Ideal for a night if you need to be close to the airport. The pool area and gardens are lovely. However, I still find it incredible that people can smoke everywhere. There is no designated smoking area so be prepared to have people smoking right next to you at the tables during breakfast, lunch and dinner and especailly around the pool. We were also disappointed with the hidden coss we were not made aware of on check out - they charged us to use the pool/towels per day as an extra on top of our room rate.
The hotel itself was in a beautiful setting with gardens and wedding venues on site. The rooms were good and the breakfast buffet was excellent with different sorts of eggs cooked to order. However it was not situated in a very pleasant part of town and it took nearly 30 minutes of walking through some decidedly unpleasant areas to walk to the prom. Once there it was gorgeous but not something iI would want to do every day. Staff in the hotel were pleasant and helpful and parking was no problem
We stayed here a couple of years ago as it is much nearer to the airport, and we decided to do the same again. If anything it's even better, the new (well new to me!) pool is great and was very welcome. The staff are just as good as before. The gardens were always a little haven, and have now been improved by ingeniously turning the old pool into a pond with fantastic foundations. It's obviously a popular location for weddings etc, both times we've stayed we've stumbled upon a party in the grounds! A lovely meal in the restaurant finished the day off nicely. Our room as very big (225) and quite well appointed, I almost wished we'd booked for 2 nights.
This hotel is set in its own leafy grounds with an excellent, clean and safe open air swimming pool. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful, and the buffet breakfast excellent. We found the hotel restaurant to have a limited menu and, being summer, outside dining under shadecloth was encouraged which leaves you at the mercy of chain smokers who are, unfortunately, ubiquitous in Italy. You can trundle your suitcase from the station in about 20 minutes (turn right from the steps at the back of the station - the hotel is in the same street). The walk is flat but you are passing along a depressing, dilapidated and heavily graffitied street, though safe. Therein lies the problem with this hotel - location. The main attractions in Bari for the tourist are probably the old town and the seaside promenade, and it will take you about 45 minutes of walking through fairly uninteresting surroundings to get there. Of course, this criticism does not apply if you have your own car or are willing to take taxis back and forth. Reception will readily call a taxi for you and it will appear within a few minutes.
When you drive along the railroad road, you suddenly see the entrance of the hotel. The reception is very near. Your room is in newer building next to the villa. The rooms are big here and clean. You can park your car on a vast carpark. The beautiful thing about this location is the swimming pool area. Closed off. A very nice pool and a good place to sit. The first evening we had a salat in the hotel. The next day we had dinner more to the beach. The breakfast was very good. Fresh fruit and muesli. There was even a cook for special requests. The internet was excellent.
First of all, I would have given maybe 3/5 for the hotel. The pool is nice, the rooms are not new, but okay and spacey. The hotel itself seems old, the carpets have not been changed or cleaned quite long. The location is a bit far from the centre. But the bad parts: - Service during check in was not very friendly, we were also sent to a restaurant which was closed. Also no additional information provided - Pool towel: When I entered the pool, a guy was almost forcing me to take a towel. I took it even I didnt need it and when I checked out they charged me 3 Euro for that. They said it was somewhere written in the room. I didnt see it and the pool boy didnt say anything either. I dont think a 120 Euro hotel needs to charge 3 Euro for a pool towel in any case!
Wow what a trip. We booked to come to Bari on a whim having never visited Italy and wanting to see a more authentic and natural side than the traditional tourist parts. The hotel is spotless and modern. Our triple room was big, with all amenities you would need for your stay. We stayed on the side of the train track which I worried about, but rooms were quiet. The pool area and hotel grounds are stunning, the pool is quiet and peaceful. I imagine a wedding here would be really beautiful. The restaurant here is also of a high quality, serving a great range of food and high quality wines. The hotel was located around 20 minutes walk outside of Bari centre, and is in a run down area with lots of students and derelict buildings. I would probably suggest a taxi back when the dark as it can be quite rowdy - but hey this is city living and it wasn't too much of an issue for us. Bari centre is friendly, has great shopping and lots of lovely little restaurants and bars. Our trip really was one of the best I've had. I really did leave my heart in Italy!
Good things first: = very big and very beautiful garden; one can just walk around = good pool with sunbeds = very very clean = friendly stuff Negative: = some rooms are small (it is usual in Italy, but room as big as bathroom is too small for me :-) ) = even smaller TV in room, like 3' big :-( - this is weird for 4* hotel Neutral: = breakfast is OK, but nothing special = location of hotel - one can see common Italian life around, but hotel is too far away from old city = WiFi is free but speed is average
This is a very professionally run hotel. The large room was immaculately clean with a large bathroom and very good shower and good quality fresh towels. There was a lovely view of the pool and well-kept garden. The pool was well supervised and constantly tidied by the pool attendant. The breakfast was wonderful with a very wide range of sweet and savoury items and eggs are cooked to order. Eating on the terrace was a pleasure. All staff were very polite and helpful. The only downside is the distance from the centre of town (35 min walk) but it is a lovely place to stay and relax. The restaurant menu is also a little expensive.
We took a late flight to Bari and this place was close to the airport. We had dinner outdoors and this restaurant is really good, our waiter was great. Next morning after breakfast I asked if we could extend our stay one more night and I was looked at as if I was crazy and was told they get very busy so the answer was NO. By the time we went to check out we were told that the room was indeed available. Glad the person had an attitude because we checked into a much better hotel for $20 difference by the water and with a view of all Bari. This hotel is not tourist oriented so don't stay if you can avoid it, it's not in a nice part of town. WiFi was limited to 3 devices only! We have 2 phones and 2 computers.....HELLO? We are in 2017!! Room was average for the price and the shower had mold. See the pictures.
