Unforgettable mountain views!

Come renew your spirit in our fully furnished luxury mountaintop retreat located in The Reserve, a new condo development high on Sugar Mountain. From your perch at 5000 feet, you will enjoy breathtaking mountain sunsets while you relax on the large deck, chill (or warm by the gas-log fireplace!) in the great room, or snuggle in the master bedroom. Or you can walk to the top of the Sugar Mountain ski lifts to enjoy the Southeast’s best skiing. We call our place “Granddaughter Mountain.” We offer a spacious primary suite, a guest room, and a loft, with a bathroom for each of the 3 sleeping areas. The primary suite offers a king bed and a Jacuzzi tub, and it opens onto the large deck. The second bedroom boasts a queen bed. The sofa in the loft becomes a bed. Stay in touch with wi-fi, or retreat to the large-screen TV. Whatever the season, the views are spectacular, and the list of activities in the area is endless. You’ll be only minutes from Boone, Blowing Rock, Linville, Valle Crucis, and, of course, Grandfather Mountain.

So come, sit by the fire or relax on the cool deck and enjoy the High Country!

Please note: Winter weather at our almost 5,000-foot elevation can bring snow, sleet, and/or freezing rain. Snow chains or all-wheel-drive are essential in winter months.

This is a fantastic property! It is incredibly well stocked - we were able to cook full meals and did not have to bring any spices or basics. They also have a fantastic hot drink selection - cocoa, spiced apple cider and many varieties of teas that we all enjoyed. We had an issue with the HVAC, but Annie was so wonderful and proactive that it was just a blip on our weekend. The views are beyond amazing and the condo is beautifully and comfortably furnished. We will definitely return!

Amazing view, thoughtful host

I reserved this place for the view. Came for a family snow tubing adventure. Mother Nature delivered a spectacular winter wonderland for us just in time. Annie was very helpful in relaying key information- a 4WD vehicle was a must to get to the top of the mountain in the heavy snow. The condo was super cozy with the gas fireplace, plenty of spices in the kitchen, and again that gorgeous view. My son left a small toy and they even notified me and shipped it to me. Great hosts and lovely location! We will be back!

Nothing short of amazing

My family and I vacation a lot. We value the time we have with one another and I share that to say, Annie is one of the most hospitable VRBO hosts we’ve ever encountered. She, alone, makes me want to return. As if that wasn’t enough, the pictures do not do her rental justice! It’s inviting, cozy, and convenient. We felt secluded, yet, were so close to everything. It’s the perfect size. It’s spacious, yet we weren’t all spread out. It was stocked with more than we could imagine. If we return to Sugar Mountain, we wouldn’t be able to stay anywhere else! The views were the cherry on top. We usually are all ready to come home the last day or vacation, but none of us wanted to leave. An 11/10 recommendation would be underrating this beautiful place.

Spring break ski getaway

Our first family ski trip was great thanks to our host Annie. My three son’s and I had a blast exploring the snow and ice surroundings of the property. The views were breathtaking every morning from our balcony. Sugar ski mountain was a five minute car ride from the property. We ventured out to the Alpine Mountain Coaster (make reservations prior to arrival). If you’re into steak try Stonewalls in Banner Elk just a short 15 minute scenic drive. The Peddlin Pig didn’t disappoint if you are into bar-b-que, the roasted Turkey tray was fantastic. We brought home some amazing looking rocks with gorgeous colors from the little mining spot across from the Sugar Mountain Ski slope. The condo had everything you could need for a home away from home could possibly have. Just bring your own personal snacks or food to cook. The spices, pots & pans, etc are all there. Annie, the host, made our stay so comfortable and memorable with her warm hospitality. We will definitely be back again to make more family memories. Thank you so much for everything ❤️
