Nice property located in front of jimbaran beach, easy to get food upon evening since a lot of seafood choice front of the hotel Nice place to relax and enjoy the beach whole day Swimming pool so big and look quite okay maintenance recently since take over by new management Will be back here again soon
In its day this hotel would have been a top place to stay in Jimbaran , but now due to the lack of care and maintenance it has gone to the bottom of the list. We had made a 4 night booking and only stayed 2, but the friendly helpful staff are doing their best to keep it alive. Maybe suitable for cheap backpackers. The remains of the hotel is across the road from the beach and seafood restaurants. The grounds are unkept, pool is milky, paths are broken, sun beds are broken and the waterblaster must be broken as well as most of the outside is covered in mould. As for the rooms which are of a good size, they are not clean, sheets are worn , pillows are old and lumpy, the towels are down to the threads. The ceiling in the toilet was falling in. The vanity and shower over the bath did have hot water. On arrival we were given a choice of rooms and chose the 4th floor with a balcony that looked out over the Sea, but we still chose this after we were told the lift did not work so had to climb many stairs. Feel sorry for the staff, it needs someone to take on this hotel that is in a great location and bring it back to its original glory.
we arrived without booking, but the same time we were offered two rooms to chose from.. Very spacious room, with balcony, very comfy bed and bathtube! Staff was very nice and helpful, especially Tari on Reception)) Hotel is just 1 min from the beach! So many cafes and restaurants around hotel, so location is also good. Ofcourse there were some things like leaves in the pool, leaking sink and old towels, but if you are not very demanding and not staying whole day in hotel-its ok place to be.. Hope hotel can again become a great resort, as it was 3-4yrs ago.
The sari segara is amazingly only 16 years old, I thought it was at least double this. This hotel was once upon a time a real gem with massive rooms, bathrooms and balconies- some with sea views. However it's not kept up to date and things are very tired. Still it has a charm about the place and I believe that's down to the lovely staff there. No room wifi so I had to sit in reception and be eaten by mosquitoes to connect to the world which I get was very old fashioned! The mattress and bedding was awful, very shoddy mattress and the bedding was so old if fell apart when you touched the pillows. If you want to clock out here is a lovely place at the road outside boasts lovely fresh fish restaurants. I took the local option and went to the fish market, grabbed a hunk of tuna steak and the market warung cooked it for me, so much fresh fish... yummy
This was a fantastic place to stay. It was every thing that we hoped for and more. The staff were friendly and could not do anything more to help us , including organising trips for us. Would we return? YES
The builiding and rooms are dilapidated, humate, dirty and full of mold. Woke up in the middel of the night having a huge grey spider as my wingman. The nightguard was helpful and kind, sat me up for a different room.. this one had cockroaches, dead spiders and a dirty dirty floor under the bed. Housekeeping came upon request and cleaned it. The breakfast was poor, but coffee wasn't that bad. Staff are friendly and helpful. However, it's overprized compared to the low standard.
Good: large room, Big bathroom, Big swimming pool (although "strangely" green), balcony Bad: dusty everywhere (rooms and hotel restaurant), aircon dying (almost useless), light curtains (sun in the room early in the morning), leaking tap, ants everywhere, very few not motivated staff, breakfast is very limited, location: restaurants around serves only expensive seafood, beach is dirty. Highlight: they do all they can so that you use their taxi services. They send rocks to Grab or Uber cars! If you order a taxi online, you have to give a location which is not too close to hotel to avoid violence, otherwise drivers won't come.
Revisited Sari Segara after a year for 3 nights. Hotel staff kind and welcoming, pool fantastic, especially in the mornings and at night. You can really chill out here, hanging out in different areas, dive in at the deepest side or just stretch out on the underwater pool bar stools. The bar never functioning, which gives the outdoors even more nostalgic feel for an era of a more splendid past. If it ever was... Unfortunately, part of the grounds are now taken by a new development next door. Stylish breakfest area and second pool are gone. The current breakfest somehow lost its taste in the dark lobby, staff here a bit less attentive. Guests are allowed to smoke. It was a disapointment. Rooms are large and with nice balconies. Aircon in rooms old and patchy. Corridors are airy and with beautifuk frescos by the lifts. Had to hold my breath in lifts as the smell of repellants (or other substances) was unbearable. For a recreational photography so many things to attract your attention: from wide angle vistas to decorative details. We were amazed hearing that the hotel was build only in the 90-ies. The Balinese style for interiors and architecture shows its timelesness here. To sum it up: 1. Amazing location close to airport and Jimbaran beaches. Perfect for one night stay, attractive for a 2-3 nights stay if you venture a bit further (we hired a scooter to go to Uluwatu one afternoon/evening). 2. Price is not bad, last year we got a better bargain. 3. Staff is very helpful. 4. Amenities rundown and aging. 5. Breakfest to forget 6. Hotel and grounds highly photogenic: perfect for portraits, close-ups and experiments. 7. If you can trade tour usual hotel standards for an atmosphere and experience, with an added value of large pool and kindness of people around - this is a hotel for you. My wife was a bit more disapointed this time. But she has an accute eye for cleaningness and detail. Although as a keen swimmer she still enjoyed her 40 minute sessions twice a day. I'm giving 4 stars. She would give 3. Some last advice: - hire a scooter from reception: cheap and smooth, - do not eat in beach restaurants opposite Sari Segara. They are a tourist trap for the rich. If you turn left in 2 minutes (on scooter) or in 7 minutes (on foot) there are real local restaurants even 3 times cheaper.
I stayed there for 2 nights, the room was a bit dirty and dusty but the pool was good. It is located close to Jimbaran beach so that was quite easy to walk around the beach and find good restaurants there. I remember the breaky was delicious and the staffs at the restaurants were very friendly.
We stayed here last year, September 2015, when construction was still going on. There was noise then, but it didn't bother us too much. I remember how wonderful the pool was, and how friendly and helpful the staff were. Yes, the place could've stood to be upgraded, but it had an old colonial charm to it that I liked (it must've been quite a jewel in the crown back in the day). Breakfast was great, especially the omelets a young lady cooked on-demand right there. This time, the remodeling was complete in the front/lobby area. Though I didn't enjoy the pool this year, my teenage son and others in our group enjoyed it a lot. The evening we checked in, my son and I got settled in our room, but later realized that the air conditioner wasn't getting cold at all. I went and told the man at the front desk (it was about 9pm) about it, and he promptly looked to see what rooms were available. Then he handed me a room key and kindly told me to go look at the room first to see if it would be acceptable. I did just that, and found the A/C to be working excellent, so my son and I got promptly moved into this room which was our "home" for 4 nights. The bathtub could definitely use some upgrading, but the rooms were otherwise clean and comfortable. Two bottles of water are left on the dresser by housekeeping every day; the beds are made every day; and the towels were replaced every day. Unfortunately, there were no omelets made on-demand like last year, but the breakfast was still delicious. We've eaten there for lunch and dinner, as well, and have been satisfied by the taste/quality and prices. Also, free wi-fi is usually only available in the lobby/restaurant/pool area. However, if you stand/sit by a certain place near the window, you will get wi-fi now and then. Most important of the of all, though, is that the management (Ibu Puti Tami) and staff have been nothing but helpful, attentive, warm, and friendly. I'll there again next year, I'm sure!
