We had a beautiful villa right next to the infinity pool so the kids loved every second we spent at Pita Maha resort. The villa itself was huge, with a jacuzzi overlooking the lush green valley. Service was top notch as were the food and cocktails. And we even received complimentary sarongs so we never had to rent them at temples again. Would love to come back soon.

Pita Maha is absolutely beautiful ! We were so happy with the room the architecture is incredible ! They have a bigger Infinity pool with a nice view to the river, with an absolutely wonderful sunrise Breakfast was complete They were so on top of every need, question and request we had. Thank you !

Pita Maha is one of the most spectacular resorts I've ever stayed in. My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and can't wait to go back! The villas are large and stunningly decorated with a gorgeous outdoor shower and sunken tub-perfect for couples. We didn't get a villa with a private pool but you don't need to as the main pool was never crowded. The landscaped grounds are beautifully lush and there are fantastic views across of gorge of rice paddies. What we really liked about the resort is that it was close enough to town that you could walk (appx 15-20 min) but it was far enough away that it was quiet and felt serene. There are also a couple of great restaurants nearby that we loved-the Warung Palau is a must. My husband and I loved the tranquility the resort provided. The breakfast options in the morning were fantastic and offered a range of options from your standard western breakfast to a traditional Balinese breakfast. We took advantage of the free yoga in the morning at the Royal Pita Maha which was wonderful. It was held right next to the gorge so it was a beautiful place to practice yoga. The hotel has arranged transportation for you back and forth which was lovely. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We called to ask if we could borrow a couple of champagne classes and not only did they bring them to us, but they also brought us a bucket of ice for our champagne. The one tiny downside was the poolside bar was not open but you can walk up to the main bar and order drinks and they will bring them down to you. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing, romantic, beautiful place to stay in Ubud, then look no farther than Pita Maha. I can't wait to go back.

I and my husband stayed here for only 2 nights but we loved the place. The villa was extremely luxurious and very well designed. It was clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful and ready to bring the food down to the villa whenever requested. Ubud overall is a more private and quiet kind of a place so the hotel is designed likewise. If you are a honeymoon couple, then I would recommend villa 202 as you get a lot of privacy. The staff is courteous and helpful. Food options surely are limited but they are flexible with the menu and try to make it as per your needs. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Thanks!! While the resort is breath taking in its beauty and the friendliness of the staff, the actual hotel is unfortunately very run down. The breakfast is not that of a five star hotel, both in terms of variety and quality and while the views from the villas are breathtaking, the furniture and bathroom were unfortunately a huge let down. Insects are expected to roam around given one's surroundings but finding a long black worm (assuming its a hammerhead worm but initially thought it was a snake given its length) in the bathroom is just not acceptable. We made sure the doors were immediately shut because we were previously warned, so I'll assume the worm made its way through the door since it wasn't properly sealed . The bathtub tiles were not properly sealed either as the worm managed to wiggle its way into the gaps between the bathtub tiles. Staff were quick to react, very apologetic and upgraded us to a newer room in the Northern wing that was obviously recently constructed so was much better in terms of condition but had a seriously bad plumbing issue as the toilet unfortunately smelt of pee all the time. At this point, after changing the rooms three times, asking room service to change sheets (noticed a few stains) and that giant worm, I gave up and didn't inform the hotel. My recommendation if you were to stay in this hotel is to stay in the villas in the new northern wing as they are in much better condition and have a better view as they are uphill and are closer to the lobby. If your planning on spending most of your time out of the hotel, then again the Northern Wing would be a better option because you avoid the daunting walk up to the lobby every day. Nothing against the staff here, excellent, very friendly and very caring. A lot of effort needs to be put into the food, amenities and the actual furnishing of the villas.

My wife and I stayed here 13 nights for our Honeymoon. The hotel location is awesome and the villas are big and well equipped. The breakfasts are all very good (we loved fruit yogurt) and the hotel staff is very friendly, although depending on which shift, you might encounter some language difficulties, specially if you are talking over the phone. The hotel staff went above and beyond their roles, to put an example, on our second day my wife had a bicycle accident 3.5 km away from Ubud and she could not move, not knowing what to do I called the hotel, and they ended up sending their shuttle to assist Another day, we stayed for dinner at the hotel, the complimentary massage was so good and the food was nice, unfortunately both my wife and I got sick presumably from that dinner (we had not left the hotel that day) and spent the next 24 hours with stomach issues to say it nicely. I explained this to the hotel and they did not charge us half of the bill, which taking into account dinner came with complimentary massage, seemed fair to us they still charged us one dinner. Overall, very good place to stay in Ubud

We spent 3 nights at the Pita Maha and found the grounds and staff to be amazing. It is a very calm and serene setting, and our pool villa was very large for the price with the small yard and pool that I'm sure you've already seen in photos. Very pretty, and a nice escape from the hustle and bustle that is Bali. That said, for what we paid I would have expected them to maintain things a little better. The towels, for instance, had frayed edges and even a few holes in them. The outside shower had half of the river rocks missing so that the drain and things were exposed. We didn't use the AC much, but when we did, the room was very musty so that we ultimately had to open everything back up to air it out. The bed was the worst we stayed in over the course of our 14-day honeymoon; we both developed sore backs and this hadn't been a problem anywhere else. None of these things are a bother by themselves, but taken as a whole, I was disappointed in what we got for what we paid. More disappointing still that it has such nice "bones" as far as their property and buildings are concerned, but they won't spend the few extra bucks per villa to keep it up. Aside from the bed, everything I would have listed as needing repair/replacement could have easily been done for less than our bill ran for 1 night. Protip: be wary of scheduling in advance and be sure to check all of the travel websites for a better deal than the hotel's website (though the hotel does seem to price match). We decided to add an extra day in Ubud after we arrived from Seminyak (and before we'd spent much time there). They quoted us the same price (4,500,000/night) we'd originally paid when we booked the website, but a 5-second search of Agoda found their price to be closer to 3,000,000. BIG DIFFERENCE. I asked them to match it, and they stuck to their guns on the 4,500,000. I said that I would rather pay through Agoda, then, at which point they got on the phone for 10 minutes and came back to match the Agoda price.

The Pita Maha Resort and Spa is not to be confused with the Royal Pita Maha, which is a different Hotel altogether. From the minute you step inside the Pita Maha you will be treated like royalty. Everyone is so friendly, accommodating and happy to help. The service is first rate. Now the Villas, they are stunning. There are not many places that you walk in to and get a real wow feeling, and say this out loud, this is definitely one of these places. The setting, on the edge of a hill over looking the thick forest and valley below, is quiet, serene and calming. Each Villa is spacious, and very well appointed with their own plunge pool (apart from the Garden Villas). The food in the restaurant was delicious with a mix of Western, Indonesian or traditional Balinese on offer. The Balinese and Indonesian options are definitely worth having. The Nasi Goreng and Mie Goreng were delicious for breakfast. In the afternoon there is afternoon tea, where you can sample some of the local Balinese dishes with a cup of tea or Balinese coffee, sitting in the downstairs lounge listening to the Rindik being played in the nearby enclosed shrine. The position of the Hoel is a short way out of Ubud, although there is a regular free shuttle service that can be taken. If you miss this the Hotel will arrange a driver to take you into Ubud for 50k Rupiah (Extremely cheap). There are loads of good places to eat outside of the hotel which offers a selection of different type of food. Some worthwhile mid range places are The Elephant (4 mins walk from the hotel) and La Pacha Mama, a vegetarian Mexican. (about 20 mins walk). Walking outside the Hotel at night is perfectly safe although you definitely need a torch as the pavements are quite rough. The Campuhan Ridge Walk is another activity that is highly recommended. This takes you on a walk along a pathway on top of a ridge looking over the valley on both sides. This eventually ends at some rice terraces where there is a great cafe tied on to a Spa (Karsa Spa), where you can sit and enjoy a refreshing fresh fruit juice or other drink. It takes about 2hrs round trip to complete although is definitely worth while. You will need some sensible footwear and an average level of fitness to complete this. Definitely, go in the morning around sunrise, as it is coolest then. Ubud is an amazing town, extremely busy, although everyone is relaxed and it's not overpowering. Shop owners are friendly although are not pushy, adding to the relaxed feel of Ubud. Definitely worth a visit, as well as a stopping point for visiting the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. Overall this Hotel was an amazing experience, with outstanding staff. I would highly recommend anyone who wants a bit of opulence with a traditional Balinese influence to stay here.

Pita Maha is really recommendable to spend some days when you are in Ubud. The villa with your own pool, amazing! Such a beautiful view every morning in the dschungel. All people are very friendly, intent and obliging.

We loved this resort! Gorgeous Balinese style resort with stunning views. Just wow from the moment you walk in. We had a Pool Duplex Villa which was lovely but could do with better lighting and a ladder into the pool. As with many resorts in Ubud be aware that there are many steps to negotiate if you have any mobility issues. The only negative was in the restaurant where Yanik was not interested in giving us the table we wanted despite that fact we were the only people there and no other tables were reserved. She begrudgingly got a co worker to help her move the table slightly and add one chair and was laughing with them as if we were a big inconvenience. When you're spending a good amount of money on a quality resort you don't need attitude from a lazy waitress. This happened a couple of times, just disappointing Still a beautiful place and highly recommended
