Brilliant place, we had walks, pub meals, bike rides. Could have done with some oven gloves and a hand mixer to make cakes. A few cleaning products would have helped (we bought our own and left them for next occupants.). Its location is brilliant for star gazing from the hot tub. It’s an easy walk to Bamburgh through the fields, a trip out to the Farne islands is a must.

Lovely rural property
The house is large and spacious, but upstairs bedrooms are compromised by low sloping ceilings - especially in wet rooms. Perfect for taking dogs, as it is surrounded by fields and just a 10 minutes ramble from Bamburgh. Good facilities, but cleanliness not so good, and fancy fridge/freezer was not working properly.

A tricky time of the year!
We've stayed previously next door at the The Duke (which is why we came back to stay at The Duchess). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Duchess - the layout of the property lends itself very well to holiday-makers. The area is great, the location is peaceful but central enough to Bamburgh's amenities/beaches etc. Beautiful views from the hot tub. Surprisingly we found that the space wasn't as clean as we'd come to expect from having stayed next door - we also encountered some issues with faulty equipment (which given the time of year, Steven was unable to resolve during our stay - though financial recompense was offered and gratefully received. We suspect our issues were linked to the time of year, as we'd not had issues like this before with the same owners/managing agents. We'd happily return.

Family weekend
We had a fantastic get-together for a family of 3 generations. The weather was kind so we were able to play on the court. My grand-children are still in carriers and dogs well-trained so we walked over styles and fields to Bamburgh for a lovely beach walk. It’s a short drive if you have a pram or are unwilling to walk a section on the busy road. The Duchess was clean and comfortable.
