The Snorkelling was amazing, loads of life and very diverse just off the house reef. We were all inclusive which was nice for ease and not worrying about what you spend since everything was very expensive. Just slightly limited for food. 3 set meal times and only one buffet restaurant included. However food was lovely and fresh and varied even over a 2 week stay.
NEGATIVE POINTS: - all inclusive is not really all included, all inclusive guests only get 1 snack per day and can only eat 1 time for breakfast lunch and dinner in the buffet, no restaurants included. - can only eat 3x a day as a full board guest cannot go back for dessert later on they check your room number and tell you they will bill your room if you do that. - limited alcohol selection for all inclusive guests - no strawberry dakarai, baileys etc. - asked to leave as soon as meal serve time reaches or if you want any more food you need to be ready to leave right at time the opening hours are coming up. - restaurants are in US dollars and pricey - noisy harbour with boats constantly in and out not far from our beach villa - lots of waves from boats causing very wavy swimming conditions on our side - construction going on were never made aware or warned, very noisy unsightly - A lot of Indian sometimes Chinese/Thai dishes every day - not much variety and the meats are rather chewy not like a Canadian steak expect much different texture - water tastes bad, its suppose to be reverse osmosis in still refillable bottles however I currently am on antibiotics for travellers direa and had stomach issues the whole trip so I would say something in sanitation needs to be looked after we paid thousands of dollars I would appreciate not getting an infection if I am travelling to a resort. - pillows are a bit flat - steep set of stairs to get to bedroom in the villas, and washroom is half outdoors downstairs making for an uncomfortable night of up and down with stomach trouble - slippery floor, no indoor slippers are provided just a warning its slippery signage - coral has no colour sadly bleached out the reef is not what it is made out to be for colour of the coral not being anything to rave about in our opinion - boat transfer is very expensive works out to about $250 CAN for 2 people round trip for about a 15 min ride with other guests on board. - no organized sports activity, my husband was hoping for a pick up game of soccer or something with the guys but even the tennis we had to pay on full board - entertainment was lousy 1 karaoke night, 1 maldives history presentation night, a couple local singer nights but not much exciting talent or good music really POSITIVE POINTS - person waiting at airport to guide you from airport to boat transfer - life jackets and water bottles on sea boat - bring your luggage’s to your room - room was close walk to reception and buffet restaurant - close beach access - comfortable beach chairs - always a chair available at the bungalow however the standard rooms had a busier beach with a lot more guests whereas our area was limited to less than 5 people on the beach at a time making it relaxing and very secluded and private to properly enjoy - fairly good desserts - friendly staff - Faizan our waiter and his team were excellent and Mohamad our room cleaner was wonderful as well, their service was exceptional - good room cleaning and fantastic anniversary room decoration and dinner table decor - saw 1 small turtle black tip reef sharks small string rays and other marine life staff was very professional trained in safety efficient and was a nice snorkelling trip overall
Definitely recommended! This is a serene private resort where you can feel at home. The staff of the resort is well-trained. Professional, helpful and kind. They provide efficient service. We booked a double standard room and it was enough for our three-days stay. Amenities are provided. The room service isn’t bad as well! Food in the restaurants are delicious and filling as well. They offer water sports activities and they have different activities every day at night. It’s like a theme in their restaurants. Souvenir shops are available inside the resort too. We were welcomed warmly as well as good bye’s and thank you’s were genuinely shared at check out. Perfect for all type of travellers and vacationers! ♥️ Bring a universal adaptor for chargers :-) they have umbrella in the room and they provide bottles of water and new towels everyday. Also, there’s a safety security box inside the room to keep your valuables protected. The ambience of the entire resort is very relaxing, well-maintained and clean. We came this October and we saw they’re doing an expansion of more villas and accommodation. The construction didn’t bother our stay at all. It’s a plus for them to expand new rooms! Congrats! We enjoyed our stay.
Very clean environment with friendly staff. Kids friendly meal options in the buffet make it family friendly place. Beaches are well maintained. Pick up and drop off are promptly done as per your itinerary.
Bandos was a great experience would love to go back .My 4 year old was in love with the place .Huvan , Sandbar and Gallery restaurant staff were very polite and gave great service .Bandos took care of all what I had asked for . Chef Ishan personally came to speak to us about our food preference and made sure we got Indian food options in all meals . Staff is extra prompt and polite .I booked a all inclusive package for the whole family and the experience was more than awesome. Billing experience was smooth .We got what was promised , no hassles .My parents asked me to mention that -Dal Maharani , Indian mutton curry were out of the world. Each staff member tries to out do themselves , even my parents pointed out the same .Loved the experience overall .Would love to go back again . · Overall I loved the stay .Housekeeping has scope for improvement .Room cleaning can be better .The service takes long if you ask for tea packets etc refill , may be because the island resort was full .Also even after I had checked on email , and they said baby bottle cleaning and sterilization will be done .I was denied when I asked house keeping for it .
Bandos is a great resort with lovely beaches. The sky line on one side of the island is very busy due Male so can take away from the tranquil side of the Malidives. The all inclusive is good value for money and the buffet restaurant food was of a good standard and always varied. I would have expected more of a discount on the other restaurants.
I really enjoyed my stay at Bandos. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The lay out of the island is nice. They even upgraded us at the end of your stay for free!!. its a very beautiful island!
Very confortable, good services and treat of the professionals. The beachs are spectacular the food is varied. The pool bar is great but i would add some cocktails more and something to eat. In general the hotel is very good and the people are of 10, great professionals. Great holidays in a great resort!
It was amazing visit,we ate indian food dal and paneer makhani amazing food, first time had such indian food out of india, thanks bandos,if u want to have great expirence of hospitality thn visit bandos.
Location, location, location! It's a 15min (very fun!) speedboat ride from Malé, which is convenient after a long trip from home. The island is naturally beautiful and very well taken care of. It's got the typical white sand beaches, turquoise waters, coconut trees, tropical flowers and exotic animals. In addition, all outdoor spaces are kept clean. Our room, on the north part of the island, was comfy and spotless clean, with just a few steps to get to the gorgeous ocean waters. We were on the all included package which required us to have all meals at the buffet restaurant. That was great value for the money, as the food was very good and diverse. The Maldivian themed night was a nice surprise. Go to Huvan at around 5:30PM, ask for a drink, and treat yourself to a gorgeous sunset. A worthy remark: no one tried to sell us expensive drinks and food out of the all included menu, which we appreciated. We went on the glass bottom boat excursion. If you can, go for it. You'll see Nemo and Dory lookalikes, plus sharks, stingrays, moray eels, etc. Last but not least, the staff. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and polite, makings us feel special every time we met them. A big thank you to Ismail, the property's general manager, who kindly spent a few minutes chatting with us before we boarded the boat back to the airport. He stood for everything we loved about the Maldives and its people. We plan on returning some day.
