Nice hotel in a good location. Good breakfast. good, spacious, clean and modern room. Between the bottom end of Diagonal and the beach. Close to the mini-Rambla and best of all just round the corner from the cooking school, where you can eat the best gourmet lunch ever for only 22 Euro!!
I spent a week at this hotel due to its proximity to the great Barcelona beaches and being away from the noise of Barcelona city centre. On these two fronts the hotel hit the mark. But that was it. It’s a business hotel serving the conference centre so the rooms are bland and beige with no warmth or character. The staff are efficient but not friendly. The pool is tiny and I’d fine for a plunge but not for a swim. The walls are paper thin so you can hear the person in the next room snoring (and get woken up by their alarm). Maybe the redeeming feature was the breakfasts which were excellent. Basically this hotel lacks any of the details that would make it in any way special. Disappointing. With very little effort it could be so much better. Three stars at best.
Breakfast was very good. Rooms ok. Bathroom is rather small. Price that was mentioned at reservation and the price I had to pay was not the same. (difference of more than 50 euro) Nice pool. Good location to CCIB, reason why I booked this hotel.
The staff are fantastic and extremely friendly. Breakfast was great with lots of variety. Disappointed with the standard rooms the double bed is two single beds pushed together which made for a terrible night's sleep. We upgraded to a premium room for only 9€ more which was well worth it the bed was a massive improvement.
Arrived at the hotel and the entrance is nice, the foyer and reception are lovely. Check in was prompt and fast and we were soon in our room. The double bed was 2 single beds were 2 single beds pushed together which should not be the case at a 4 star hotel. Other than that the room was nice and clean with a large and accommodating bathroom with shower gels ect complementary. The rooms were cleaned everyday to a high standard so welldone to the house keepers. The walls are paper thin, on the first night I hardly slept due to someone snoring next door, seriously It was that bad. On the second night I was hoping our neighbours had left but no more snoring so about 11pm I went to reception to ask for a pair of earplugs and i was told that they didnt have any but if i took a 5 minute cab i could get some, also not something I would expect from a 4 star hotel. The roof terrace was lovely and the views were fab, the tour of the water tower next door is well worth it and only cost 10 euros for the 3 of us, well worth it for the views at the top alone. The pool was lovely but freezing (expected in April) I would say the breakfast was rather expensive and there is a beautiful just round the corner a 2 minute walk at the end of the block ( Bar Restaurant Albatros) that done fantastic breakfast lunch and dinner at a fraction of the price. I did enjoy the hotel and the price was right, tips would be to take earplugs! On a final note there is a mini fridge in the room which is handy, and an easy to work safe.
Really nice clean hotel, only downside would be that both rooms we booked had single beds pushed together instead of double beds as requested, the air conditioning is centrally controlled so when switched on it was only hot air..no cold! But the staff were all very friendly.
The hotel is conveniently situated near a supermarket, the Metro -Selva de Mar, the Diagonal Mar shopping centre, the beach, it is also right by a stop of the open top bus the Barcelona BusTuristic and near to Barcelona Beach Bikes (see separate review) We hadn’t included breakfast as part of our stay however, on arrival were told that if we had breakfast it was €15 per person per day, or €9 per person per day if we took it for the duration of our stay. We chose to have it for the duration and I can’t say we were disappointed. The only criticism is that the coffee from the machine wasn’t very nice and we chose to have instant. There was a good variety of cereals, fruit juices, fruit, pastries, bread, rolls, salad, yoghurts, cheese, cold meats as well as fried and scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage. If you don’t want to have breakfast there is a nearby patisserie where you can get something. The room was of a good size and was cleaned daily to a good standard and toiletries were provided along with fresh towels if required. All the staff were helpful and when we had a problem with the toilet in our room which couldn’t be fixed, they gave us an alternative room straight away. There is a small pool on the roof, however it isn’t heated and was very cold although I’m sure it’s warmer in the summer. I would definitely stay here again and liked the location.
I would stay here again, the hotel is in a good location, good value, clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was well stocked and fresh. The food served at the bar was OK but if there was one thing I would improve it would be that.
The hotel is in a quiet location but very close the sea and promenade which has lots of restaurants reasonably priced. The hotel has a roof top pool with great views.its also close by the metro. The breakfast was good and the room service was excellent.
The hotel seems nice and shiny, with a large reception area. There are two elevators that I could not hear from my room (which was in the middle of the floor). The room itself was quite big, and included a full bath, new and shiny, and also a bidet. There was some problem with the connection of the toilet sit to the floor. The room had plywood floor. WiFi was always available but Internet had to be re-connected occasionally after not being used. The location is at the northern end of the Diagonal Avenue, which is not the center of the city, but close to a metro station. There is an atmosphere of a "suburb", which means the streets are less crowded and the area has more open spaces. There is a big shopping mall (the Diagonal Mar) walking distance from the hotel. The service was good, but they did not agree to extend my stay at the last day by two hours (due to a late flight) without additional payment. Breakfast was great and I was offered a good deal for it. In addition to the standard things, there were several new creative dishes introduced every morning, which made the experience delightful.
