Grand Mercure Belem Do Para4.0 out of 5.0

The hotel staff can’t use the lê club (loyalty program) , but they have no trouble for the guest to suffer from it. The staff delayed the usage of points, misinformed me, used the points for the wrong purpose (generating an absurd credit) , had the guts to blame me for this, and refused to reimburse me. Besides that, the room and hotel quality doesn’t deserve the name of grand mercure
I really enjoyed my stay at the grand Mercury Belem. The hotel appears to be centrally located and easily accessible to airport and local attractions. The staff indicated that this property was previously a crown plaza hotel. The check in experience was very easy, I would like to mention the front desk staff member Moises, who was very helpful in getting me checked in quickly and efficiently. The gentleman at the bar made a delicious caipirinha. The rooms were a little bit on the small side but quite fine for a single traveler. The breakfast was not included in the room rate, it was extra prepaid or paid at the hotel it was delicious and well worth the money. The breakfast selection included warm delicious favorites like Brazilian tapioca, delicious! Thank you to the gran mercure Belem team for a great stay!
Hi people, another good hotel at Belem, but, even with a high fare, the breakfast isn´t included and in my opinion, very expensive. it costs R$40,00 and they also bill 10% of service...but it´s a buffet I could not understand the service taxes.
My stay was pleasant and the staff helpful and considerate. The breakfast was excellent. We had dinner there one night and the buffet was very good. It was very conveniently located for our meetings and business.
Good stay however a little disappointed with the quality of the best hotel suite. I have always stayed in the accor network hotels and normally the quality of the apartments and well superior. That's one of the reasons that maybe does not stay here in this hotel.
I have been staying in this hotel since it was a Crowne Plaza. I stayed at this property recently after it was taken over by Accor group. There has been no change since it became Grand Mercure. The coffee machine in the room comes with instant coffee which is very funny given the good standard of coffee expected in Brazil. The Gymnasium has outdated and useless equipment with missing safety clips on the treadmills. The swimming pool was closed for few days which is not acceptable for this standard of hotel. The charges have been revised upwards by about 30% but no improvements have been made. The staff is the only shining star of the hotel. Front desk staff is good but some of them lack experience. The food is good but they need some better English speaking staff. Breakfast is also a saving grace. Being an elite hotel of the Mercure group a lot of improvements are expected. The wi fi speed is very slow. I am sure the hotel is taking advantage of lack of four and five star options available in the area.
The staff are really nice and friendly, accommodating every request I had. Even though some floors are not entirely renovated, the rooms are spacious and the beds are the most comfortable ever with duvet and lots of pillows! The bathroom can be small for more than one person, but showers are good. It was also very clean.
