Local attractions include the Dock Museum, celebrating Barrow’s history as a builder of submarines for the Royal Navy. Other nearby attractions include Walney Island with its nature reserves which offer a broad selection of wildlife, including seals, which use the island for breeding each year, it’s also a magnet for kite surfers.
