The current 12 villas are excellent in every respect, breakfast afternoon tea and dinner were all excellent as well. the spa is also excellent.. Ubud main st is out the door with grat food shopping and massages. They are building a new hotel with pool access rooms that will be ready late March. we had a guided tour of the constuction and the hotel rooms are large and luxurious as are the facilities. This will be an amazing place to stay when completed.
This place is astounding. Everything amazing. Seriously can't fault anything. Tip..order an ice bucket for your beverages at night. Also if you want an early morning brekky have it served inside as the one morning we had brekky at 6am naughty monkeys made a mess of every thing... But hey you are staying close to the monkey forrest and was an experience but lost most of the breakfast lol. Staff, convenience.....if we stayed in Ubud again would definitely return
We stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The decor including the gardens were stunning and it was great to have our own pool that we could swim laps. The villas were very private, and hard to fault. Good options for shopping and food close by
can not fault this place. service was perfect. price was on point. location was incredible. highly recommended villa to stay in, close to the monkey forest - we have monkeys in our villa in the morning :) was fantastic
We loved every minute of our stay. The property is so central and so quiet. The room was clean and lovely. Having our own private pool was amazing. The choice for breakfast was extensive and very tasty.
For anyone looking to stay in Ubud, but wants a quiet place to escape the chaos of the city, I highly recommend this resort. The interior design and exterior landscaping of the villas are gorgeous and having your own private pool was pure luxury. It is truly a 5 star resort. The best part about The Royal Kamuela is the staff. They cannot do enough for their guests. We had a slight noise problem with the first villa we were in and were immediately moved to a different location. For the rest of our stay every person we ran into asked if the new villa was suitable and was there was anything else they could do to make our stay more enjoyable - truly first class customer service. A special shout out to Icha Rini who was so wonderful to us throughout our stay. She always had a smile on her face and consistently went out of her way to make sure our stay was a memorable one.
Spent 3 nights here Its so clean really! the villas are well furnitured, and the pool is really nice.. also the food and quality is great, its just as the hotel got 12 villas only, so they have a very small resturant with almost 5 tables more or less .. and the breakfast choices are very limited.. Also everything in the hotel close around 9:45 to 10:00 PM. So you cant order anything AT ALL from room service.. But, you can feel you are in your own villa.. You got kitchen corner with microwave, toaster, minibar and even a corner for your own dining! The hotel location is great.. The shops everywhere left or right the hotel! You are literally in the heart of ubud.. its just more to be morning place.. after 9 PM most of shops close and only few restaurants stays open till about 12 max. And not to forget The monkeys, as they visited us for one time only:) we left some food out of the room on purpose so they may find it.. if you are reading this and your planing to visit Royal kamuela, book your massage there, its really nice massage.. Dont miss it!
Villas are beatiful, love the interior. But the door between bedroom and bathroom needs curtains, we had to hang up our towels to keep the morning sun out ( that should not be neccassary at a 5 star hotel). Also the shampoo in the shower was empty when we arrived and still empty when we left. Spa is just average. Dark, small room and old towels....not 5 star. The food is great, we loved everything we ordered at room service Service is okay, but slightly pushy. Everyone where trying to sell hotel services everytime we spoke with them.... From my point of view is unfortunately not Royal Kamuela a 5 star hotel, so it is not worth the 5 star price...
First of all I think it is very important to say that there is no danger here with Mt Agung it is so far away and the people of Bali need you to come and visit. It really does make a difference. We stayed here for 10 nights and working on the road in locations in Tagalland, Sukawati and Giniar. At no time we felt that we were in any danger and we were so well recieved by the local people. RK another great stay here, the location, service and accommodation is second to none. It is quiet, but within minutes you are in the middle of the hustling and bustling that makes Ubud so unique. Walking up the Main Street to the local market takes approx 10mins directly, but glancing into the many local shops makes it nearly one hour. In the other direction down the hill Monkey Forrest takes a very slow 10 mins as you always stop and watch the cheeky monkeys. Everything is on your doorstep and once inside your private villa it's paradise, so clean with high quality fixtures, fittings and bed linen. The breakfast taken in your villa or the coffee shop is good with quality ingredients and always fresh fruit. There is an extensive breakfast menu and the chief offered to cook whatever we wanted for breakfast, no need we just ordered from the menu. I had my Birthday there and in the morning Kadek and staff gave me a traditional "happy birthday to you"and gave a special gift that we will hang in our new home and a bueatiful cake with candles. Before leaving we have again booked for another 10 nights.
My only regret was not booking three nights instead of two. The room is absolutely stunning and spacious. It's a well thought out space as there was a section in the back of our villa where you could sprawl open your suitcases. Handy as this means you don't need to tip toe throughout your room. The service was phenomenal. On my last day in Ubud I was walking from the Yoga Barn back to Royal Kamuela. I was holding a bag of cashews when a monkey from the nearby Monkey Forest attacked me for my nuts. In a panic, I thought I had potentially caught rabies. The staff at Royal Kamuela were really helpful and alleviated these health concerns (they explained that the nearby monkeys are vaccinated and healthy). Staff provided me with a special detergent and Betadine to wash out the scratches. The spa is divine. I tried the lomi lomi massage and highly recommend staying at the Royal Kamuela for the stunning villas as well as their spa treatments.
