Wow viceroy impressed me in every way. From checkin to the villa itself, to the cascades restaurant, everything is 5 star. Breakfast is delicious!! The view is amazing. Spa was too notch. The room was airy and decorated tastefully. I cannot find anything that complain. Love ubud love viceroy. If we have a chance we will come back. Thank you for a lovely stay!!!
My new wife and I had a phenomenal time at the Viceroy. Aside from the luxurious villa with private pool and suspended gazebo overlooking waterfalls hundreds of feet below, it was the staff and service that truly made the experience memorable. We saw the owners, Otto and Margaret, almost daily. They always greeted us very warmly and checked with their staff to make sure that we were always cared for. It was impossible to lounge by their serene community infinity pool or walk into their richly decorated restaurant with jungle views without at least 3 or 4 employees greeting us and checking to see if we had any questions or needs. My wife and I loved taking the hotel's complimentary buggies up to the restaurant every morning and ordering sometimes over 7 different plates from their delicious breakfast menu. Part of it was so we had plenty of fuel in our stomachs to adventure in and around Ubud, and part of it was just our wanting to try everything on their vast and amazing menu. There is simply too many great things to say about this hotel. We definitely plan to stay here next time we visit Bali! Thank you Viceroy!
The resort is relatively small with ~30ish villas scattered across the property. After staying at the Four Seasons, my wife and I spent 6 nights here and it was a nice change of pace. The resort is a little more reasonable than some of the bigger name hotels like the Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton. The service, accommodations, food, and grounds are equivalent. It is far enough away from the hustle bustle of Ubud that it is relaxing, but a quick cab ride into town. I didn't get to see inside of the other villas, as they are private with their own gated entrances, but the Vice Regal Villa I was enormous. The private pool was larger than the one I grew up with in New Jersey. The villas all overlook the jungle valley with a river running through it. The enormous private yard/pool with its views, coupled with the excellent room service leaves little reason to leave the villa for anything other than daily excursions or shopping in town. The daily breakfast that is included with your stay is incredible. You can basically order anything you can think of and they will make it. All juices are fresh squeezed. We wouldn't change a thing about this resort.
My partner and I spent 4 beautiful days at The Viceroy in Ubud for the start of our honeymoon in Bali. From the first moment of arrival the setting of the hotel is amazing set back from the busy centre of Ubud. It is pure relaxation and luxury. The staff are all so happy to help, you don't feel pressured to do anything and can wander around at your own leisure. The shuttle service was wonderful and we picked up some good tips for where to go to eat and what local dishes to try. We did a half day tour with Chess as our driver and guide, full of local knowledge and so lovely and happy to just chat to. The villa was bright and open with the private pool perfect for cooling off after a hot day. We would both love to come back and stay at the Viceroy hopefully for a longer period of time. Absolutely the best hotel we've stayed at. Love that the owners are on site daily also to welcome guest and ensure they have the perfect holiday. Thank you to all the staff for helping to make our stay special.
Beautiful place I feels like paradise 😍 The food is superb! The spa massage is so relaxing... I enjoyed to stay in the pool everyday. The staff is very accommodating. Highly recommended 👍 I will come back again with my family.
We stayed here for our honeymoons second leg and WOW, it's just superb. The view is breathtaking to the point I had a few tears in my eyes on arrival!! The staff, the food, the villas, the view just perfect especially for couples. It's expensive to stay but worth every single penny. You feel truly blessed to be here.
My husband and I checked into the Viceroy following an 8 day stay in the Samaya Seminyak. We received a welcome drink and was then taken to our villa, we had paid for a vice regal villa costing £700 per night. The room was nice but not as grand as I had expected, it also smelt a little musty, a few things I felt were missing, no dressing table and chair, the hairdryer was next to the sink but nowhere to put your brushes, make up or hair products. I know this may sound minor but it's a bit awkward as a women trying to apply your make up from the sink. The villa pool was beautiful with lovely views of the forest. What the hotel forgot to mention was that they were carrying out a construction, consequently on our first day all we could hear was a grinder and dust traveling past out villa. We did mention this to reception but they told us it's not going to last long as Ramadan will begin soon so the construction work will stop. Also I would have liked a drying post for wet costumes but we didn't have one, perhaps it would be a good idea to supply one in the future. Would prevent draping wet clothes over the furniture. The restaurant was very picturesque and the food was amazing but it lacked atmosphere, the only saving grace was the bar man, Albert, who was very chatty. Breakfast was plentiful but again seemed to lack something! The staff got our names wrong our villa wrong and on one morning they just left me sat at the table and didn't even acknowledge me! The turn down service was lovely and each night you got a little chocolate on your pillow (nice touch). My husband had to ask for coffee replacements as the staff forgot to do this on two occasions (we were only staying 3 nights). Bagia was our driver for a half day tour around Abud, what a great experience, he made us feel wonderful and took us to some great places. Big thank you to him. Again we booked the trip at the reception and they had organised but when Bagia picked us up he had no idea were we were going!! Following a recommendation from the hotel reception, we reserved a table at an Indian restaurant in Abud, the driver collected us at reception then took us to the wrong restaurant and just left us there. We then had to ring the hotel and ask them to find the correct restaurant that they had booked for us. The reception staff don't appear to correspond with each other. Our last night at the resort was quite frankly ruined. The staff did apologise and offered us free transportation the following day to the airport. Overall We didn't think the hotel was as friendly as the Samaya and I think the service could be better. Sadly we were looking for a honeymoon destination for our daughter, but we have ruled this one out as I feel other hotel villas can provide a better service. Overall we were both disappointed with the Viceroy experience.
Paradise, privacy and luxury. The food was incredible, service outstanding. The room was huge and the private pool such a great touch. The infinity pool in the main area was breathtaking and we had the most incredible time. There is so much to do and see in Ubud, if you can take yourself away from this beauty!
We stayed in the Viceroy Villa 1. The room was spacious and most of all very private. We had an awesome private pool that could not be seen from any other Villa without climbing a wall. This meant you could roll out of bed into the pool. Beside the pool was a table for four where we enjoyed a room service dinner. At one point we noted the air conditioner was leaking. We reported this to the front desk and it was promptly addressed. Since the resort is built on a hill we utilized the buggies to get to the lobby. We did walk once and it was nice, but once was enough. The hotel provided a shuttle into town which we took advantage of a couple of times. They also, for a price of course, were able to arrange transport back to the airport. As breakfast was included and we left at a very early hour they provided us with a beautiful continental breakfast to enjoy on the ride to the airport. The room was spotless with fresh flowers and the staff went out of their way to be helpful.
This is a small family run luxurious hotel which has almost everything spot on. Predominately honeymooners or couples seeking peace and tranquility in unspoilt surroundings. The restaurant is easily five star serving fantastic food. The staff are extremely accomodating where you feel that they really do want to make a good impression. This is a hotel worthy of competing with the best that Bali has to offer. The rooms have every facility you need but are a bit short on dressing room space and are not dressed to meet their surroundings but these are small points in what is a great place to forget the world.
