Oriente Hotel

A good place to stay and possibly preferable to its grander sister along the Lungomare- The Grand Hotel of the Nations (lacking the sea view though). The Cavour front and the commercial high end stories across make it covenient. The decoration of the rather limited areas is odd post modern and the breakfast room kindergarden cosy and the offerings are good. The rooms are inpale dress with the decorative framing aspiring. Not exceptionally quiet and the staff responsive and characterful. An expensive 4* urban european though, not parochial and amateurish

This hotel is expensive, there is no avoiding that. It's clean and has an excellent breakfast with staff who are very professional. The rooms were air conditioned and cleaned to a high standard. Only one fly in the ointment. The roof top bar. Why say it's open all evening then go to reception and say it's closed when one tries to order a drink. Don't get it! Well done to the waiter whom served us despite the receptionist saying it's closed. He has glasses and curly hair and he knows who he is. You have a fantastic career in customer relations ahead of you. Well done. I only wish I could say it in Italian.

We were in Bari on business and needed a place for the evening. The Oriente looked like a nice choice, well located in the heart of town and close to old town. We were not disappointed. The public areas were nicely finished and the rooms comfortable and well appointed. Good air conditioning throughout. Clean and neat throughout. The staff was very warm and exceedingly helpful. While not a 5 star lux, the Oriente is a great place to stay when in Bari.

The hotel was a bit tough to find with the addresses we entered on Waze and google maps, but we were quite happy once we got there. The room was exactly as advertised, very clean, and very comfortable. Also, unlike many hotels in Europe, it was quite roomy. The bed was also very comfortable. We walked everywhere we needed to go. The hotel staff were quite helpful.

A nice high quality hotel ideally located and with great breakfast. The rooms on Corso Cavour are a bit noisy. Some of the personnel at the reception is kind of arrogant which really doesn't fit with the job. Room for improvement here !

The location was extremely convenient right in the center of everything so I might return just for that. The hotel itself was just ok. The reception area and breakfast area are small and the decor isn't that nice. The breakfast was just ok. My room was very very small and no view. It was clean and comfortable enough but really just a pass. Hopefully if you book a room on a high floor with a view, the experience is much more agreeable so I will reserve judgement until I try that. Just be aware that if you get a deal when they're fully booked you may end up in a tiny room with no view. It was clean and modern and the bathroom was good but really a bit too small, so book a better room.

The hotel was just about OK although hot water only gets warm and breakfast was poor. My main complaint was the terrible attitude of the woman receptionist. She spent 5 mins chatting to her friend (with a dog), keeping several guests waiting. When I asked a polite question as to if anyone else is available on reception, she shouted at me "Wait....I won't be long". This happened on our first day - I was treated especially poorly for the rest of our stay.

The Oriente has high standards, is in excellent condition, clean and staff is very helpful. It's located in a high-end part of Bari, near international shopping and half way between Vecchia Bari (where you will want to go for sightseeing) and the train station. Staying in this part of town you will wonder why Bari has a port city reputation and all the negatives that implies. Rooms were lovely and the breakfast ample and delicious. Front desk staff helpful with info.

We stayed 3 night first and had no hot water for the period as we were informed there was a problem that was been fixed. We returned 10 days later after a trip round Puglia for 2 nights and again no hot water. We finally got transferred to a sister hotel after about an hour requested when hot water would be avaliable. Reception advised they could not say. Crazy! Note avoid sister hotel grande albergo delle nazioni also. This is not a five star bit a dirty 2 star.

It is located next to the old town and all the shopping. There are a lot of aggressive beggars in the area. One was in front of the front door on Sunday morning. Downtown Bari is relatively small and you can walk everywhere from this hotel. The hotel is new and nice. Positives include a nice breakfast buffet and a rooftop bar with a view over the city. Vallet parking is expensive at 25 euros. Oneway taxi to the airport costs the same.
