The Pines Resort3.0 out of 5.0

The Pines delivers the feeling of camping in the tall pine trees, but with all the comfort of a resort. Our grandchildren enjoyed the pool and fishing on the dock. The rental boats were easy to operate. We stayed in a 'chalet', a two story duplex cabin. The kitchen was equipped with a coffee maker, toaster and the utensils needed to prepare a simple meal. The beds were comfortable, but the bathroom needed a little maintenance. The well stocked grocery store was super convenient. We are looking forward to coming back soon, so that is the best endorsement I could give!
We stayed in a king suite log cabin room 101 which is up the hill nearly at the top. The log cabin itself was lovely and had everything you could need and more. The only problem is the location of some of these cabins, check with the hotel before you book as it is quite a walk up a steep hill to get to some of them. The marina bar was excellent but only a summer bar. The hotel bar was also good. There is a supermarket onsite but it is very expensive so bring your own supplies.
We had a great 3 nights stay at the resort , the rooms were comfortable , we had everything we needed in the kitchen , the view beautiful, and the staff really nice and helpful, lovely Mary in the shop especially.
We booked for 7 nights and left after 5. The temperature during the day reached 95 - 100 and other than boating there is nothing to do on site. Good place to access the parks but you are still looking at 1.5 hours to the main parts of Yosemite. The cabins are very old fashioned and amenities average. The food on site is fine but after a few days we got bored of it. Our two kids (8 and 6) loved swimming in the lake but did get fed up with the heat. A good place for a few days (if you fancy the drive) but no longer. The lake is lovely and we recommend renting a boat for a morning. Good fun. We enjoyed our stay but we’re glad to move in.
We stayed for 1 night at Bass Lake. The log cabins are spacious and close to the lake. We enjoyed sitting around the pool, looking out over the lake. The lake is lovely and warm and they’ve put sand by the entrance. At 8pm, we were invited to have s’mores by the lake, which were delicious. A big thanks to Quinn for being a great host and making it so fun. Claire and Ben.
We stayed at The Pines Resort for two nights in a beautiful king bed suite. The room was comfortable and spacious, with direct access to a patio area overlooking Bass Lake, and steps from the pool and Ducey's restaurant. While we didn't spend a ton of time in the room (there's too much exploring to be done!) we did take advantage of the jacuzzi tub after a long day of hiking. There are many activities available on the lake (kayaking, SUP, boating) and you'd be remiss not to get out on the water, especially because the temperature is so pleasantly warm! Had several meals at Ducey's, both upstairs and down, and was really impressed with the menu (the eggs Benedict and loaded tater tots get special mentions!) Overall, this resort is a wonderful base for exploring Yosemite, which was only 18 miles away. You've got food, a market, and a gas station on site as well, and the staff are very accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend!
Our stay was in the peak of summer and I’m glad we elected to stay out of Yosemite Village as it was so jam packed we couldn’t even find a park and had to drive on in frustration. If you are like me and don’t have patience for crowds, The Pines is an excellent base for your Yosemite day trips. It is around 40 mins drive to the gate, but it’s an easy scenic drive. The resort is spread out with varied accomodation types. Plenty of nature and animals. Our villa was certainly due for a makeover but was sufficient and comfortable. If you are planning to do your own cooking, take note of all ingredients that you will need including oil and salt as they are not supplied. I would definitely stay again regardless.
The staff was very helpful! The resort was clean and had everything we needed to make our stay amazing! Our family has been going to Bass Lake for over 60 years. This year we surprised our family by coming all the way from Tennessee! It was a wonderful week of being with family and enjoying the lake!
Great accommodation in the heart of the village. We had a two bedroom condo and it was clean, spacious and the staff were great. Definitely recommend! There’s so much to do in mammoth lakes so it’s a great base.
What better way to top off a stay in the Yosemite area than in a place that overlooks such a scenic lake with water activities abound? The cute cabins were spacious and the balcony is a big, big plus to soak up the relaxed and tranquil atmosphere :) Most of all, the staff were incredibly helpful and their smiles made my day!
