The orbitz packager advertised was a bit different than what I found at check in.10832of all, after I called the orbitz support group the day after checking in, the representative was not able to solve the issues. This is the third time a Colombian hotel advertised in Orbitz changes the rules after arriving on-site. And as the user normally does not read the final contract with orbitz (thinking that you are getting what you were just shown as advertised), there is really nothing you can do but pay what ever the hotel tells you at check in.

A well kept facility. It only needs a concierge at the door. We had to carry our four bags all the way into the reception and a few stairs.

I've paid much more and received much less at hotels in resort areas back in the U.S. The Hotel Garden Inn is on the outskirts of the city, yet still close to local attractions -- it was about a 10-minute walk to the Barranquilla Carnaval parade route when I went. It's also convenient to the massive Buenavista shopping and entertainment complex, about a 5-minute walk (albeit in some tricky traffic). As for the hotel itself, everything is clean, sleek, and modern. Upon check-in, as I stumbled along with my halting Spanish, the front desk clerk graciously offered to check me in with her excellent English. The entire staff, from front desk to restaurant, to cleaning personnel, were super friendly and courteous. Luxurious finishes make the rooms feel like a spa. There is a small but perfectly serviceable gym, with new and well-maintained equipment. The outdoor infinity pool on the third floor is stunning, offering a gorgeous overlook of the surrounding city. One of my only complaints--and I don't think it's the hotel's fault--is the crazy vehicular traffic fostered by the roundabout near the hotel entrance. You need to have your head on a swivel, and cat-like reflexes to cross the street. And at least in my room, the water for taking a shower never got truly hot, only lukewarm--not sure if it was because everyone else was showering at that time or what. In all though, I was very satisfied with my experience here and would (will?!) certainly stay again!

From check-in to check-out, it was a great experience. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and knowledgeable. Alfredo is an awesome host. The only problem I had was the bathroom with a broken pipe the same day I checked-in; however, it was solved within minutes and I was offered a better suite. I went during carnaval so the whole hotel was running in carnaval mode.

This is a fairly new hotel so the cleanness is great. Hotel staff are very helpful. Good value for the money.

superb staff, ultra-modern hotel
