Radisson Blu Hotel, Biarritz4.0 out of 5.0

Our group was made up 23 high school boys plus 9 adults traveling to SW France for a rugby tour. We're from Pennsylvania. The hotel was just great. The rooms were ideal and the breakfast exceeded expectations. The hotel is perfectly located right on the ocean and also allows easy access to the beautiful town of Biarritz. Highly recommend the Radisson Blu to anybody considering a trip to this wonderful part of the world.
On our way to Portugal we frequently pass through Biarritz and are always on the look out for a decent overnight place to stay. The Radisson Hotel is good for exactly that. The hotel staff has been very friendly and helpful to park our car in the hotel's own garage. Reception also booked us into the Onyx restaurant which saved us time to look around. The hotel and room ambience feels a little bit like it's high time for an immediate update but fully acceptable for a short over night stay. The bed could have been wider for a normal Radisson standard and the windows (2nd floor) couldn't be opened. The aircon at winter mode did produce warm air which in combination with locked windows made the room temp too warm for a comfortable sleep. Don't why the windows can't be opened but it could be a precaution in case of storms which frequently plague the area during the winter time. The Onyx restaurant served a good dinner with fresh oysters and an excellent bottle of wine, no disappointment. Ok place but I wouldn't want to spend my holidays over there.
I visit the rooftop bar every couple of weeks with friends and sometimes clients. On a clear day the views are some of the best you can find anywhere in the Basque Country. For some reason a lot of my golfing clients stay here and they all speak very highly of the staff and accommodation.
Our tour stayed one night in this hotel and it was a nice break from the lower luxury levels we'd been experiencing. The Radisson Blu in Biarritz is luxurious without being pretentious or overly dressy -- which suits this casual chic town in Basque Country. The hotel is directly across the street from the bluffs that soar above a pristine beach. We saw surfers in the water, but they failed to impress as much as the sights in the area did. About a scenic mile above the more glamorous town center, it was an easy walk from the hotel down to the famous village and its spectacular beach. The walk back was uphill but not strenuous and there were charming shops to investigate. The hotel's rooftop bar and restaurant offered wonderful views of the city and its coastline. The room was large and very comfortable, and the food was terrific. All considered, a great spot, even for just a single night.
This hotel is conveniently located steps from the surfer beach of Plage Cote des Basques. Thoroughly four star, the service is excellent and the facilities top notch including the very nice spa. Parking is available at an extra cost of 20 euros. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. The only downside was the dated bath/shower. The wi-fi worked very well. Did not try the food but the restaurant looked good.
The room was lovely, with comfortable beds. the location across the street from the beach and within walking distance of shops and restaurants is very convenient. We really enjoyed the best buffet breakfast of our Trafalgar tour Best of France. The roof top swimming pool and bar seemed like a good place to watch the sunset and at any time of day for good views of the ocean and the Pyrenees in the distance.
We had a very comfortable stay at this hotel last month. All the staff were very good but particularly those on reception. We had a lovely large room with two extremely comfortable double beds with superb pillows. The hotel is obviously used for conferences and business but this does not impact on holidaymakers.
As hotels go (in so far as the 8 hotels we stayed in our trip through France) this rated about the best in terms of comfort. The bed was very comfortable. Bathroom amenities were more generous than the other hotels we visited (not that that's particularly important). Breakfast was good, the staff helpful, and the location great ( It was right across the street from the ocean and a relatively hop down the road to the center of town). We'd gladly stay there again.
Great hotel , the usual high standards of a Radisson. Room with sea view. Breakfast were good with a great selection. The best bit about this hotel is the rooftop pool and bar, fantastic for watching the sun set overs the sea. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. Would definitely stay again
A nice hotel, room nice apart from the air conditioning not cooling the room down at night. Stayed to nights in room 501 sea view. Staff very friendly and helpful. A great location to walk into town, which is full of coffee shops designer shops and restaurants with good food. Never eat in hotel to much choice in the town. Only downside they have an underground car park and charge you €20 per night even though your staying in the hotel. My advice park in the streets around hotel
