Nice hotel, but small rooms

Location is perfect, you cannot be more central than that. Staff is great - very helpful and polite. This hotel has free parking places, which was very important for us. Tip: write to them in advance and ask them to reserve one for you. The room we had was rather small for us and our three suitcases. If you have the opportunity, ask them for a bigger room. Overall we had a nice experience, mainly because of the staff's attitude. Once again - they were great.

Perfect for my needs - great location

Unfortunately I arrived late and left early because the city centre location made a it a wonderful place from which to explore the city - I'll have to come back. The only negative point I can make is that the fridge/minibar in my room was too noisey but I unplugged it for a great night's sleep. The bedroom furnishings were quite basic but a white toweliing dressing gown more than made up for it!

amazing location

This little gem of a hotel is located in the middle of old city.You can walk to every major destination on foot. Friendly staff, bilingual, refurbished rooms and great breakfast selection, mixed with traditional western and local cuisine. Very tasty. Will be back again.

Hotel is in a great location. Rooms small but functional. Main gripe was the noise in the function room which went on till 3 am fri, sat and sun night, and i was on the fourth floor. Hotel wasnt bothered at all. Boom boom all night... Not nice

A touch of old-fashioned central European class

A short step from the bus station (for those arriving the cheapest way from the airport) and a minute's walk from the most vibrant dining, drinking and shopping quarter I've seen in any European capital, this hotel must be pretty well unbeatable. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was much more than adequate. If I had to list quibbles for completeness' sake, I 'd say that the air bedroom conditioning only just coped with the extraordinary mid-August temperatures, and I'd moan that the TV remote control didn't access the channels promised in the hotel literature. I'd most certainly stay again. (The Moskva across the road would tempt me because it is surely one of Europe's iconic Art-Deco buildings, but the prices and traditional atmosphere of stately, quality service seem much the same there.)

A gem for a long weekend in Belgrade

Belgrade was one of our destinations on this holiday that included Zagreb, Sarajevo, and Istanbul, and turned out to be a delightful surprise. The city, and our stay, were both memorable. The two-twin hotel room was about average in size for European hotels, the bathroom a little small, but the special feature was the balcony with doors that opened to let in the morning and evening breeze. Very pretty. The breakfast was more than sufficient, offering both European and Western items, and the Internet was top notch. We also partook of room service both nights of our stay, enjoying quite good food and pleasant conversations with the friendly staff.

Good price and location

Chose this hotel in a hurry, owing to sudden change of travel plans. The main requirement (apart from free Internet) was free parking and, although this was indicated on the website, it turned out to be just a few bays on the busy street right outside the front door. Luckily, we arrived at the right moment when there was a place available. The hotel itself is a little jaded, although a grand building that speaks of past glories. Well-located in a central area and walking distance from the main tourist areas.

Great staff and great location.

The hotel is fantastically good value with clean, tidy rooms and attentive friendly staff who were happy to offer advice on anything we asked. In addition, the location being so central means you 're walking distance from everything be it pubs, restaurants or museums. Would definitely recommend this hotel where you get almost five star service for only a few quid. Fantastic!

Good Central hotel with free wifi

Good friendly hotel. Reliable wifi which also worked in the bar next door. Staff could not be more helpful. Location good for central area and taxis from the front of the hotel were good as did no try to rip you off. Will stay again when next in Belgrade

the Hotel Balkan

the staff where very helpfull and the room was good, the only problem was we where without hot water for 2 days and the heating was bad. no one could help. but apart from that it was a good hotel and would go back in the summer

Last minute choice of hotel in Belgrade

It was good value, but we didn't have a key as the machine wasn't working and the room smellt of smoke! Also they take away our passports! A person without a passport is a person without a country! :(

The reservation was supposed to be for comfortable room with private kitchen and coffee machine, but finally not available. The breakfast wasn’t good.. Room was dirty and in the bathroom was smelled. This is ridiculous. This hotel only renewed the rooms. The bathrooms look ugly and are old. I have never seen anything like this before. Also the breakfast was not good enough. Somebody before me left a review that breakfast was delicious. This is not true.

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, comfortable room. Good breakfast. Free wi-fi. Imposing decoration and fittings in the common areas.No complaints at all although it would have been even better if the bar stayed open after midnight for guests.

Good hotel with non-professional receptionists

I have prepaid 3 nights. When I came at 2 pm on the first day there was no water (neither hot, nor cold) - until 10 pm. The staff kept telling sm stories about their negotiations with plumbers, but in the end did not even find it necessary to make any apologies, or compensate the visitors for the trouble. At the reception the staff prefer talking on the phone without paying attention to the visitors waiting for their attention. This is really disappointing and spoils the impression of quite a good hotel.
