The most valued detail in this hotel is the staff. We met Marcos, an Spanish manager of Quality. He was kind and very nice. Ms. Tri is a very professional manager, as well Mr. Arung. The rooms are dream come true. The service is the best I ever seen.
We stayed at The Amala for 3 nights and we absolutely loved it. We were welcomed by 3 smiling faces at reception, who gave us a welcome drink and explained the villas and services to us. All the staff were professional and welcoming from the beginning to our departure. The villas were clean, well maintained and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. My boyfriend and I took the free shuttle into Seminyak every night, and every driver was friendly and helpful to us. The breakfasts were great with fresh, in-season fruit and the meals were very well flavoured and presented. The breakfast staff were extremely kind and remembered our coffee order which was handy. We will be back again for our next romantic getaway. Thank you so much to all of the staff for making our trip to Bali amazing. The Amala showcased the absolute best of what Bali has to offer, we had a traditional and fun experience. Many Thanks, Annie & Matt.
We stayed at the amala for 10 nights on the second part of our honeymoon and it was excellent! We stayed in a pool villa which was just beautiful and kept in perfect condition! The staff at the Amala are amazing and cannot do enough for you, whether it be advice on trips or places to go, the best restaurants, helping to make bookings or delivering food/drinks to your room! (A special thanks to Reno, who was just amazing to us and assisted us with so many things during our stay!) nothing is too much for the staff! The spa at the Amala was beautiful and we would definitely recommend going for the Balinese massage as this was just perfect! We also did the Balinese cooking class with the Chef at the Amala which was just amazing and delicious, we would highly recommend this! Thank you to the Amala to making our honeymoon so memorable! We will most definitely be back!! Many thanks, lauren and mike!
The Amala is so beyond beautiful! They offered us complimentary iced tea upon arrival and were so friendly and helpful. They have a spa and yoga studio for guests-so the place is filled with plenty of peaceful vibes. My favorite part though was the villa. There was an indoor and outdoor area-allowing you to enjoy a dip in the Jacuzzi or a relax on the plush mattress surrounded by cool AC. Definitely worth a visit-hands down would come again :)
We stayed 5 nights at a pool villa which enabled us to free 15 minute massages which was so enjoyed by Mr T that he booked a one hour massage. This resort accommodation is purpose built as a luxurious spa in a fabulous landscaped environment. As it is located next to a major road, there is some traffic noise and is not always entirely quiet. The staff make every effort to be helpful but the lack of good English meant that sometimes and somethings were lost in translation. Some things the resort needs to attend to are:- Linen, both bed and bathroom linen is worn and is not white any longer. As this appears to be outsourced to be laundered, management may wish to review both the laundering and the condition of the linens as grey is not attractive. Kitchen facilities, there was no microwave but 2 gas elements and a pot and a pan and limited kitchen items therefore not that useful. I had to request some dishwash and a sponge scrubber but a teatowel was just not within the realms of understanding so I used the polyester serviettes to (unsuccessfully) dry dishes, in the end I just left the dishes in the sink. A mouse skittered across the kitchen floor one day so take care to not drop crumbs. Matches for the candle and mosquito coils need to be visible. On occasional (2) nights we had a turn down service - inconsistent. The breakfasts (included in the rate) were great but kitchen need to ensure cups are stain free and do not use chipped crockery (teapot lids chipped). There are daily yoga classes, these need to be booked in advance and incur a 100,000 rupiah charge. I did the cooking class and it was very good but I recommend that the market tour is not offered as it probably will not be well received by most visitors as it is not particularly attractive and both the smells and the venues are not attractive to visit (this is compared to other fresh markets in other parts of the world). I was already familiar with all the fresh ingredients available at the market however the variety of fish available was interesting, I did wonder about the sustainability of some of the practices. We ate at the restaurant and had room service meals twice, overall the meals are good but when we dined at the restaurant, we both had the duck curry which was far too hot and spicy and just not that nice. We were also given a complimentary smoked salmon amuse bouche and bread roll at the start of the meal. We had a water leak one night while we were out and some luggage items were wet. The floor surfaces are slippery and care needs to be taken while walking around the rooms. The complimentary slippers available in our room were huge and when I went to ask at reception for a smaller pair, again, lost in translation. I did discover smaller ones on the last day (in one of the bathrooms by the pool (therefore are available). The complimentary car services for dropping off and picking up is uber handy and residents should take advantage of it whenever possible. Overall, a great venue, but the above needs addressing for it to be truly great.
I stayed at The Amala with my boyfriend and we really enjoyed the villa, which provided a nice respite from the city. The villa features a private plunge pool and includes an outdoor (covered) kitchen and living room area. The bathroom is also semi-outside and the spa products are wonderful. The breakfast was served in our room and was healthy and delicious. The staff are very kind and helped us organize a tour to Tanah Lot and our boat tickets to Gili Air. Overall, this is a very relaxing property and we would love to return!
We stayed at the Amala for 4 nights. We liked the outside bathroom, shower and bath tub. The "pool" was ok, somewhat smaller than we had at other hotels in Bali. The room was small and there was not enough space to hang our clothes or unpack our suitcases. Service was great and friendly. Breakfast was great and the location is a real plus. You can easily walk to 100+ restaurants, shops and the beach (20 minutes walk). I booked a spa morning (2.5 hours) which was amazing and something I would do again in a heart beat. Our departure time was late and they offered us to stay in the room till 6pm for a small additional amount which was great and really gave us an extra day of vacation! Next time I would consider the Amala again, but 3 days would have been enough for Seminyak in my view.
Excellent particularly if done on a one to one basis Chef was very helpful , patient and professional and had a lovely smile and demeanour I may come back . It is easy to travel as they provided the transport but these were all prepaid in U.K. currency. The atmosphere is very cosy and human friendly with available spa class BW Professor Chakravarty
I booked a spa experience at The Amala for my sister and I. First we had a private water pilates class which was fantastic! Mr Budhi was an amazing instructor and he also helped with a shoulder problem I've been having for months. Then we had a Cooling Jade Facial-incredible! The staff here were just fantastic, very friendly and competent. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a truly luxurious spa experience!
Firstly, the bed was welcoming (decorated with my name, very adorable!) and super comfy, the spa villa room was a nice size and the jacuzzi, steam shower also. Clean rooms, quality amenities with modern/relaxed ambience. In particular, the bathroom was outdoors with a huge mirror suited for an active instagrammer like myself. I couldn’t stop taking pictures because every detail was perfect. Both public and private spaces with visually impressive and luscious exterior and interior plants, pools, combined with the right decor and lighting inside and outside, definitely recommended for those seeking a tranquil atmosphere. Amala’s 2 hour Balinese massage and full body scrub were outstanding, the massage therapist was very professional and made me feel relaxed and taken care of, I enjoyed the rose petal bath and ginger tea after being totally pampered. Indeed a very nice way to finish off my vacation. Cooking class was a most enjoyable experience, the Amala Chef taught us the essential Mi Goreng (Indonesian friend noodle) making, finishing off with a delicious coconut crepe. Highly recommended if you’re a foodie or simply wanting to learn the basics like me. Front desk was fun, polite and fast check ins. Driver met with me smiles and was very knowledgable, you are close to many great restaurants, boutique cafes and shopping in Seminyak. Delicious and healthy hotel breakfast, good coffee, green juice and ice tea, with a wide selection of both Asian and Western meals and refreshments. Overall, The Amala Seminyak was a healthy indulgence with their service rooted in ‘PassionForLife’, modern essentials, and a host of features that ensure a wellness stay you will long remember. I will be recommending my family and friends to stay here on their next trips to Bali. I also look forward to staying at their sister hotel ‘Villa Air Bali’.
