Been here now many times and we were never disappointed. The abbaye is worth a visit even if you haven't chosen to stay here. the owners are very friendly. Rooms are spacious, well decorated and stylish. Make sure breakfast is included.
We can strike this off our Bucket list but, will be back!! Put it on your list and just come here, to the Abbey in Beaune You won’t be disappointed Charming, historic and luxurious Owners are passionate and it shows!
My wife and I Stayed 2 nights in the converted Abbaye in Beaune France. It’s a boutique hotel in the centre of the village. Easy to book on their website. The owner and his wife are onsite to make sure everything is perfect. There is no Parking on site but free parking is a short walk away. Like many of the small hotels in France it is a walk up, no elevator but worth the effort. The rooms are well appointed with large bathrooms. We stayed in a deluxe room king size bed. The sheets and pillows made our night very luxurious. Check out the website for photos. The breakfast is excellent in the dining room that looks like a wine cave it’s magnificent. They serve dinner there as well. Breakfast is included in your nightly room charge. You will want to stay longer or come back soon.
A unique property (old abbey) convenient to everything in Beaune. Pay attention to the warning that this is not a property for anyone with mobility issues as the rooms are up steep circular stairs and even the reception area is several steps below street level. The breakfast/restaurant area is beautiful, romantically lit. Also pay attention to the recommendation that restaurant reservations be made well in advance. It is very tiny and despite staying three nights, two the restaurant was closed (Mon & Tues) and the third they were hosting a group. The staff was very helpful in recommending other places and making reservations.
The hotel is with a extraordinary history. The room was perfect clean, bathroom very nice made with a charm, location very near of the old center. Only there are to many steps between the reception and the bed and the main entrance into the hotel is more as untraditional. Also there is no drop off zone. Staff is very helpful and nice.
Excellent location. Hotel is a historic building beautifully restored and maintained. Extremely helpful staff and excellent chef. Please note, no lift as it is an old historic building, so narrow spiral stairway!
Beautiful hotel; great location. We truly enjoyed our stay at the Abbaye. It is a gorgeous historic experience with all the latest amenities. The front desk was wonderful as they were extremely helpful booking bicycles, a vineyard tour and a taxi back to the train station. We look forward to our next stay!
It is so difficult to find a truly qualified four- or five-star hotel in Burgundy. We literally had to go to the hotels and check the actual beds in the rooms to make sure they were the kind of quality we expect for such a rating. We don't mind three- or four- star hotels, but the system in the region is very unreliable. Anyway, I planned this trip to Burgundy to research my novel and this hotel looked too good to pass up. Of course, dragging my husband along it was hard to make sure we were getting the best possible accommodations for his needs. Abbaye de Maisieres has all the rustic historical beauty along with all the conveniences and luxury of a four-start hotel! One big drawback, there's no elevator, but the staff are very willing and able to carry baggage up the narrow spiral staircase. Absolutely gorgeous and romantic!
Beautiful and romantic abbey turned into a hotel. The lobby and dining area is exquisite. The spiral staircase going up to the room is rather strenuous, so this hotel isn't for people who can't handle a difficult staircase. That said, we loved it and the rooms were very spacious and lovely. The food in the dining room was excellent, and the service in the hotel was impeccable and very friendly.
I had one bar is soap in the bathroom but none by the bath One bath towel only Stopper in bath did not work so unable to empty bath water Climb up to my room was difficult....realize I should have stated my age before reserving When I booked a few months ago a suite was the only option available. I thought it was extremely expensive for what it was. If I had known the suite had two bedrooms I could have shared with a fellow traveler but it was impossible to cancel rooms at the last minute.
