I spent a week before Christmas at Taman Harum recommended by friends. I was collected at the airport at 10 pm - free shuttle service. From the moment I arrived I was loved and looked after. The rooms were delightful - clean and quiet. The surrounds were gardens full of tropical plants stone monuments and water features. Breakfast - an interesting choice and more than enough to eat. There's an inhouse cafe with wood fired pizza - less expensive than in Ubud. Food can be delivered to your room. Plenty See see within walking distance especially the wood carvers. The staff were always friendly, helpful in providing transport to and from the market and arranging activities. Taman Harum staff were always smiling. Hopefully the volcano activity won't continue to deter tourists to this beautiful Ubud accommodation. I'll be back to stay here.
Warm welcome on arrival and access to room immediately. We started in one room but were shifted to another the next day. Our first room had a very hard bed and I asked for a mattress topper, this wasn't available but they offered us the room next door with the same level. The first room had a narrow bath with shower overhead which for a 70+ year old was a bit difficult climbing in and out. Second room ticked all the boxes, comfortable bed, big airy bathroom with designated shower area. A step down from the bed area was a comfortable room with lots of light and sofa to rest on. To us there was no comparison between the 2, the second was so much more pleasant to stay in. This room was next to the library - lounging garden area with the spa treatments just off if. We had a spa treatment, in fact I had 2 and they were both very relaxing. There is a restaurant and separate bar on the property and we ate and enjoyed the food at both. Their shuttle service is frequent and very helpful. Suggest you ask for one of the refurbished rooms. Because we are considering a family holiday we also looked at the cottages which held 4 with 2 beds upstairs, these also had a connecting room which would be suitable for a larger family, or can be hired out separately.
This was a beautiful place to stay, we had booked a Superior Room with an extra bed but it was really too small for the three of us (although the bathroom was enormous), so we upgraded to a two bedroom villa which overlooked the pool. This was perfect, very comfortable, had the most lovely staff, an excellent massage and food at the restaurant was lovely. We particularly appreciated Made who drove us there from Seminyak and back down to Nusa Dua later in the week, he was the highlight of our trip, such a friendly man who shared so much about his beautiful country and culture with us, hopefully we get to meet with him again one day, we would certainly be back, there is so much to see and do in the Ubud area.
Rooms and Villas are clean and good size. Price is fair. There is a small pool that allows fun for the whole family. The hotel is at the main road to Ubud, but its tucked away from traffic noise. About 10-15min walking distance from Mas Village, you can experience traditional Bali, without meeting too many tourists - like in Ubud :-) But you might ask for a shuttle to Ubud, where you can find more Restaurants, Shops or else.
Always friendly peaceful environment. Clean rooms and lovely gardens. Great breakfasts with multiple choices. Restaurant Thor for pizza and teppanyaki and traditional food. Good service and fresh cooked food. Always come to Taman Harum for last 10 years and will continue. Highly recommend for families, couples or lone travellers
My wife & 3 children first came to THC over 10 years ago. We are regular quests. It's nestled behind walls that keep the street noise away and as you will see on the web, hides a tropical balinese sanctuary. The staff are now like extended family, and this is how they are to all their visitors, warm and always have a smile. The cottages have been improved in leaps and bounds over the last decade and it just gets better. It's not a huge complex so it is still intimate and relaxing. You may find a few things that bug you initially (especially if it's your first time to Bali) like having a waste bin in the bathroom but no others anywhere else, or finding that the TV doesn't work on arrival to the room, but it's very rare at THC and they will fix any issue promptly if it arises. I have read a few negative (there are not many) reviews and as I have visited THC many many times so I conclude that these folk would not be happy in many places in Asia. JMO. We love THC and all the staff, also Bali Spirit which is a sister property. THC is an ideal spot to stay out of the bustle of Ubud since it has gotten ever popular with the tourist crowd. If you want to chill or have a safe place for the kids to stay, then this is it.
The owner Hari and his staff are continually improving and refurbishing this hotel. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and beautifully appointed. Our room was huge, the bathroom was much bigger than some hotel rooms that I have stayed in. Breakfast was simple and delicious and the THOR restaurant is well priced, delicious and has great service. The coffee shop at THOR's is a bonus. Well done Hari, Gus and staff.
Just returned from 5 nights staying at Taman Harum Cottages as a family of 5 including 3 teenagers. It is a beautiful place with a gorgeous outlook over rice padis. I loved watching cows and birds mooching around with the kites high above. The restaurant is very good and room service excellent. The kids were sold on the pizzas! The staff are also very helpful and always willing to help arrange anything required. The free shuttle service to Ubud was important and we found arranging a pick up time when being dropped off made it easier all around. Overall I would recommend this lovely place for any one wanting a place to relax, swim, eat and enjoy Bali
Price is worth it, tasty breakfast, good environment, and staff are very friendly, it's completed our holiday. Tom Yum Soup, spaghetti Carbonara and Soto ayam tasty too ^^ I will be back in the next holiday.
Stayed here in april and found it to be a great base to see the sights of ubud. We booked an upgrade to our room and it was enormous overlooking the pool. On site restaurant was good value and the staff were great.
