not well hosted and robbed 2 streets away.
This property is pretty much as described. What we liked- roof terrace, washing machine. Easy check out. lovely bars, restaurants and grocery stores close by.
What we did not like- (READ TO END!) check in at a central location, a taxi ride away from the apartment. If you arrive before check they will charge to hold your bags at the office. Check in was slow. They charge extra for CC's. The apartments are noisy, with thin walls and loud dogs in apartments and groups of other renter partying. There is no real hosting here- we were 3 people staying 9 days. We were given just 3 bath towels, ( yes, 1 per person!) no hand towels, no wash cloths, no kitchen towels. Also no pool towels; yet it forbidden to take the towel from the apartment to the pool. The pool accessed by going down into the basement and then walking through an underground parking lot- dark and does not feel very safe. The pool was not very clean, we did not use it. No access to clean bed linens(again we were there for 9 days with same sheets) , no trash bags, or anything. The kitchen is fully equipped with large appliances and a coffee machine. However there were zero pots/pans, ovenware so that made it pretty useless. I did contact the office and they sent pans. No hairdryer, no TV if you are not Spanish speaking, No streaming option on TV. It felt more like a camping trip where you have to " make do". At 9pm on our 2nd were attacked and robbed by 2 assailants just 2 streets away. We had walked home from visiting the port. My husband was attacked and they dragged him off the pavement into the traffic and he was injured. He was unable to walk very far for the rest of the trip and we felt very unsafe. Obviously, that is not the fault of the rental company; however you should be aware that this was not a "routine" pickpocket event. According to the Special Investigations officers we dealt with, we had been subject to an organized crime group who had targeted us much earlier in the evening down at the port and followed us home( around a 2 mile trip).They advised us we were lucky the two assailants did not stab us. So word of warning to visitors in Barcelona- they have a big problem with watch theft ( again, not a pick pocket, but a violent assault) Stay away from the area around the W hotel because it is known a the crime hub.
