We have just finished a 5 night stay st kupu kupu and was totally impressed. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed by Yves and his team. We were put in a lovely big room but unfortunately after some heavy rains we got a leak. Yves promptly moved us into a better room by the pool which was very nice. We did 2 yoga classes which was great and these were complimentary. The pool if fabulous nice and long for doing laps. The food was amazing. Had one of the most delicious dinners ever! Great buffet breakfast, going to miss the banana bread. The staff was very friendly and helpful, always there with a smile. The hotel has a beach club at the beach which is a short walk from the hotel. At beach club you can sit on banana lounge with bintang and watch the planes take off. Had an awesome stay and would highly recommend, especially if you want yummy food.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a 7 night trip to Bali. The hotel is lovely, amazingly decorated with restaurants, bars and shops on the ground floor. The room was very big with a huge bed, walk in shower and a nice sized balcony over looking one of their pools. The staff were friendly and professional but not quite as attentive as their other hotel in Bali but still offered an excellent level of service. The pool area was very nice but more of an adults relaxing pool rather than one for kids to splash about in. They have a Japanese, Indian and Indonesian restaurant as well as a bar in the hotel. The food was excellent in all of them! They have a link with a beach club which is a 5-10 minute walk away or if you ask nicely a short trip in their beach buggy! The beach club is very nice, it's right on the beach and serves food and drinks for most of the day. The only downside to the hotel was that everything closes at 10.30 - 11.00pm so if you want a later night then you need to go out. This may be because we went in their quieter season though. Their spa is amazing, so even if you just pop in for a treatment it's worth it!

We were lucky to be upgraded on arrival to a nice Duplex room facing the infinite pool. The manager of the hotel took time to welcome us personally and in our native language (French). The Room is well decorated and you have all the necessary amenities available. The staff of the hotel is taking extra good care of you in a really discreet way (this is definitely a + for me). Last but not least, they offered us to take care of our luggage on our last day after checkout as we had a late flight back to Europe. And allowed us to use their facilities to take a last shower before leaving (after a day outside, going to the beach, a shower before a 20H flight is more than welcome). If going back to Jimbaran, I would definitely choose Kupu Kupu.

Love at the first sight when we came to this hotel. The receptionist was very kind and gave us a nice surprise. Kupu- Kupu also well designed with many Balinese ornaments. The hotel size is not too big - but our duplex room is big enough for stay with 2 children. Their food in Chocolate restaurant and Indian Tandoori is really really delicious. We tried at lunch, dinner several times despite not so much choice at breakfast time. One of our best decision to enjoy the year-end gala dinner in here. If you want to find the intimate hotel, stay away from the busy place, I will recommend you to stay here. You won't be regret, and please try also the spa. My wife love it...

We stayed 7 nights here and had a great time. The most striking features of this hotel are its people and the beach club: both are brilliant. The manager could not have been more helpful, and every member of staff we met was a delight. The beach club is really a posh shack, and is all the better for that. Wonderful place for breakfast. And lunch. And dinner. And evening drinks. Best food in the area, and great views

We were at Kupu Kupu Hotel and had a wonderful experience of Balinese massage at Mango Tree Spa by L Occitane by Provence. Prior appointment is required and this experience is as must as enjoying river view from personal swimming pool of room. Massage was great and the interior adds an added advantageous relax.

Very average stay at best. Not a 4/5 star hotel by any standards that the hotel and the site promises. Not worth the money for sure. 1) safety- my biggest concern. We were 'upgraded' to a suite which had a living room and the bathroom on the ground floor and the stairs led up to the bedroom. It was a largish space and with stairs so common sense would determine that you would have lights separately for the living and the bedroom. But no, you can't switch off the lights in the bedroom without switching off the master lights of the house! And God forbid if u want to go to the loo in the middle of the night.. It's an accident waiting to happen! No lights mean near-impossible to navigate those stairs!! DON'T GET YOUR KIDS HERE PLS. 2) very very few charging points- for a room. this size, we could hardly find 2-3 charging points 3) old and run down- creaky floor boards 4) service- don't expect your typical Balinese hospitality. It seems most people work here because they are forced to. Asked the waitress for butter for my bread at breakfast and she asked me to go get it myself! Well thank u 5) food - poor quality and taste. Flies on the cut fruits on the buffet is quite the norm here. Taste below avg 6) overall layout of the room- well I am uncomfortable with the toilet and the shower being separated, both being in the living room separated by a thin curtain. If this works for u good.. Not my cup of tea for sure 7) water dripping from the aircon- complained for 3days.. But then never was fixed!

I stayed here for 3 days. Staff was very helpful and explained well about part of the hotel. I got room no 05 at third floor and the view was so good because off the rooftop pool. The pool is not too big but it's quite nice. I tried massage and spa for 90 minutes and it really made me relax. I had an amazing stay here.

I am quite a seasoned Tripadvisor geek and read through a lot of reviews before making a decision and decided I could put up with a couple of maintenance issues for a hotel that has a little more character. Overall the stay was pleasant, we were there for 3 nights and I still think it's ok value for money. However, what I didn't expect was to return to our room to find water pouring in from the corner of the ceiling down the walls all over the floor after heavy rainfall. We called down to reception and they said someone would be right up, they never came. We didn't want to ruin our holiday by making an issue of it but this was certainly not acceptable. We used our towels to mop it up. The rainfall shower head also didn't work so we were left with the handheld shower which was below shoulder height which meant crouching down, not ideal. We also felt that we were about to go through the floor when stepping near the kettle, the floorboards have bowed so severely I am sure they are no longer safe. Avoid Uluwatu room 18. Other than that everything was as we expected, the room size is large and layout is good. We didn't use the pool as didn't look very appealing. Apart from the above issue the staff are generally very nice and breakfast was good. If you don't plan on spending too much time in your room then this is still ok value.
