Pleasant greeting at reception when arrived late at midnight. Complimentary coffee on arrival. Stayed in Rm557. Rooms modern & simply furnished. Comfy bed and shower ok but needs a bit more power. A very small safe - wouldn't accommodate anything bigger than iPad but no charge for this. There is a guests laundry room on 2nd floor - iron/ironing board free but a €1 to use wash machine/dryer. Excellent breakfast - cakes, fruits, eggs & bacon, great coffee. There is a small outdoor pool on the first floor - nicely done and very clean. A small gym - 4/5 pieces of equipment. This hotel is geared more for business travellers than leisure but would highly recommend if staying in this area of Bari.
We choose the Hi Hotel in Bari for it's location. We had to fly early and wanted a fast trip to the Bari airport. Hi Hotel is next to the big road that crosses Bari horizontal. In 20 minutes you are at the airport. The hotel is a pleasant hotel, nice room, clever aligned. The bead was good en we had an excellent breakfast in the morning. The staff is very pleasant, you can have a free water or coffee at a special small bar. They also have a ground floor pool. The area is a bit awkward but the pool is nice. But the water was rather cold.
First impressions were a little mixed. The area in which the hotel is situated, is not wonderful, and arriving in the room, we were somewhat disappointed with the lack of storage space. However, we accept that we should have realised, being a city hotel, it is not meant for long stays with suicases. Once this had been forgotten, we really enjoyed our stay. It is very close to the SS16 motorway enabling easy access for touring the area. The hotel has an underground car park, which although is an extra cost, it is reassuring to know that the car is as safe as possible. Anyone knowing the Italian driving, will appreciate the advantages of not leaving the car on the street. The restaurant is light and airy, and serves breakfast and dinner. The breakfast is okay, plenty of fresh fruit, but not enough bread options. Loads of sweet things, eg croissants, cakes and flans, but only one white sliced bread, which when toasted is hard and tasteless. The staff are excellent and very pleasant. The rooms are very well cleaned, and all in all, a good hotel . Rosanna on the front desk, gave us excellent directions to find the hotel, prior to us leaving our previous destination. There is a pool, but not many sunbeds, again no doubt with it being a city hotel. The sun is on the pool until about 4pm.
Lovely hotel. The rooms have thoughtful design touches, good beds, and double windows for quiet sleep. The restaurant in the lobby was a wonderful surprise, with good food and wine at dinner, and a fantastic breakfast buffet. This is good because there's not much else within walking distance. Driving from downtown Bari, the hotel was slightly difficult to find. We had to resort to Google Maps on our smartphone. Within the hotel, wi-fi is strong. The parking is interesting. Try to park outside in the front if possible. The underground lot has a short, steep ramp with a turn. Getting out, we really had to hit the gas pedal to ascend in one trip since we were a group of four with heavy luggage in a fairly big car. There was a reasonable parking fee, 10 Euros a night, I think.
Is the fourth time I went to the biggest exhibition in Puglia at La Fiera Levante di Bari. Looking for a hotel for three nights I ended up to Hi Hotel Comfortable rooms, good location in a short 4 km distance from everything you need in town provides all you need for a short stay. I have been in other hotels in Bari this is the one I would try again Staff very friendly and helpful.
We really loved this hotel. The room was spacious with a huge floor to ceiling glass window. The bed was comfy, it was peaceful and quiet which meant we had a great night's sleep during our stay. Lovely bathroom with lots of hot water and toiletries. The buffet breakfast had plenty of choice and was served in a really nice conservatory style setting. We both loved, loved, loved the free coffee and tea bar though and that is such a great touch. Wifi was super fast and worked everywhere. However, it is the staff that really made this place and we found them all so nice, friendly and very helpful. I wish I knew the name of one of the girls on reception but she'll know who she is when she reads this and she helped us make a complaint about the taxi drivers. This was the only negative part about our stay in this part of Italy. We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel and the taxi driver was pushy to the point of being aggressive in trying to get us to book a private tour with him the next day to Alberobello. Luckily we don't speak Italian and although we totally understood what he was trying to do, we just pretended not to understand. We were in the same situation the next day with another taxi driver when going from the hotel to the train station. He tried to get us to change our minds and do a taxi tour instead of taking the train. The train station is only about a 5/10 minute drive from the hotel but it actually took nearly 25 minutes and we feel that this was a ploy to either make us miss our train and constantly nag us to take a taxi instead (didn't work). The next day, we did use a taxi to go to a seaside resort as we didn't have a lot of time due to us getting a train to Rome. The rates for this resort are displayed in the hotel but the taxi driver increased them quite substantially and this is when the lovely receptionist got involved to try and resolve things. She was great and very professional and I hope she does make an official complaint to the local council (or professional body of taxi drivers) as this did take the shine off our stay in Puglia but at least we won't forget it !!! If we ever went back to Bari we would definitely stay in this hotel as it was first class but please be warned about the taxi drivers and make out that you are there on business and not tourist purposes.
Very modern and well designed...someone really thought about this place!! The single rooms are good value and definately don't make you think single is second class. The female receptionist was charming...her male counterpart much less so! Good breakfast choice in a smart dining area. However the location is slightly rundown urban and a problem without a car as it is nearly an hour to walk to the old town or a $13 taxi ride.
I am traveling every week. At most of the times, the moment I step my foot in a hotel and in the room, I want to immediately to get out. Fortunately the HI hotel was not one of the cases. It is a hotel that you are glad to return to after a tiring day. It is very modern with very nice and pleasant rooms and lobby, very good breakfast and most importantly fantastic staff. In general it feels great to stay there. I strongly recommend this hotel to all people travelling to Bari.
I don't care what bad reviews you have read prior, but I just checked out of the HI HOTEL BARI and it was one of the best hotels I have stayed in during my 3 year stay in EUROPE. The service was reception services incredible, the room was outstanding and very comfortable. However the highlight of our stay was the breakfast. BEST HOTEL BREAKFAST we have ever had. Can't speak to the trolley because we drove. Be sure to ask for a non smoking room for those who don't smoke.
We recently stayed for two nights and were very happy with our choice. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, room was large and bright, breakfast was one of the best we've had in Europe. Highly recommend this hotel.
