We stayed for three nights at the Pita Maha Resort in a garden villa and it was one of the most incredible hotels we have stayed in! The breakfast was beautiful, the villas really spacious and nicely decorated (although the outdoor shower and bath took getting used to, they were really relaxing!) and the pool was absolutely divine! I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough - we paid around $250 per night for a private villa, breakfast and a 30 minute couple massage - heaven!
This was our first time to Ubud so our travel agent recommended we stay at The Royal Pita Maha and it did not disappoint. Amazing outlook from our private villa, looking over our own infinity pool to the river at the base of the resort, the rainforest surrounding. So tranquil and relaxing to be with nature at its best. They resort staff are just wonderful and very friendly, and always willing to help to ensure we had a great experience. A free shuttle service runs from the resort into Ubud and back daily, just ask the staff for a timetable when you arrive. Our package included a complimentary lunch, dinner and afternoon tea, plus yoga sessions by the river daily at 8am. The day spa is a definite must when staying, you will not be disappointed. Getting around the resort is a great way to get fit as it has many stairs, but look at this as a positive. Work off the holiday consumption. We will definitely recommend this resort to our family and friends and we will be back. Terima Kasih the team at Royal Pita Maha.
I had visited this place on my honeymoon in December 2015 and was so beautiful. it is surrounded with mountains and river and greenery.. Each villa has its private pool and a vast lawn as well and from our room we could see the river flowing and river rafting as well. they have a organic restaurant and it was so refreshing to eat there. the breakfast was good. over all worth visiting this resort as its so peaceful and lovely
Nice and wellrun hotel. Cosy atmosphere and very friendly staff. The Villas are Well-equipped and clean - typical balinese style. Pool-area rather small and only few sunbeds. No buffet, but nice mealplates.
we loved everything about this place. the location is magnificent! each room has a pool with views of river and/or mountains, and spa was just the cherry on top! everything is just perfect! we celebrated a wonderful new years eve here with our family.
Fantastic stay for couples looking for total luxury villas with perfect privacy and feel In heaven with infinity pool, large space of bedroom, lounge and a large bathroom... simply superb & totally Royal feeling of being the heritage of Bali @Ubud with green views of ten hills and the river Agung flowing & meandering by the hotel. Variety continental breakfast served with fantastic view of the valley and lush greens, place for meditation, yoga and many sporting activities. Couples this is the place to be romantic and fall in love again and again.
Our pool villa was amazing, we loved being in the jungle, it was fantastic to hear and see the wildlife ( frogs, toads, lizards, geckos, bats, swifts, huge snails) The hotel give you mosquito repellent which was great as the doors didn't really fit that great but being traditional Balinese villas you will have guests in there with you, which wasn't a problem at all. The gardens are beautifully kept, there are quite a few steps to tackle and of different depths not really suitable for people with mobility difficulties. The staff are great and all work really hard. the restaurant is beautifully situated overlooking the valley and it was really nice to have breakfast overlooking the main pool area and gardens. the breakfast was vast and very tasty, i loved the french toast and freshly cooked pastries, the fruit and the freshly made fruit juice was great and the cappuccinos too. Afternoon tea was OK but you weren't allowed to have cappuccinos, if you did you were charged. We had a free evening four course meal which was very tasty and very nicely prepared. We caught the free shuttle from the hotel to Ubud and back again. We have wonderful memories of our time at the Pita Maha, Thank you for a great stay.
If only we had more time than one week, I'd have hung out a lot more at our hotel! This hotel is owned by the King of Ubud. The staff were amazing & the grounds. WOW just WOW!!! The hotel restaurant where we ate our breakfast each morning was very pretty. The infinity pool area was incredibly serene & beautiful! I cannot say enough positive things about this hotel. I want to go back to stay again! It is in a great location as far as restaurants, spas & shopping are concerned. You can easily walk to shops in the village from here. The Ayung River passes behind the hotel so the view from the spa is simply breathtaking! The rooms were comfortable with mosquito netting around the bed. We had our own private plunge pool and the small yards surrounding each room are spectacular! Lots of space! The staff ensured we planted a tree before we checked out. They said this would ensure we would come back to see our own tree! They gave us beautiful wooden jewelry boxes with our names engraved on them. Very nice touch! This is the hotel you want to stay at if you go to Bali to relax. Just gorgeous! I just wish the government of Bali would stop poisoning their beautiful street dogs. Knowing this makes me extremely sad & makes me think twice before booking another vacation to this country. I pray the King of Ubud sees my review and does what he can to stop the government from harming these dogs. There is a better way!
The Pita Maha is situated in a great location and is the nicest place I’ve ever stayed. The setting is beautiful and the villa we had was gorgeous. We stayed in a 2-storey villa with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a private pool. The staff were very friendly and did everything they could to help us. The Balinese massage I received was extremely relaxing and again the staff were very attentive. The resort provides a free shuttle bus to and from Ubud which was very useful. Thank you to all who made our experience at the Pita Maha truly incredible.
We were upgraded to a villa with pool which was very nice the pool is small but nice at the end of a long day. Rooms are very large with plenty of storage and an outside bathroom. Very quite hotel with great staff who are only to willing to help. We would stay here again if /when back in ubud.
