What a superb hotel! A villa with everything you could want in and of itself is special, but to be in a villa within a hotel is exceptional as it provides you with access to additional facilities like restaurants, spa and gym. The villas are large and the external area exceptional with cabana, sun area, and large pool. Quiet, relaxing, and beautifully appointed. Delicious inclusive breakfasts. We have been to Bali many times so this hotel is exceptional for travellers who are wanting a break to relax and unwind. You can still access the toursit hotspots, but for us it wasnt necessary, so we relaxed in the peaceful surrounds of our private villa, also at the main hotel pool which on some days we had all to ourselves, or at the reserved beach area (transfers provided to beach by hotel or a 5-10 minute walk). If I had a few contructive comments to make it would be that the reserved beach area should be operated from earlier in the morning to facilitate early moring walks/swims, and the villa maintenance needs some attention to update some items (nothing major, but like a current docking station for music, replace faulty or broken blinds) The biggest bonus for us was that there were no children in the resort at christmas time so it was peaceful-our kind of perfect christmas break! We will definitely be back-thank you to all the wonderful staff for making our stay such a special occasion! The staff are like a family and by the end of the stay we fely a part of that family. Thanks
We were looking for a short getaway from Sydney and wanted a venue that offered privacy, friendly staff, a pool villa with sunshine (so many complaints at other venues that the pools are shady all day long) and The Bale offered the lot. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone. The staff, lead by Madeline are beautifully mannered, friendly and genuinely happy. The concierge staff were always trying to shuffle the drivers around to meet drop off and pick up requests. The pool villa indeed was bathed in sunshine all day and the rooms were serviced 2-3 times per day, and the staff always tried to schedule this when you’re out and about. The villa package we picked came with daily massages and there was never a day they couldn’t make the booking for us, All in all a fab little place for a se lauded getaway - we will definitely be back!!!
Stayed in a Deluxe Villa for a few nights and it was sensational. The contemporary style of the resort and peacefulness surrounding it was superb. The staff a delight, the service superb, attention to detail noted and the fit and finish of the villa was excellent. The butler service was great and the spa a tonic. In short, I wouldn’t think twice of going back for some quality time out. It’s a place to unwind, reflect and rejuvenate whilst indulging in some pampering. Well done Madelen and team Bale.
I do love the positive experiences delivered by all staff. Mr Ngakan who pick me up at the airport, Ms Juniari, Lasmi, Andika, suriani, Lastini,Goby,Toto,Arsini, Darma,Arsagita,Togano and Nina Mr Sutarjana. They all very wonderful staff. They assist in very positive attitude and very well manner.
My wife and I had a fantastic stay at The Bale recently. It was under odd circumstances as the volcano kept most tourists away from the island. As a result, there were few other guests at the property. We received an upgrade to their Deluxe Villa, which was no short of amazing. The staff were extremely attentive and quick to respond to any need. The hotel has a courtesy shuttle that dropped us off at the beach and at a restaurant in Nusa Dua. The courtesy welcome massage was performed by skillful therapists. The breakfast is among the best I've ever had (which is saying something!). They allowed us to check-in early and check-out late. Again, I think this is mostly due to the circumstance around the volcano. But we were very pleased and we agree that this is the best hotel experience my wife and I have ever had. I'd certainly stay there again if I get the chance. I'd highly recommend.
I stayed at The Bale for 2 nights. We had a great pick up service from the airport, with fresh fruits and towels to freshen up. The drive to the resort was about 20 minutes. Check in was quick and prompt and we were quickly brought to our villa. My partner and I were absolutely stunned upon entering the villa. It was really silent and was a perfect getaway from our hectic lives at work. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic - probably the best breakfast that I've ever had in my life. For the second morning, we had our breakfast delivered directly to our room and it was awesome on the day bed by the pool. Please don't miss out on the breakfast - I promise you, it's worth it! It was my birthday on our second day there, and when we came back from a day of outdoor activities, we found a chocolate cake there and a huge unicorn float with the words Happy Birthday Nicole! I thoroughly enjoyed myself floating around on the pool watching the sun go down. The Bale provided me with the absolute best birthday ever. Thank you so much to the kind staff who made my special day all that better!
We stayed in the Bale for 3 nights. Pick-up from the airport was flawless. The room (number 18) was truly beautiful. It is quite a climb up the stairs, but once you are in your pavilion, you have total privacy, a beautiful outside lounge set, patio and huge swimming pool with stairs right into your bathroom. The bed itself was very comfortable (I like a hard mattress) and the bathroom was absolutely spacious. The entire Bale looks great, staff is friendly and they really try to make you happy. I think they need to keep up the maintenance, you can tell that the hotel is now 10+ years old and if they want to keep it as beautiful as it is today, they need to ramp up the maintenance a bit. It is more taking care of the details than anything else. We had breakfast at the restaurant every morning, which was great, a little slow, but absolutely enjoyable. We had dinner twice at the Tapa restaurant, which is good as well. Wine is quite expensive, but the food is good and sharing 6 tapas with the 2 of us, turned out to be more than enough. We had live music one night, which was a nice touch. One night we took the shuttle to the Bali Collection, a huge outdoor shopping mall center with multiple restaurants, but in our eyes a tourist trap. We had dinner there, but didn't really like it and decided to go to the Tapa restaurant again the next night. Where The Bale really need to improve (and that is the reason for my 4 stars) is the private beach location. It is nicely set up, but some loungers are broken. The service is great, you get bottled water, body spray and even sun screen, but there is no shower and no rest room. It didn't really fit a 5 star establishment. The restaurant at the beach is great for lunch and very affordable, but this is not part of the Bale. If we would go back to Bali, we would definitely consider going back to the Bale. To be honest, it was probably the most beautiful location during our Bali vacation!
As a family we have just had a fantastic time learning to cook the food of Bali. We, 4 adults and an 8 year old , were collected from our hotel by the chef, Benny, and taken to a fruit/vegetable market where we were able to taste various fruits. Then on to the the fish market, a fantastic experience, we were able to have our photos taken holding a shark (a dead one) as well as identifying many other fish. After this we were taken to a porcelain factory with some beautiful products. Then on to the hotel for our class. We were given coffee while we waited for our chef to get organised. We chopped & blended spices, nuts, lemon grass & many more ingredients needed for the 5 dishes we made. We also filleted fish, some more expertly than others. The 8 year old had her own chef who made pizzas & sliders ( burgers) with her. She was then able to help the chef with some of the ingredients for the other dishes. We then ate the food we cooked . There was so much we were unable to eat it all. We were given certificates of participation , the recipes and an apron before being driven back to the hotel. A most enjoyable, relaxing experience and one we would recommend.
Honestly, I love the interior. I got the single pavilion , which suit for couple. The staffs are very helpful and friendly, and the important thing that they gave fast respond on my request. The breakfast in Bed was perfect for me, many selections on the food and beverage that I could pick, and also good too! I tried their private dinner , and it was great. Indeed no beach view , but I dont need anymore, because the surrounding of the property was very calming and relax. Ohhh !! You need to try their spa ! The therapist was so GOOD ! I forget her name, but I want to thank her again, because all the pain , and stress on my body was gone :D
Picked a single pavilion villa as a place to stay. To be honestThe Bale was not our first choice. Our fave hotel was fully booked during that period. Boy i was glad that we found this place. Had wonderful time there. Ambience was right. Was greeted with smile from The Bale’s extra ordinary staff there.. so Wawan, Ayu (trainee), Darsana, Ayu (senior), Riska, Adi and Janu tq so much for your warm welcome and super excellent services. Took a cooking class with Chef Dedy on the second day. Went to traditional markets with him to buy our own seafood. This is clearly one of the best cooking classes I’ve ever attended. Highly recommended. My only comment is : the staff need to be consistent and aware about our request. We already mentioned many times that we only consume halal food. No pork or meat whatsoever. But still we being served with bacon during breakfast and high tea.
