I always start a holiday stressed. Did we make the right choice? Villa or hotel? Will it be private enough? What about noise? Enough sun in pool?? Are we going to be made to feel special or just another tourist? Have I been ripped off? You get the picture -drives my wife of 32 years nuts!!! WE LOVED IT!! Within hours I was settled. We stayed a week and wished we could have done more. We stayed in a one bedroom villa and it was beautiful. We had the romantic dinner one night - candles around the pool, music playing in the background and incredible food. Far exceeded my expectations. One night we ordered takeaway (last night as we didn't want to leave the villa!!) and the staff came in with it and laid out the table like it was gourmet meal. The staff were so willing to do anything to make sure we were OK. The garden, trees and careful positioning of the structure meant you felt completely on your own. Totally private. Walk around like the king! Anyway I don't do many reviews but felt I had to - it was that good. We want to go back!!! All the best and enjoy.
Perfect for a Family Holiday. We were at the Kunja Villas for a family holiday and stayed in the 3 bedroom villa. Nice spacious rooms, in-villa full size swimming pool, great service. We specially loved the on-call in-room spa. Highly recommend for families!!
Everthing was to our expectations and more from the staff of The Kunja. Everyone was at all smiles each time we meet them be it from the lobby staff to the gardeners tending to the surroundings. Our villa was clean and tidy, I had no problem letting my baby boy roam in and around the villa. The turn down serivce was great and we even had mosiquito repellent placed around the vila in the evenings by the staff. It was very nice to have breakfast prepared for us in our villa every morning. My family and I totally enjoyed our stay and we want to thank everyone at The Kunja for being so accomodating. Thank you for making our stay a wonderful one, will definitely go back.
From the moment you are welcomed into your villa you know it's going to be a luxurious stay. We had a 3 bedroomed villa - just perfect! 4 poster screened beds, turn down service with local grass art on your bed each night, and those open-air bathrooms - very decadent although took a little bit of getting used to. Breakfast cooked to order every morning - you choose from a menu and then specify the time you would like it to be served. Likewise with afternoon tea, we had some very fancy French-style pastries - all we had to do was get out of the pool to enjoy them! Staff were always courteous and polite and always took time to pay attention to my 2 grand-daughters. The complimentary lift into town (and return if you could arrange it) was very welcome - pavements are a rarity and even when they do exist are often pot-holed or used as a parking space (not ideal with small children!) We opted to have the barbecue prepared for us one evening - what a treat. The villa and pool were decorated, table cloth, waitress service and freshly cooked 3 -4 course meal. Plus there were local Balinese musicians who even showed the children how to play their instruments. My daughter and husband celebrated an anniversary and once again the staff pulled out all the stops - flowers, wine, floating heart of flowers in the pool - just perfect. If you are looking for peace and quiet away from the bustling town along with luxury and amazing service -Kunja villas is the place to be!

After a hectic few weeks getting ready for my daughter's wedding, we decided to come to Bali and splurge on ourselves. Bali was very pleasant and cool - benefitting from the winter in Australia. We opted for Kunja after reading through TA feedback. The villa was spacious and was very clean. Air conditioner was perfect. The pool was a tad cold but having our own pool was a great experience. Breakfast was made to order in the villa. They also brought us to one of the beachfront restaurant as part of the package. We also had a romantic candlelight dinner which was perfect after a day of touring the Temples. The dinner was one of the highlights for this trip. The Chef prepared and plated the dishes elegantly. Carpaccio with fresh salad and truffle mayonnaise was simply delicious. The wild mushroom soup was rich and flavourful. Wine went well with the steak I had. We also had an in room 2-hour massage with body scrub by the pool followed by a soak in the rose bath. Service was very attentive. Reception was always ready to help and meet our needs. All in all, we are rejuvenated and ready to face city life.
Well I must say I have been around, and this is the absolute best place on the planet.... Staff cannot do enough to help. Transport where ever you need to go, breakfast, afternoon teas. You seriously don't need to leave, and why would you, the villa is magnificent, comfortable bed, clean as a whistle.. the staff are beautiful from the butlers to the security.. I will never stay anywhere else in Bali.... beautiful well done 10 ⭐️⭐️ Villa 14
After clearing customs we walked into the chaotic arrivals area at the airport to be greeted by a sea of signs with names on. However, it didn't take long to spot our driver from The Kunja who had battled to the front of the scrum with a clearly marked sign with our name. We headed out into the traffic in a nice clean, air-conditioned car, complete with a cold towel and iced water. As this was our first visit to Bali, the crazy traffic came as a bit of a shock, but it was rush hour and our driver eventually negotiated his way to The Kunja.
Beautiful relaxing setting. We didn't wanted to leave staff are very amazing 😉 and helpful. We have book 3 days this is fast time am visiting there very good for foods spa... we really like it This is one of the bast places for our this holiday
For us the hotel/villa's were a little mixed it's safe to say. We liked the idea of the private pool and the footprint of the room was good giving lots of space. I also liked the outdoor parts of the room with the bathroom and living area outside, made for an interesting feel. The downsides are the staff, pretty amateur at times. Our check in was awkward. We had an issue one day with some of the staff almost demanding we let them come and spray the room for mosquitoes while we were showering. Whilst the idea of someone to cook your breakfast in your villa sounds nice, it's a little awkward when they are interrupting you every 2 minutes. We felt the shuttle service was poor on the whole. It's a big selling point due to the hotel's proximity to the centre but on one occasion when going out we were told to walk to reception to get it (I appreciate this sounds petty but in a luxury hotel we expected them to collect us from the room as previous), on another they told us no shuttle was available and when I asked how long it would be I was told "long time, get a taxi" and on a third occasion we were told it would pick us us from potato heads in 5 minutes and 20 minutes later we started walking as there was no sign. No apology was offered on any of these occasions. The other thing we missed was a bar or pool to sit around and have a drink or relax and be social. We had a private pool where we stayed in Ubud but there was also communal areas that we could socialise in, this was lacking here. Elements of this hotel are definitely luxury. The rooms are the best part by far. But to be a true luxury venue it's all about the small things. It's about knowing who I am, remembering my name, knowing when to ask a question or when to hold back and wait. It's about making every tiny interaction memorable and due to the more amateur nature of the staff this was missed.
