The location is perfect for walking day trips. Zoo, marina, shopping, churches and gothic quarter. Staff was very courteous and friendly. Also very alert when people entered. Breakfast was fantastic. Would stay here again

We stayed in the Del Mar Hotel towards the end of March this year. The hotel is in the perfect location for the beach and the Harbour. it is also opposite the bus stops so there is easy access to all the tourist spots. We found the Hotel to be clean spacious and the staff very friendly. The breakfast is plentiful and all you need with cooked and continental. We will certainly stay here again and will recommend this Hotel to everyone. Also has a free wi fi

This hotel is situated at the end of the port, 10min walk from the beach, Las Ramblas and Ciutadella Park, with easy access to the Metro and busses. The room were comfortable and clean. But it was the staff that made the stay memorable. They were so kind and accommodating. They couldn’t have been more helpful. I have been to Barcelona many times and stayed in different hotels throughout the city. This is the best by far! Thank you!

The hotel del mar is located in a very good location, close to the harbour, beach and the park, it does an excellent breakfast and the rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff are friendly and helpful.

We have just returned from Barcelona and were so pleased with the location of the of this hotel. Staff were very helpful and polite. We did have a problem with our initial room so the next day we were given the option to swop or upgrade to a top floor terrace room which had just become available. We jumped at the chance to upgrade, the room had great views to the marina from the very generous sized balcony. We are very grateful to the manager of the reception for offering this upgrade as it made our holiday! The breakfast room is very clean and tidy as is the rest of the hotel. We would stay here again as its well placed for the beach which is about a 10 min walk and as previously mentioned the marina is minutes away.

What a find! Lovely staff, very pleasant room (408) with sun terrace. Excellent buffet breakfast. The hotel is spotlessly clean and staffed by very helpful people. We think the hotel deserves at least an extra star but realise this three star hotel is rated on its available services. Nothing was too much trouble and the front desk always had an answer and sound advice when needed. The location is so convenient and ideally situated for getting around. The Barcelona Tourist Bus stop is in the square and bus stops nearby. Port Velland Barceloneta are within walking distance. Do pay the little extra for a room safe. Carry copies of your passport not the originals. When paying by UK card it is better to pay In Euros not Pounds. There are many dining spots nearby all varied in style. We liked Patapam and The Green Spot (veggie) in the immediately adjacent Reina Cristina street.

We booked a room with terrace overlooking the harbour. The view was wonderful, however the room temperature was unbearable. The air conditioning was not working & we were offered to move hotel at 23.30 pm or to have it repaired the following day . We stayed at the hotel as we did not want to move so late at night. After going out the next day we returned to the hotel to discover the air conditioning had not been repaired as it was a Spanish holiday!!! The dining room was also extremely hot .... maybe the hotels air conditioning was not working!!!! Don’t say here if you can not stand the heat!!!

This hotel is in a good location, minutes from the beach, close to the Metro and within easy walking distance of the old town. Breakfast includes the normal continental fair, fruits and the continental version of an English breakfast, which, as always, is nearly right. Staff always have a smile and are helpful. I would have given 4 stars but for the hard beds (you may like that) and the lack of facilities, no tea or coffee in the rooms, no bar. If you are looking for a place to sleep with no frills in a good location then this is a place you should consider. If you are looking for more, then look elsewhere.

No problems. Staff friendly. Clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Pillows a bit hard. Room 309 looks out on to a main road. Bit noisy especially on a Friday evening but did not bother us. Not far from public transport. We walked everywhere except for Park Guell which you can catch the V19 bus near to hotel which drops you right outside. Breakfast was fine and is served until 10.30 plentiful but not varied. All tasted good and filled us until lunch time. Put the door hanger out if you wanted your room made up. We came back about 16.00 and realised that it seems you need to do that. All though house keeping did walk in at 16.30 asking if towels needed changing...a little embarrasing as one of us walking around having justs exited the shower. Overall I would recommend this hotel it was a comfortable stay with no real issues. The location was great and there were plenty of restaurants and super markets near by. There was a small fridge in the room and a safe. Shame no kettle or tea making facilities. Warnings in the breakfast room not to take anything or drinks. I guess some guests were filling pockets for the really is not necessary as you can eat cheaply enough outside the hotel. I would stay here again.

Just back from a 4 night stay here. Check in simple and quick. Hotel from the parts i seen of it was clean. Our room was 208 - overlooking a busy street (can be a bit noisy with traffic and horns beeping but wasn’t enough to keep us awake). Had a small veranda which was nice to step out on for some fresh air. Room was clean and had what you needed for a basic city break. Telly (only 1 british channel that I could find though). Large wardrobe. Safe. Small fridge. Bath and shower. Telephone. Hairdryer in bathroom (bring your own one girls if you have long thick hair - takes a while to dry your hair). No iron but there is an option to pay staff for some items to be ironed. Maid cleaned room and replenished towels everyday. Location we found was perfect. Anywhere we wanted to go seemed to be the most 10/15 minutes walk away either way but doesn’t even feel like that when you start walking and taking in all the wee streets and alleys. So many restaurants and bars right on the doorstep of this hotel also. And from what i seen - plenty of public transport around. Although we just walked everywhere we wanted to during the trip. There is a vending machine at reception which is good for late night munchies and juice if you don’t want to go back out to the shops. Rated this hotel excellent as even though it isn’t a luxury hotel - we came across no problems at all when we were here and found the hotel perfect for what we were looking for which was a laid back city break hotel with a great location. We would use this hotel again if coming back to Barcelona :)
