At first we were given a hotel room where it smelled of smoke and room was facing onto a main road and train tracks beyond. When I complained the receptionist, without hesitation gave us a lovely room overlooking the beautiful gardens. Breakfast was tasty with freshly brewed coffee. The location is a little on the outskirts but with a car, that was not a problem. Nice place. Yes we would return.
We stayed here for one night in October. We have to agree with previous reviews that the location is less than ideal. However, the hotel itself is in nice private grounds and once in the hotel, the location is forgotten. Our room was spacious, clean and well presented. The accommodation was good value for money. Our only gripe, apart from the location, was that the choice of food in the restaurant and bar was quite limited if you only wanted a snack or something quite plain. The meals and bar snacks were also quite expensive.
Reasonably priced, quite close to train station which is good. Could have done with better signage to the property (signs aimed at people with cars more than pedestrians) but a nice setting once you arrive. Was pleased to get upgraded to a suite. In house bar and restaurant okay but also within walking distance of the centre of Bari and the Old Town. Reception desk a little inefficient at checkout, four staff visible behind the desk but only one appeared to be serving. Efficient when I was served though, taxi to ferry terminal was prompt.
Ok so I’m sure you’ve already read the reviews about the location and yes you will not get a sea view here! but..... this hotel is an oasis in the desert. A must are helpful, friendly and professional staff; this can’t be a coincidence but all fell into this category. We had a spacious and comfortable room with a beautiful balcony overlooking a lovely pool and patio area although it was a little too cold for a dip in October. There are free to rent bicycles and plentiful cheap taxis to take you into the old town for a selection of bars, shops and restaurants; and the must visit and best restaurant by far is ........ THE HOTEL’S RESTAURANT
The hotel is great with a lovely pool and beautiful gardens. Didn't use the restaurant other than for a cracking value breakfast. The staff friendly mostly and the facilities first class. The location is disappointing but nothing that the hotel can do anything about. The walk into the old town takes about 15 minutes. The area around is run down, dirty and a bit depressing however we walked back late and didn't feel worried or threatened. The station is particularly unsightly but great for local trips and the service, value and trains put the UK to shame. The old town is beautiful and interesting with lovely bars and restaurants some better value than others.
We stayed here for 1 night pre-cruise and chose the hotel because we have always had good experiences with Mercure / Accor hotels, and it was located very close to Quintino Sella train station (I google mapped it before booking). So we arrived at the airport, within minutes had collected our baggage, walked to the train station, bought our tickets (5 euros per person), got on the clean spacious train and arrived about 15 minutes later at Quintino Sella. From there it is about a 5-10 minute walk - there are steps to be aware of if you have heavy cases. Aircraft to hotel in less than 1 hour! We were given our room immediately and before official check-in time by friendly staff, and our room was large, nicely furnished and spotless. We explored the hotel grounds and as it was such a beautiful day (October 28th) sat by the pool and ordered a couple of drinks from the bar. Again service with a smile and for hotel prices exceptionally good value. It was stunning looking over the villa through the trees, and the grounds are lovely. We slept very well and had breakfast next day before checking out. Breakfast was OK, not a great deal of choice but adequate, and it was included in our room rate anyway. Both check-in and check-out were smooth, and all the staff we met were very friendly and professional. A very good hotel which I would be very happy to recommend to anyone seeking a comfortable, clean, and excellent- value hotel in Bari
My family, 2 adults & 2 children(8 and 1 years) stayed here 31OCT-4NOV. Superior Quadruple Room is really good. Very comfortable wide double bed, but squeaking sofa, got a baby cot on spot, a bit broken though... Bathroom good, there`s an issue with hot water in the evening, sometimes it`s not hot enough; ventilation hole cover was fall down on the floor one morning =) But this was settled immediately when I asked. Breakfast is good, especially if you like eggs ). Dinner in the restaurant was very good, tasty dishes; if you didn`t find your preferable dish in the menu, ask waiter. Pasta wasn`t in the menu for example, but it was definitely possible to order it. By the way if you need just a snack, check menu in the bar. I was surprised when I found salads there, but not in restaurant`s menu... Staff is very friendly, service is perfect. Hotel`s territory is beautiful, there`s a free huge outdoor parking. Location not in the downtown, but not a problem if you have rented a car.
The hotel is right next to the central station and its not a very developed area in terms of shops or restaurants. However, it is inside a large park with fountains and a pool so its nice to walk in the hotel grounds. I dont quite understand why there is no childrens playground in the park since there is certainly enough space to put one. The spa is a very disappointing place, made in the former lockerroom of the gym, so you can imagine both the size and the quality. You might just as well forget that they have a spa. The reception staff is, in all shifts, mostly consisting of 3 very unhelpful people and one helpful person (mostly the older staff). I would advise to hire more of the helpful normal people and less young italian men who really like how they look in a suit but have hardly any other qualities to recommend them. There was an incident with our lunch - we were there with our child for a doctors appointment, and she needs to eat animalprotein for all meals and no gluten. Since the hotel only serves bread based bar items for lunch we asked for a recommendation for a close by restuarant. We walked 10 minutes there snd then back since it turned out to be closed for lunchtimes on Saturdays. As we arrived we confronted the young man on the reception who had sent us out - by that time we were very hungry and Italian restaurants serving lunch were close to closing. He first was just repeating that he had checked it online, only for it to turn out that he doesnt know how to read working hours on google, and he discovered this magnificient feature only when I showed it to him. But the part where he really behaved horrible is when he told me that 10 minutes of futile there and back walking is not so long, and I replied that its very long for a sick 5 year old...and he laughed. Luckily for the whole hotel, an older gentleman intervened as he could see that I was at the end of my ability to be decent, and we worked out a solution. I would recommend this hotel for business travellers or large events. definitely not for people needing something with a spa or outstanding service. Actually, if you need to do something in Bari but are able to stay a bit outside of it, there is a great hotel called Pesceria in Monopoli. We went there for lunch and this is where we will be staying in the future when we need to visit the doctor for our daughter. Laughing at someones sick child is really the lowest thing possible.
The name of this hotel contains two elements: A Mercure hotel, and a Villa Romanazzi Carducci. The former is a very standard Mercure. My room was smallish and not particularly beautiful or well appointed, but the service was kind and the restaurant remarkable (foodwise). The Villa is a late 19th century villa (very pretty), surrounded by a very elegant Italianate garden - which includes the hotel as well. I had been there for conferences in the past, but this was my first time as a hotel guest.
Stayed here for one night before a cruise. The hotel is in a good location, the pool is beautiful. Our room was large and very clean. Great restaurant downstairs. Look forward to returning here again.
