My boyfriend and I chose this hotel, didn't know what to expect but it was honestly such a great find. Our room was modern, it wasn't the biggest but we had a comfy bed and had everything that we needed such as a good shower, toilet, AC, tv etc. It was simple and met our every needs. The hotel is in a great location, literally only a 5 min walk to Las Ramblas. I would definitely book this place again.
I won't advice you to live there in July, I wasn't able to find air condition. It's ok for one night but its a shame for it's location. Work on service is much needed. The room was ok, make sure to print your confirmation, going the extra for the customer was not their thing. I was asked "what do you expect from 2stars hotel"? My reply everything on the web but then again it's a 2star and for me a 1 star should nev3r ask customers such a crazy question. Barcelona is a city with endless of hotels and hostels make sure to have a look around, so book one night and find that which suits you. You might even like the place.
Just came back from a 7 days stay at this Hotel with my husband and 16 year old . It was everything we were looking for and more. The subway was less then 10 min walk, la Rambla also, rooms were clean and the daily service was excellent. Everyone at the front desk, especially Marc, were not only very nice but very helpful with any questions we had. Only thing missing was a mini fridge but beside that we would definitely go back again.
I visited Barcelona for 4 days with a friend and we stayed here for all 4 nights. This is a small hotel in a quaint little neighborhood - great location, close to the subway, close to La Rambla and lots of eating/drinking places. The hotel staff is kind and considerate, very accommodating. The rooms are clean, comfortable, although small but we had no complaints. In fact, the room that we got on the first night was slightly small so when we requested for a bigger one, the hotel staff kindly agreed and gave us a room with a balcony for just 10 euros a night more! Will definitely stay here again :)
Summary of stay: This is a nice boutique and small hotel situated in a good location, with most of the necessary factors that will make your stay comfortable. Location: The hotel is situated along a small street, and the nearest train station is around a 5-7 min walk. There are convenient stores within 1-2 minutes of the hotel, where you can buy all your required necessities (e.g. water, toiletries). There is a nice select of food available within 1-20 minutes walk from the hotel, from quick and reasonably priced food (e.g. burgers, kebabs, pastries, pizzas), to good restaurants (e.g. authentic catalan restaurants, tapas, paella). If you enjoy longer walks, you can walk towards the main city areas. Room: I stayed by myself in a very clean, no-nonsense room. Fully functional double bed, toilet, air con, shower. Note that there will be no toothbrushes/toothpaste/combs/shavers, so you have to bring those yourself. They also only provide 2 disposable cups, and no glass/plastic cups. There is also only 1 small rectangular table, but that worked for me as all i needed was a table to use my laptop on. Overall, although small, the room was very comfortable and was all i needed for my stay. Stay experience: The receptionists all spoke good english, and were nice and helpful. There is only 1 small lift servicing 6 floors, generally there were no problems, only 1 time where i had to wait for 1-2 minutes for it. The room cleaning was good. The breakfast buffet has a nice spread for a small hotel, with bread, pastries, cereal, ham, fruits among others, and tasted quite good. If you need coffee or tea, you can use the coffee machine or get tea bags from the breakfast area throughout the day. Top likes summary: Location was good, hotel was clean. Top dislikes summary: No shaver/comb, glass cups.
We stayed in Barcelona at this location for 3 nights. We're 2 adults in our early 40's and do not speak any Spanish or derivative thereof. The purpose of the trip was a two week europe travel vacation and we had a blast. First, the location is wonderful. It is in proximity to everything; we walked everywhere we went in our short stay. It felt less touristy and more local; we found that many of the bars and restaurants did not cater directly to tourists (which is a good thing in my opinion). Not everyone in Barcelona is happy to have tourists (denoted by the "tourism kills the city" stickers posted around the city and a few places having signs saying they did not speak any English - meaning don't come in here in you're not Catalonian), but we never felt unwelcome at all. In fact, despite the language barrier and our lack of familiarity with local routines and customs, we felt welcome and very much at home in this laid back neighborhood. We walked all over the city and definitely felt this neighborhood suited out personalities the best. Now for the hotel. Check in was a breeze. The gentleman who checked us in spoke perfect English and although we were exhausted from being awake for 30+ hours, he was kind and accommodating. Our room overlooked the vibrant, local scene, including skateboarders and locals just hanging out enjoying the outdoors and one another's' company. There was a small balcony where you could hang out, but once you closed the balcony door, you could not hear things going on outside. So, despite other reviews, we did not find outdoor noise to be an issue at all. Our room was a typical size for mid-priced rooms in Europe and our bed was super comfy. Although small, the room was very comfortable for two adults (one of whom is 6'5") with a great deal of luggage. The bathroom was spacious and clean, and had plenty of hot water (and great water pressure). We did not eat at the hotel so I cannot comment on that. Oh, and the wifi was free and fast. Honestly, if back in Barcelona, I'd stay here again. No question.
Hotel itself was quite nice! Staff was super accommodating, friendly, and gave great suggestions on things to do. We didn't speak very good Spanish but they explained everything well with no judgement. Overall, our experience with the staff was worth 5 stars. Location was great! It's in walking distance to La Rambla, so restaurants and shops were nearby and easy to talk to. The only complaint about the location was it's proximity to a large skatepark area. It doesn't start in early morning or happen late at night, so it's not a big deal, but you definitely hear it throughout the day. Not bothersome of you're out exploring during the day. We didn't have breakfast, so no comment there. It's not a luxurious hotel, but it's perfect for something easy and quaint. I'd definitely recommend this hotel, especially for the great price.
We found this hotel ideal for a 4 night stay in Barcelona with friends. We wanted to be out most of the time, so our key criteria were comfortable beds, good shower and quiet room. We had a superior room at the back of the hotel on the 3rd floor which met all of these criteria very well. Nice to have a balcony to step out onto as well, though admittedly no view, and unfurnished. We had breakfast as part of our rate, and there was a very good cold buffet spread though a couple of items could have been better quality such as the juice and the yoghurt. It certainly set you up for the day though. The icing on the cake was having a lovely little bar, Casa Almirall only a few yards away. It's one of the oldest in Barcelona and very characterful - great for an aperitif or nightcap.
Cute, clean and comfortable hotel in El Raval. Very close to Gothic Quarter and University Plaza (incl Metro stop, and bus stop from airport). Not sure why it is only two stars. Will definitely stay here again.
This is the 2nd Acta Hotel we have stayed in and I prefer this one, is central, easy to get to the Bari Gothic La Rambla etc...... Rooms are clean, towels were very good, large , soft and fluffy! We overlooked the street which could be noisy with the window open but we had the aircon on, even in April this was needed. Staff were pleasant and helpful when i messed up the safe combination which is free. As mentioned before free tea and coffee machine which is a very nice touch, we didn't have breakfast in the hotel , a must is breakfast at Pinotxo Bar in the Mercat de la Boqueria on La Rambla, it's a tapas bar but they do pastries in the mornings well as tapas, get there early though as it gets very busy, we were there for 08.30 am. Free wifi which I found worked very well. When you come out of the hotel, take a left, then another left and you are in the Placa dels Angels, this is the quickest way we found to cut through to La Rambla. This sq though is full of skateboarders, the smell of dope etc.......we encountered no problems though . This is a very nice hotel and will book it again next time we come to Barcelona.
