Stayed just one night. Very helpful and friendly receptionist - she gave us good advice on what to do during our stay. The room was spartan and small - but difficult to fault otherwise - clean, everything worked, nice toiletries provided. Comfortable bed. It's a short walk to the Grand Plage. It's not somewhere to stay if you plan on spending lots of time in your room - but perfect as a base whilst exploring Biarritz.

The hotel is well located , being about five miniutes' walk from the seafront. The hotel provides clean comfortable accommodation, and is about five minutes walk from the beach. The breakfast, which costs eleven euro, is quite good. The outstanding feature of our recent five day stay was that the reception staff. They dealt with all our queries in a friendly and efficient way. They made useful suggestions about places to eat and about using public transport, which is frequent and cheap. They made our stay very enjoyable.

We had a good stay (just 1 night) at Escale Oceania, in large part due to the friendly, helpful staff. We were greeted enthusiastically when we arrived and the reception staff did everything possible to make us feel welcome and to be helpful. The room was basic, but clean and with a comfortable bed. We liked the hotel's location on a street that was not too busy but close to he beach and restaurants (the hotel recommended a very good one). The only negative was the breakfast. They had a nice 'express' option that included a croissant and other pastries. They were surprisingly terrible, especially for France. They tasted like something you'd find in shrink-wrap at a convenience store. But overall, we were very happy with the hotel and would recommend i.

The room is small and very bland, you face a bare white wall save for the tv screen. To put a simple picture would make such a difference! There is nothing wrong with the room, it is fit for purpose but comes across as very budget with cheap looking laminate floors, just open wardrobe and shelves with no doors, very basic. Our room was quiet, facing (unaccessible) greenery at the back. There is nothing in the room, no kettle, no fridge, no soaps. Again, just the bare basics, i.e. towels. The corridor was a bit smelly. I agree with other reviewers that the location is great, so we had breakfast on the Grande Plage with wonderful views for the same price as we would have had stuck in a little back room in the hotel, so we never had breakfast at the hotel. I would not come back to this hotel, as it is not value for money, for the price paid I expected better.

For its price it is a pretty good hotel, room very clean ,reception staff really helpful, smiling and everyone was speaking english, hotel is located 5 minutes walk from grand plage and is also close to the city centre, even when you have a room located to the street it is not very noisy . On the other side there is no mini fridge in the room and when we arrived they told us they have some problem with technology so they gave us regular key (that is not a problem) but they also asked us to leave the key at reception every time we left the hotel ,because they have only one(that was bit annoying) Breakfast was pretty good (11€ per person) but I would not recommend a fruit salad and coffee (we only had espresso and cappuccino, both were terrible)

2nd time staying here in two years, consistently good, very clean rooms and facilities. Didn't have breakfast this time but was good previously. Five minute walk to the beach, great location for accessing many of the little areas of Biarritz that you should see. Good option of doing own laundry next door in Pierre vacances; Wash - €6 soap included Dryer - €3 for 25 minutes Helpful and friendly staff, we will definitely be returning when we next visit Biarritz

Overall I was very dissapointed with the hotel. The pictures on the website were very misleading. Our room was tiny, with no room to move around without hitting off a stool or chair and the shower didn't work. When I checked in the receptionist went to check if my room was ready and when I entered the room it had just been sprayed all with air freshener....! Positives-the staff dealt with issues very well and the location is quite good, short walk from the Grande Plage and with a very nice restaurant/wine bar just a few doors down. Overall it wasn't suitable as a holiday accommodation for me- extremely basic for an unjustified high price. It's clear the hotel needs refurbishment and a lot of investment in my opinion.

Nice hotel. Very helpful staff. Their English was better than my French so easy to communicate. Breakfast was good with a good choice. Would stay again if in Biarritz. Reasonably close to a stop for the airport Chonoplus bus (14).

No complaints! Location is great, service is great, affordable, walking distance from La Grande Plage. Clean and quiet. I am definitely going back. It's also walking distance from bus stops which makes it easier to go around town. Mucho gusto!

Wonderful place for an overnight stay. Very close to center core and beaches. Front desk staff and restaurant personnel were happy, helpful and professional. Hotel common areas and our room were impeccably clean. Room was very quiet... faced the garden, with no street noise whatsoever. Only complaint was the tour group that all eat at same time and exit at same time. Not the hotel's fault but visitors should be aware that groups stay here.
