours for no added cost. The hotel location being just outside of the downtown makes it easier to get out on tours to the rest of the country.
The front of the hotel, neat and clean, does not reveal the wonderful secret garden within. The light-filled lobby, with a nice gift shop, leads back to a newly-equipped exercise room, then on to the very attractive restaurant with a cosmopolitan menu and excellent food, and then out to the large and beautiful hidden courtyard, which has lovely gardens, gazebos, and sparkling pool, many decks with comfortable lounge areas, and the fully-equipped, very pleasant, pool bar. Charming ! Our room was newly remodeled and simply first-class. All the rooms are currently being remodeled as well, and most rooms overlook the gardens and pool. Only a few minutes from the Philip Goldstone International Airport in Belize City, the Biltmore Best Western is an unexpected jewel. Add to all of this the personnel. Every employee we encountered was cheerfully helpful and professional. It is obvious that each one takes pride in their workplace, and we felt genuine care from each of them at every turn. We visit Belize often and will enjoy staying at this hotel again. It is particularly pleasant and convenient if you like being near the airport at the beginning or end of your visit to Belize.
They also have a party venue, which on Saturday hold a dance lasted until 3am with loud music.
Hotel is not near anything notable. Dirty highway in front, neighborhood streets next door, strip mall across the street. The Biltmore is clean, and suitable for families, couples or business travelers. Buffet is expensive (~$15 US) for breakfast/lunch/dinner and not terrific for my US-based tastes .. I will note that there were more than a few British influences on the menu and in the buffet (beans for breakfast, for example). There were items on the menu from the kitchen that were far fresher and even cheaper than the buffets. Room was clean, but the bath window did not close completely. To prevent the A/C from escaping, I would close the bath door at night. Yes, AC! It works, and helps the room stay cool all night. No carpeting anywhere in this hotel (that i noticed), however, it was warm enough in April that it would have been unnecessary. I did not rent a car, but the hotel shuttle was staffed by a nice guy named Jorge. He gave out his direct number, and the front desk could also call him (my phone did not seem to want to dial local numbers even with my international dialing plan). His rate is ~$25/hour US which i feel is more than reasonable. He drove me to a few excellent eateries in the area, and let me practice my Espanol on him while doing so. Walking is possible, but not much is near enough to walk to .. there is an excellent market nearby (DK market?) within a few blocks, and it has everything from almond milk, to cheap drinking water.
The pool is beautiful and mostly empty during the day. The outdoor seating for the restaurant was awesome. The room was comfortable and clean. However, the shower did not drain well. The room service was slow and when we called to find out when it would arrive, they were unfriendly.
