Room was ok, very small bathroom with limited facilities. The room I was in was next to the kitchen, lots of noise til 12 and then from 6. Was expecting a continental breakfast, but a full English was given which was nice Overall a cheap place to stay, owners really friendly.

A historic stone building, in an isolated delightful little countryside village. Tastefully adapted within the constraints of it's origin - appealing to anyone who dislikes soulless modern road hotels with 24-hour road noise. Instead, open your window (You can!! Hooray!!) and listen to birdsong. Comfort, peace, undisturbed sleep between days of hassle in nearby towns. Deliciously, the 2-foot-thick walls protect you from the demands of phone contact 😀 - that only restarts when you leave the building. The owners are helpful without being assertive. The Restaurant food is superb, and in generous quantity. All this at a price competitive with awful pseudo-US motel chains. I'm in that area half a dozen times a year: at last I've found where I'll stay each time.

Upon arrival all staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, lovely friendly people. I had a fantastic meal and the room was perfect. It was very hot in the room but this was no problem as a fan was available. Top class service!

Chaos

The guys running the place were very polite and friendly. However, on arrival at about 18.45, one young man was solely in charge. Customers were serving themselves drinks while he was trying to sort out the mechanism on our room door. They had dining guests waiting for tables although restaurant was virtually empty. They were also operating a ‘just eat’ service, which took two others away on deliveries. No breakfast menu was provided and we were given a ‘cooked’ meat free breakfast that was cold, coffee was instant despite a coffee machine on the bar! The mattress on our bed was very poor quality but the room and towels were clean. We got the impression that it was all too much for them and that none of the three had any experience in hospitality. Such nice guys, but desperately in need of training if they want to survive
