The place is sprawling! Huge! But there is always someone around to assist you. The pool can get crowded since there are many families checking in with children but there are so many activities to do. It is also near a Bali collection mall with lot's of shops and restaurants.
Overall a most satisfying experience. All inclusive package was better than anticipated. Gardens are gorgeous. Hotel shows some signs of wear and tear but generally is well maintained. If the opportunity to kick back, relax and do very litttle is what you are after then this is the place for you. Generally very good service particularly given the number of people staying at the property. Would we come back again, Yes. Would we recommend to family and friends, Yes.
We stayed for couples days at Melia Bali, was very nice 5star resort, with a big natural garden with balinesse stile tropical trees, lot of variates meal for thr breakfast, the room was quite old but it was comfy. They have 5 restaurants, all of them was impressive espcially lotus asian restaurant which is our favorite one, where Hendra always looked after us very well and very profesional waiter. Thx for all Melia staff for your satisfied,we will back sometime. Regards Ward family.
We already stayed a few times at the Melia Bali Nusa Dua and loved every minute of each stay. We can only say „Thank you“ for making this place to our second home. Big appreciation to Ibu Yuli, she always helped us and listened to our requests patiently. She takes care that every day is perfect for her guests. Big thanks also to Ibu Dewa for her great and friendly service. She always served us our favorite drinks with a big smile on her lips! Thank you very much to Pak Bayu from the Japanese restaurant Sakura. His Teppanyaki is really delicious. The Sakura is our favorite restaurant at the Melia Balis Resort. You have to visit this restaurant! Thank you also to Pak Darma and Pak Wahyu for their superb service at the Level beach and pool area. They pamper you the whole day long! We can really recommend the Melia Bali resort without any restrictions! Thanks to entire Hotel team!
The setting is lovely with water features and nature in abundance. The staff is most welcoming and attentive and Nusa Dua is the mellow side of Bali, so 10 days booked in here for relaxation was a beautiful treat. A few tweaks could make this stay near perfect. To begin with, breakfast options were plentiful and for the most part tasty, but each and every day of my 10 day stay the options were exactly the same. They had a nice selection of ethnic foods - Indian, Spanish, etc, but the food was the same menu every day. For example, Indian Aloo Gobi each day and it looked to have been re-heated from the previous day. An easy place for the resort to up their game would be to change selections at least a couple times a week. Additionally, I went during spring break, so should have known it would be overflowing with kids..my mistake. I'd return at a different time of year. So, little changes would have made this a perfect stay. Insider tip - if you want to be near the water and more private, the bottom floor of each building had suites that opened out to a more private pool without the masses and music. And the villas were lovely. :)
We spent 4 nights at the Melia at the end of a work trip and thoroughly enjoyed it. The garden and grounds are beautiful and well looked after. There are many restaurants and bars. I would highly recommend upgrading to a lagoon room. We were in building 1, room 26. This would be the one to ask for if you would like a quieter stay in a lagoon room (room 23 to 31 in this area would all be good). Building 2 is a little busier. The main pool is nice but we found it gets really warm at this time of year where as the lagoon is cooler. This hotel is not cheap but nothing 5 star in Nusa is on Bali standards. We enjoyed our meals here other than at the Japanese restaurant...although the service was good. You can walk left along the beachfront and go to many other restaurants and bars along this stretch. Would definitely recommend staying at this hotel again.
Wanted a relaxing couples break in a traditional style Balinese resort atmosphere. We got it. Great value (had all inclusive package and Garden view room), gardens immaculate, friendly staff, excellent food at restaurants and pool area (breakfast was good not great, lots of asian food selection though), nice local wines. Can be expensive if you pay as you go and eat and drink at resort which typically all resorts are. Room clean, bed comfy. Different daily activities included, there is a pool and beach area to relax. Upmarket shops and local traders close by including eateries, plenty of safe walking areas, next to other resorts. Would revisit this resort if come back to Bali. Very nice touch where the staff can place a message in the sand for birthdays, etc.
(April 10-13. 2018) We had a three night AI booking at the end of a three week trip to Oz and this was the perfect end to our holiday. Hotel arranged a taxi pick up from airport, who we then hired privately for the time we were there. Very good English speaking gentleman, who charges per hour/per morning* (5-6 hours) or per day (*approx 400kRp) - please PM me for his details. Our room (split level family room - king size double bed/ toilet/shower on top floor, 2 single beds- will pullouts underneath/toilet on lower floor) was perfect for our older children of 11 &15. There is a stair gate only at the bottom of the stairs, probably not so suitable if you have younger children who like to share you bed. (however as mentioned there are pullout beds with the single beds in the lower floor) the room was clean, linen fresh with good air con. Breakfast was plentiful- omelettes/freshly cooked eggs and a good variety of food. You won’t go hungry. During the day our children loved the Smoothie Bar -very refreshing - and ice creams were available from 12:00 (not sure why there is a time limit on there?) The pool was very large and loungers were available no problem. (Bear in mind that we travelled at the beginning of April, so the resort was quite empty) Service during the day was excellent, both in the restaurants for lunch/evening meal and around the poolside. The restaurants that we used did not require bookings (again, as mentioned, the resort was quite empty, so please refer to reviews that refer to the time of year you are visiting) and both the service and food were excellent. Staff were extremely polite and helpful. The AI was extended even after checkout, allowing us to use pool facilities and restaurants until our taxi arrived. As for Nusa Dua beach, is extremely shallow, so not good for swimming, but beautiful to walk out in. The resorts private beach was very clean - I can’t comment on how rubbish is cleared/where rubbish goes, as did not see anyone doing this job. Just that the main beach (just to right of private beach) and certainly the beach at Kuta, we’re very disappointingly strewn with rubbish and plastic- as is an ongoing issue with our beaches/seas. Overall a very relaxing, very wonderful stay. A fabulous place base to yourself while you explore Bali. We will definitely book again.
Stayed in a junior level suite between 4/4 and 14/4. Fantastic hotel IF you have purchased level access. We have stayed in Nusa Dua before but this hotel’s service deserves an extra special mention. The Level is an exclusive service area providing a lounge for cocktails and snacks 5:30-7:30pm all of the staff here from check in to evening drinks to checkout were superb! The Level pool is an adults only paradise away from the main pool. The staff here simply cannot do enough for you! Special mention for Dharma and Wahyu for their attentiveness. The Level private beach area extends the service and you are never more than a buzzer away from a cold towel or smoothie!! We never had an issue finding a bed at the pool or the beach. The room was lovely and had two toilets which was very handy getting ready in the evening. The bed was super comfy and because the suites are split levels there was no noise from any rooms below. If I was to call out anything and it really does feel like nitpicking it would be to recommend if you are tall I.e over 6ft you could probably have an issue using the shower over the bath, simply because the ceiling height in the bathroom is low. We managed and it wasn’t a problem, but worth considering if you are on the taller side! The Level has its own breakfast area at the Sorrento this was gorgeous again the service was incredible. We tried all but one of the restaurants. The surprise was El Patio when one night we really just wanted pizza. El Patio is a 24 hour restaurant. The pizza was divine !!!!!!! Unfortunately for us the Santeria beach front restaurant was just too noisy and was the main place all of the hotel guests spent the evening. If you are looking for a relaxed quiet meal this might not be for you. For a special meal the Sorrento is a beautiful setting although away from the sea. One recommendation we would ask of the hotel would be to maybe do cocktails and drinks at the Level Pool Area following afternoon tea. It is a beautiful setting and would enhance the service even more. All in all a beautiful hotel right on the doorstep of neighboring hotels for different dining options and within an easy 10 min walk to Bali collection with boutique shops and restaurants and spas. Thank you everyone at Melia x
This is the 2nd time we’ve been to Bali but the first as a family. We could not have picked a better resort. Location was wonderful in Nusa Dua, right on the beach and easy access to restaurants and markets if wanting to eat outside of the resort. We booked an all inclusive stay and it was great value. We regularly travel all inclusive so we’re able to compare, also having stayed at another Bali all inclusive resort on the area before. Food, local drinks, mini bar, room service, and the kids club were all included. Resort food was great and option to eat at five restaurants (so not only buffet style). Sorrento was a favourite of ours - delicious food, attentive and friendly staff. Facilities were great with gorgeous verdant gardens, and a great main pool with many loungers and call buttons for waiters. We stayed in a standard room initially which was great. Big comfortable bed and a bath and shower. We then upgraded to a lagoon room for our last two nights, which was quieter as we could just step out of our deck into the pool. We enjoyed spending time in both rooms as the first got us out to enjoy the resort pool and vibe, and the 2nd gave us some tranquility and privacy. While there I also enjoyed the spa for a massage and haircut. Ariani was lovely. Though you can get a massage locally for less, I love the experience of going to a proper spa for an hour of peace and quiet. Our 6 year old son spent some time at the Kids Club. Thank you Sasih, Fonda, Maria, Dani and Mia. Our son was sad to leave the friends he’d made and he thoroughly enjoyed the activities: arts, treasure hunts, sports and movie night on the lawn. We had a wonderful stay 9 night at Meliá Bali and recommend it and will do so to our friends and family too.
