We recently had a one night stay here, I have no complaints, The staff we met were all very welcoming and very helpful with advice and sorting our taxi for us. The evening meal was very good, Very attentive waiter and chef, We recieved the same service at breakfast The room, Ok, A little tired but then i did not pay for or expect 5 star. It was clean and everything worked as it should.. Breakfast was excellent. If i am ever this way again i would be happy to stay again. Thank you for a pleasant stay, Would have been quite happy to have stayed longer and seen more of the area. Maybe one day.

The room smelt musty the bathroom facilities were appalling slept for 2 hours and left the place needs completely renovating don't stay until it's done stayed in camponille in poiters very good this hole does not compare it is a definite no no

We were accommodated here by green flag while our vehicle was being repaired. Rooms were clean and tidy and very good value for the money. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Food was very nice and also reasonably priced. Breakfast buffet was also good value for money. Some of the negative reviews on here don't do it justice as you get what you pay for. If satisfactory accommodation at a reasonable price with friendly staff is what you're looking for I'd give this a look.

We stayed here on our way driving back to UK from Spain following recommendations on TripAdvisor and weren't disappointed. Excellent value - costing approx £40 for double room. Breakfast was 10 euros each and we also had our evening meal there " plate de jour" for 10 euros - bottle of wine for 19 euros which after Spain was rather pricey but we expected that. We asked for a quiet room and got room 27 facing the back - never heard a thing all night and we also sat out before dinner and enjoyed a bit of sunshine. Room very basic but for price can't complain. Bedding and towels clean - Aircon worked. Cleaning could have been better as there were a few long dark hairs in the bathroom which didn't belong to us. Good breakfast and dinner good although we were disappointed with the service at dinner. We booked a table for 7.30 as suggested by hotel but when we arrived were asked to wait for 10 mins in general area which we did with our bottle of wine. Got called through at 8 but then waited a further half hour before our food arrived. Although really tasty ( salmon pasta) I couldn't eat mine as was far too late. That said would stay there again as very good value as free WiFi and parking included. Nothing to do with hotel but if driving from Spain fill up with fuel before you get to France as much more expensive there......

Stayed in a party of 18. Sold us triple rooms which were doubles at best. 3rd bed went across the bathroom door but could only be put up once the other two people were in bed and had to be moved if you want to use the bathroom. Complained that they were not triple rooms, some were to small for double/twins but they told us there were three beds in there...not lost in translation, they just lost it. Charged us for another room and booked another room 3 miles away in another hotel and charged us again. So charged us for 20 beds not worth 10. Avoid if you can, it is budget, we have sued before but staff did not care but in the long term it will be their loss. Never again.

Like other reviews, the hotel needs some serious updating, a little shabby in places but okay for a passing stopover. I've stayed in many Campanile and they do vary according to usage. I've had very good, and very bad, this one looks and feels more than well used with the dining room and reception flooded with water at one point. With a big cycling group there's always a lot of pressure on the staff to keep up - in this hotel the food was first class for evening meal and breakfast alike. Our guys were very happy with that, and the staff were very friendly However, after a long hot day on the road, we do tend to like a drink, and more than once cleared a hotel of all beer stock. Sadly in this hotel the beer was poor, served in beer festival plastic glasses, flat, expensive, and only 3/4 full. Worse still all. closed just after 10pm. It didn't take 2mins for our team to work out that Spain was only a 5min walk away, and that's where they finished their evening with an abundance of bars and restaurants still open for business. This is not a beer review, although some may use our advice and get over the bridge into Spain for a beverage. Our groan is that spent close to 2800€ in total during that hot June evening... Whether travel hotel or other, this hotel lacked the sparkle, attention, and personal touch given to us by it's Spanish cousin's during the rest of our cycling Tour of the Basque Country. For a break in a long road trip it's okay... Suppose that's really what it says on the box, just expected a little more for the money

A voucher hotel for a short stay, rooms are a little bit ageing, but clean. A nice welcome of a good staff. Ideally placed not very far from the ocean. A local restoration with good products and cooked well. Only slight drawback, the breakfast excel well that eggs are missing

Situated in a lovely seaside town . Most beautiful beach . Wonderful walks along the coast . Hotel was clean and comfortable . Good pleasant staff were welcoming and helpful . Great restaurant . Interesting food . Buffet offering starters cheese and desserts as varied and tasty . Good breakfast

Not bad to stay one night but the room 33, the one for a family with one kid becomes too small. The bed to the kid will stay in the way to the toilet and it's not confortable. WIFI is free but it's to slow. You have a machine to boile some water and drink a tea but the machine does not give me confidence... Breakfeast is too expensive.

Campanile hotels are pretty much the same up and down France. They offer a comfortable bed in a reasonably sized room, with fairly poor but moderately accessible free WiFi and fair toilet/shower facilities. The Campanile at Hendaye is no different. We were given a room on the ground floor, car park side and experienced none of the issues with flying insects that others mention. We were also directly opposite the reception, where fairly reasonable food can be had for price. We were surprised by how busy this small town was and chose to eat in-house because we couldn’t find anywhere else, unless we crossed the river, back into Spain. Staff were brilliant.
