We had 7 nights here after 3 in Ubud and the experience here was not as good, though overall we had a great time and really liked Senur. The hotel grounds were lovely as was the pool area, they were renovating the restaurant area, we ate outside so it was fine until one day when we had rain and they couldn't accommodate everyone in the restaurant so we're suggesting we went back and ordered room service. We had a garden view room which was large and comfortable with a part outside shower, overall it was clean though cobwebs on the lights over the sink remained all week and as everyone says the towels are appalling, the worst we have ever experienced. The beach area is OK and only a short walk but you feel like a poor relation in terms of the standard and look of the towels, umbrellas and mattresses on the sun beds compared to all the other hotels. There is no service down at the beach though there are bars and beach shacks etc.We went to the Balinese BBQ with Baplines dancing which was OK but the standard of food and ambiance was not as good as what we had experienced in Ubud. The staff are all lovely and service overall was good, some of the staff did not have the same level of English which led to miss communication on a couple of occasions but we don't speak Indonesian so we can't really complain!. The hotel is at the quite end of town but there are nice Warung and restaurants and bars nearby and it us close to the beach but it's a long walk to the Night or Day Market, though we enjoyed the Walk you are bothered by taxis al the time or you can hail the green bus/ taxis easily.I hope this hotel invests in a few areas and just raises it's standards in a couple of areas and it could be fab!,

The Sudamala excels with it's staff who are all very pleasant and nothing is ever too much trouble. All requests were dealt with with the utmost efficiency and politeness. Service with a smile. I normally choose hotels on the beach but thought we would go with something different on this occasion. The cosiness of a small hotel won through on this occasion and we were not disappointed. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked, all served directly to your table. The pool was warm and inviting with good quality sun loungers. The beach was literally no more than 10 minutes away, again with good facilities, I particularly liked the table where you could store your clothes and valuables in hidden from view. The rooms are lovely we had an upgraded suite, overlooking the pool area which meant we did not hear the road out the front. I also used the spa to have a massage and facial which was well worth the experience and wish I'd had the time to repeat my treatments. We used the courtesy bikes on 2 occasions to experience the local area, take a trip to Dream Island and the nature reserve. I would certainly stay here again.

This place is amazing. We were on our honeymoon and upon arrival we were informed about the upgrade to a pool suite. The whole place is beautifully designed and the staff is very attentive and helpful. Attention to details (every night we could find night stories letters+ cookies; every breakfast accompanied with a live gamelan music etc.) We couldn't have chosen a better place to relax and inhale the Balinese spirit as it felt like we're in a magical oasis. Massages were also fantastic! Definitely recommend to stay there. There is only a one thing we didn't like was fumigation of the area- not good for any living organism.

It's always about personal taste but this is probably one of the best, if not the best property I have ever stayed at over the past 30 years. The staff are exceptional and the spa here is superb. Highly recommend this property to everyone who enjoys traditional style, culture and modern luxury!

Great location for restaurants and beach but when I see some of the other reviews I do wonder if I stayed at the same hotel. We enjoyed 3 days in ubud first and possibly that hotel spoilt us. The service at sudamala wa great the staff really do try. The breakfast is amazing although quality of service was intermittent depending on who was on duty. SOme of the staff did need some gentle reminders of the order. Krishna was excellent through. The outside statues could be beautiful but the walls, and statues re overcome with moss and black stains due to the amount of rain they get. Some karchering would make a huge difference. The rooms were well appointed but as had been mentioned on other reviews that towels and beach towels are threadbare. They are certainly not of a quality you would expect from such a hotel. The wifi in our room was problematic (room 325) although we found a way to open the front door and pop the iPad outside the door to get connected and then it was fine. Room service was prompt when we requested ice. We used the free cycles on 2 days and had no problems and was a great way to see Sanur. If Sudamala wants to be a great hotel then they should folloŵ the lead of some of other hotels who had shuttle bus taking you to the other end of Sanur otherwise you need to grab a taxi to experience restaurants further out. Overall, a good hotel and we enjoyed the stay - the people made it but the hotel does need some TLC and investment in the basics.

wot can i say that dozens have not already said !! like fantastic, marvellious, great, so good, i think you get the message!!! how good this hotel IS, Just to answer one review , yes their is mosquitos all over Bail, not just at sudamal,(by the way they do fogin twice a week! ,there are two plugins in each room and each night they light a mosquito repellent out side?)Thay do their BEST Do like us Take Your Own. as from the time we arrived we were treated like family by all members of staff, we ment to get all their names but here are just a few putri damayanti wayan suryanata i gede wida kartika iga ita chintya putri damyanti putu andi and not forgeting Miss Emily Subrata who took time out of her busy scheduie to come and meat us in person Thank You. though you all you made this our best holiday of all time , we will be seeing you all next year with out a doubt. best wishes Mr Alan and Mrs Roz

One word of caution: If you go, be sure and take your insect repellant. Our room was swarming with mosquitos all night long, and I ended up 10 bites on my arm. At night, ants crawled across the screen of my tablet. On top of that, a neighbors dog howled for hours, and local roosters harkened the break of day before the first ray of light appeared. For this reason, our stay was less than ideal. That said, the hotel has a calming, zen-like character. The rooms merge the inside and outside with showers adjacent to gardens. The furnishings are charming. The air conditioning is flawless, and the quality of the TV is as good as I have ever seen in a hotel. Instead of the sprawling buffet breakfasts many hotels offer, this offers a breakfast from the menu in the adjacent restaurant. There are serval choices, all of which are good, but the menu is a bit restrictive. If you want one item from of the of fixed choices, you can't combine with with another (ie. build your own breakfast) without an extra fee, which seemed a bit petty, given the price of the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is idea for walking to the beach and exploring a safe, colorful (albeit a bit touristy) neighborhood. There is a lot to like about this hotel, but the insect bites on my arm that are still healing remind me that i will probably look for a different place next time around.

Most beautiful property. The staff are very friendly and make you feel so wanted, all the rooms are gorgeous and food delicious. Loved their Indonesian and balinese breakfast. You can take their cycle to cycle to the beach. The sanur beach has a lovely cycling track. The beach is about 2 minutes by cycle or 5 minutes by walk. Also do try the hotel spa. Don't compare the price to nearby places because it's a spa( the nearby places are salons) and the quality of products they use is very good. Good places to eat nearby too.

Me and my husband came here for our honeymoon and we had a great time staff here are great and always attentive to customers needs very friendly and food is delicious! Enjoyed having breakfast and dinner here and my husband planned a romantic dinner for me staff also helped and the dinner setting looked amazing! Would highly recommend this place if you visit bali 😊

Lovely hotel with wonderful staff. Great location with quiet grounds. Short walk to lovely beach. Good selection of bars and restaurants in area and at beach. Pool area is lovely and tranquil with good food and drink service. Breakfast is excellent. Would highly recommend this hotel. Indeed, I will return in may 2017.
