My brother & I stayed in Garden Suite 1 & 2 recently. The food was great - breakfast was lovely and the rice paper rolls were a favourite. The staff were amazingly friendly and so accommodating. Made you feel very welcome. Only downsides to report were: Garden Suite 1 has a lattice style window that is open so mosquitos can come in. The village backs right onto this room so expect an early morning wake up call from the roosters & barking dogs. There was also a celebration the first night we stayed so was a little loud until midnight. Only other issue was the smell of smoke in the room from the village burning off each night. The decor is beautiful within the rooms. I’d suggest spending more to get a room further away from the village for a more restful night. Complimentary shuttles running at times during the day into town were handy. Expect to pay about 50K for a taxi back if the shuttle times don’t suit. We used the gym facilities nearby at Ubud Fitness Centre. Was very difficult to find due to no signage off the road but once we got there it has everything you need and well equipped. Highly suggest a visit to Pyramids of Chi for sound meditation session!

It's true. Staying here costs a small fortune depending upon what you book, but if you got it, spend it. I booked a villa for the family and upon check-in was upgraded to the Limasan Residence. Holy smokes! Stunning doesn't even begin to describe the impression this place makes. From the nice sized private pool to the koi pond to the well balanced and designed living quarters, the Limasan Residence was heavenly. Every little detail and consideration was paid attention to as the usage of various mediums and materials all worked wonderfully together in creating an environment where we totally found ourselves thinking, "We so could totally live here. What IF we built a house like this?" Add to the fact that everyone at the Purist was quick to offer help and unbelievably friendly, our stay there was very enjoyable. Breakfast is included which you should definitely partake in. The food and service were solid so much that we ate dinner and breakfast there twice each. Spend the money and don't tell your financial planner. The return on your investment is instant and priceless. I have no doubt that our sons will talk about The Purist and the Limasan Residence when they are older men and have their own families. It truly was the swankiest hotel we have ever stayed at that has definitely left its mark with all of us. The only recommendation would be to consider making the entrance more noticeable. Our driver actually drove past it twice before we finally got it right. The roads are narrow and traffic tight but fortunately there were no issues pulling in and out of The Purist. Thank you to the owners for having the vision to build such a wonderful place. Thank you to the team from the front desk to the restaurant for exuding the wonderful friendliness, charm and kindness that we shall always remember Bali for. This is one stay we will never forget!

We have been back to the Purist two years in a row and can't wait to return next year. The grounds re gorgeous and the villas are out of this world - you dont want to leave! the staff are friendly and so accommodating, lovely lovely people. The food is incredible and the spa is fantastic. If we could move in we would!

Amazing, wonderful experience once again at the Purist Villas. All the staff that were there last year welcomed us back like family.Everyone was so excited and they all could not do enough to make our holiday so special. From the General Manager to all the staff they just wanted to please with nothing being too much trouble. We requested and were given the same Villa as last year.We plan to return next year.

Most amazing hotel! We had the Joglo Residence and the Bamboo villa. They were both so beautiful! Staff were also amazing and could not do more for you. Would 100% recommend! Also, the breakfast was divine

I cannot recommend The Purist high enough. Do you know that feeling of wanting to finding that special place where you’re made feel special, the food is superb, staff is genuinely friendly and attentive? Look no further- book The Purist! I was on my own, after a busy period, seeking relaxation. That’s exactly what I got. Super rooms, surroundings, spa and facilities. Felt very welcome, well taken care off and.... special!

Hotel rooms and surroundings are great and the restaurant food is excellent. When we checked out the hotel reception helped us book transport to our next place, the hotel ripped us off and charged us 200,000r more than the going rate. We found this out from the driver once we’d already paid the hotel. Unfortunately this was our final impression of this hotel which we feel cheated by this member of staff if it wasn’t for this I would give 5 stars!

The Purist Villas are beautiful. We stayed in a Garden Room and the room is spacious, with its own entranceway, bedroom, luxurious bathroom with natural gorgeous smelling amenities and patio area. We had our own outdoor carved wooden daybed - huge and inviting! Everything was spotless, beautifully put together and felt private. The main restaurant area and pool was inviting and relaxing. The serving staff are delightful. Friendly, helpful AND professional. When we mentioned it was a friend's birthday they arranged for a mini-birthday cake with candle, and scattered rose petals on the bed and in the bath! I would totally come back, not even bother looking somewhere else. Good for romantic retreats, relaxation. Each room seems different with original artwork. Food was yummy, healthy and delicious breakfast options. Cocktails good. A little breath of "aaahhhhhh". I wish I could remember the name of the young lady who worked on the front desk. It was something like "Tia", but I have been home for almost a month now, and to my embarassment have forgotten. She was AWESOME. Heaven.

The Villas were designed by the architect/owner and are filled with local treasures--carvings and pots, paintings, sculpture--everywhere you look there is something interesting and creative, including the design from the outdoor shower and bath (private), to the irrigation river that runs past many of the rooms. Our villa was one bedroom with a king-sized bed, huge eating and sitting area, two decks on the jungle--just lovely. The staff was very friendly and helpful, often going out of our way to help us. The villas, restaurant, lobby all show amazing attention to detail.

Stayed here on route back from Sydney having visited family. The deal we had included pick up from the airport and following a timely landing we found that the luggage was delayed getting to the belt for over an hour, this concerned us as we wondered whether the pick up would wait. Thankfully and credit to the driver all was well when we managed to identify him through a sea of name signs. He had a wooden plaque with hotel name on it. Arrived an hour and half later at the purist. We were greeted by Widi who proved to be a great friend during our stay. He is polite and makes you laugh. We were shown a brief tour of the bar and pool. He took us to suite 1 which was spacious and luxurious. Afternoon tea is between 2 and 5 is included and managed to just join them before it finished. We had dinner at the restaurant which was excellent and good value. Service there was excellent too. All the staff very polite and looked after you very well. A lady name Purianna made us most welcome each day we visited. It was our Ruby wedding anniversary and she arranged a cake on our last morning. We had the inclusive full massage which was also excellent and did a trip to the night markets. Our host was Widi and he took us to a tiered rice field and temple on route. He provided laundered saris for the temple. He put our mind at ease with sampling street food and then on to the markets which are typical stalls selling all sorts of clutter if need some! The whole place was clean an well maintained. They provide shuttle to Ubud which has plenty of shops and bars. Our transfer back to airport was with Widi and again he kept us laughing and made the journey pleasant All the best and thanks
