Not very professional staff. Towels were not clean. For some reason I didn't feel the staff truly nice but rather fake nice. I am traveling all around the world and can spot a sincere smile or one that is fake. My first day was supposed to be a special rate since I checked in at 5 am in the morning but it was horrible and negotiating with front desk took place. I had some email communication beforehand but once arrived at was a different game that took place. I forgot an item in the room and never received it back when I returned to pick up.
The staff were amazing. Always polite, smiling and only too happy to help in any way. And the location for us was just right. Away from the sometimes overly commercial beach-front hotels, but still only a very short walk away. And set amidst the street life, yet the rooms, spa and pool are set back making for a very tranquil environment. Also the carved wooden doors and statues everywhere make the place unique.
The rooms are clean and the staff is nice. There are also nice high ceilings in the room. The beach is a little bit further than We wanted though. There are other hotels in Sanur at lower costs with a beach view and beach access right behind their hotel. They also charge for local phone calls which is odd because 2 other hotels we stayed at in Bali did not charge for local phone calls.
From the moment that I contacted the hotel for airport transfers to the moment I was dropped off at the airport, I was spoiled with courtesy, attentiveness, and accuracy. The staff was extremely helpful and the included breakfast absolutely fantastic. Although not directly on the beach the wonderful, lush, and extensive grounds are a five minute walk to the resort's beach area. The room was the best I have stayed in for a very long time with soft sheets, a shower that opens to the outside environment, a balcony that has a very comfortable love seat, and a brightly lit bathroom. I did not want to leave!
The staff were friendly, helpful, professional, and efficient. I really liked the breakfast, bed comfort, room design, shower, and television. It's about a ten minute walk to the nearest beach. It costs about 10 USD for a taxi to the hotel.
Having worked in the service industry for many years, I was blown away for the level of quality and service provided in this hotel at this price. The rooms are beautiful and well kept as is the entire place. The staff was friendly and attentive. By the way the breakfast included was outstanding. Location was convenient with the exception if the beach. This is perhaps the only point that could be better. I was fully aware that it was not at the beach but nearby. The front desk made us aware that they had a section if private beach. Excited my family and I made the short walk. The beach was low tide when we got there and was very disappointing. The private beach was small, which I can live with, but very unkept. Dirty and littered and did not reflect the pride and quality of what the rest of the place is. Perhaps they can fix this in the future. Overall we loved our experience and highly recommend this place. It is up to par with very high end resorts in the world.
