The Bealey Hotel is located on the edge of a stunningly beautiful river valley surrounded by mountains about ten minutes drive east of Arthurs Pass Village. We stayed in a one bedroom villa (one of five from memory) all of which had panoramic views of the previously mentioned surrounding landscape. Our villa had a very comfortable bed, lounge and eating area and ensuite. While there was a bar refrigerator and some basic crockery and cutlery, the villa is not set up for self-catering. Instead, an ample continental breakfast was provided in the hotel’s dining room with dinner available there also at an additional cost.

Location was great as we had an easy drive the next day into Christchurch. The food at the restaurant was excellent. We ate there for dinner after making reservations. Also complimentary breakfast was good as well. Check in is not until 3:00. They do not open before 3:00pm
