Good location

Nice condo in a good location for a ski weekend. A little dated but overall was clean with the exception of floors as they needed to be mopped. Unfortunately the ceilings are pretty thin and this being a downstairs unit, well, you can hear every footstep upstairs. It was pretty bad the fist night with tenants coming in after midnight and staying up until 2am. Just something to be aware of. All in all it was a good rental for the price and location

Uncomfortable

Jacuzzi tub didn’t work and took overnight to drain the cold water it filled up with. Shower was tiny but the water was hot. One of the neighbors parked their car directly in front of the stairs so it was hard to physically walk in/out. One of the living room chairs was terribly uncomfortable which isn’t a big deal, we just sat somewhere else. Overall just felt like less than what we paid for.

Just like Grandma's house (not in a good way)

I will start with saying this is a great location. Its very close to the slopes. The area is quiet and we felt safe. This condo was a bit like stepping back into the late 80's/ early 90's with its authentically retro decor. As someone who has had to replace 3 of our 6 appliances in the past few years I'm genuinely impressed that the appliances still work; they've really gotten their $ worth! I will say, this is not the place to stay if you're looking for a clean or modern aesthetic. This condo gets the job done if you're looking for a safe warm place to lay your head, but if your standards are higher than that I would look elsewhere.

Weekend getaway

The best part of the place was the view from the balcony! It does not do it justice . The place itself is a Lil dated but overall good. We enjoyed staying here. The only reason why I gave it 3 stars was because we were not informed prior to our arrival that the main living room tv was not working. We informed vacasa and vacasa let us know that the property manager knew before hand but yet didn't let us know. No one would bring us a new one and would not fix the problem. We reached out to the property manager and no response back from them.

Great View!

The best thing about this property is the beautiful view looking over a valley toward Beech Mountain. Also, the neighborhood up on Sugar Mountain is very quiet and peaceful with many birds to keep you entertained. It is a convenient location close to Lowes supermarket, The Pedalin' Pig for delicious BBQ and to Banner Elk for more restaurants. Hiking is also close within a half hour to hour drive to many great hikes. A short drive up to Grandfather Mountain and it's magnificent views! The condo itself is of late 1980's vintage and could use some updating. It was clean but there were things that needed to be addressed. The toilet seat needs to be replaced (old and peeling paint), the couch and matching checkered chair need to have their upholstery cleaned to freshen them up, the king size mattress, pillows and bedding need to be replaced and the throws in the chest located in living room need to be laundered. We realize these issues are outside of the maid's control. They are doing the best job they can with what there is to work with.

Amazing view!

The condo was great. Plenty of room for the two of us. The view is amazing, even at night with Beech Mountain lit up on front of you. Nice little porch to enjoy that view or you can see it from the livingroom windows once it's so cold to sit outside. The bed was comfy and warm. Only drawback was the common area need a good cleaning. There was a dirty diaper on the landing. The kitchen fluorescent light needs to have the cover removed and given a good cleaning. The dishwasher looked to be falling out of the cabinet. Some attention to detail with cleaning would get this place 5 stars.

Nice place but no air conditioning

This place was a nice condo with a amazing view of the mountains. It was very clean and homey. Only downside there's no air conditioning for people that want to rent this place out in the summer months. Luckily it gets cool up in the mountains at night. We opened the windows and left the patio door open to cool it off inside.

I thought the home had charm. The view from the back balcony was amazing. The place needs a lot of updates and be freshened up. Otherwise I enjoyed the gas fireplace, flatscreen TVs, internet, and most of all the view. The location was also nice being close to the ski resort.

Nice floor plan, but...

The location high up on Sugar Mountain offers good views fro porch in back. The floor plan is excellent and the mattress firm. Furniture and kitchen seriously dated, cleaner could have done more thorough job.

Poor Mattress

The king Mattress was not comfortable and worn out. Thermostats had no temperature setting or indicators so it was difficult to adjust and regulate to where it needed to be. Gas fireplace was only operated with an on/off switch too close to the fire so it was very hot to touch just to turn off. We were only supplied with a paper towel roll that was almost empty and 8-10 napkins. Had to fight for parking as the unit above us was parking two cars when only allowed for one.

Room with a view

It was a lovely space, even though it’s dated. It was clean and welcoming and the view from the deck was incredible! The bed was stiff as a board and could use updating, at least a really thick memory foam topper. We had trouble finding a way to reach the property manager after booking online. I couldn’t find it anywhere in the email communication sent to me. We had a few questions during our stay. The space was just right otherwise and we enjoyed it, spacious living room for a movie night after a long day of hiking!
