Furama Villas & Spa Ubud, Bali

The hotel is located about 10 minutes from central Ubud the shuttle service is helpful as are the staff throughout the hotel. One improvement is that the private villas (well ours did) requires some maintenance, there was what looked like damp on the walls by the sun loungers and inside by the bed. However this didn't affect our stay hence the 4 stars. Food is delicious, particularly the selection at breakfast.

Ubud is quite, quieter than Kuta. This resort is conveniently located about 8 kms from ubud city centre. The place is a gem. One can relax here, use the spa. Hotel staff is amazing and extremely helpful. Rice paddy fields around makes it serene. We had a villa with private pool which we used to our hearts content. Hygiene was maintained in the top most conditions by the hotel staff and that was a very important element. It's a paradise for honeymooners.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel is great we had a villa with a private pool. The villa was great clean, tidy, really nice the room and pool was cleaned daily. The food in the restaurant is really good too plenty to choose from. We would definitely recommend going to the Balinese BBQ night too as the food and entertainment was great! The highlight of our stay and a must do for all guests is the bike tour with oka it is absolutely sensational! We did it in the pouring rain but still loved every second. We cycled through rice fields and local villages stopping for more information from oka. The locals in the villages were so friendly when we passed them and oka gives you a real insight into Bali many people would never see! He is absolutely amazing and what he does and is a true credit to the hotel. We could not have had a better guide!!! Thank you oka!

"An absolutely beautiful area - our room could not have been better and we had our own spa beds in the garden which we throughly enjoyed and private pool it was absolutely amazing architecture in the garden. The villa was very traditional and gorgeous, Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. We had the best massages but they were a bit too expensive, but all together everything was worth it . The only thing which was bothering us was that some food at the breakfast was inedible due to insufficient covering, for example some open salads and fruit mixes because there were many of little flies all over them."

Furama is a 10 to 20 minute drive from the city center. They have complimentary shuttle services that take you in and pick you up throughout the day. The buffe breakfast is impeccable! The staff at Furama were so lovely and work really hard to keep their guests comfortable and happy. The resort and rooms were magnificent if you enjoy an outdoorsy/jungle atmosphere. I highly recommend this resort for anyone wanting an extremely peaceful and relaxing getaway. You should go on a bike ride with the lovely staff member Oka. You will see the beautiful balinese cautlture and some amazing views. Thankyou so much Furama Staff for the fantastic service and peaceful getaway. Your good English skills made everything hassle free. Thanks again to Oka for your friendly conversation and wealth of knowledge. Love Ellie and Maddy 112

Had 3 nights here on a Luxury Escapes deal. The villa we were taken to had a severe musty smell. So severe that it gave me a headache. We complained and housekeeping were sent and offered us an oil burner to remove the smell. We refused that and asked for another villa. After around an hour the manager arrived and took us to another one to inspect. I didn't smell so we agreed to move. The next evening and thereafter there was a slight musty smell but not nearly as bad as the first villa. They had obviously used an oil burner prior to our inspection. The villas are beautiful, private and with more than adequate facilities. But they are badly in need of renovation. The reason some villas smell musty is the dampness in the walls and probably underlying structures. There are signs of rising damp throughout the two villas we saw and in other parts of the resort. Most parts of the resort look old and worn - even down to the towels and tablecloths. Furniture throughout the resort is old. Some of the restaurant plates had chips in them. One pair of complimentary sandals provided in the room had clearly been worn previously. It would have been spectacular in its early years, but now looks old and very tired. The other main issue is that it is a long way from Ubud village - at least 20-30 minutes by car. So if you want to spend plenty of time in the village this is definitely not the place to be. The one saving grace of this place are the friendly, helpful staff. Everyone we came across made our stay pleasurable. We will definitely be more careful about offers through Luxury Escapes in future.

We couldn't have chosen anywhere better to start our Bali excursion. From arriving until we left it was an amazing place to stay with the most wonderful staff that really made you feel welcome. The Shuttle into Ubud made trips out a breeze and taxi's back were only around IDR100,000 (£6.00-£7.00) if you wanted to stay after the last pick up(usually 18.15) Plenty of places to eat in Ubud and all that we tried were very good prices if you want a night out away from the hotel. Breakfast was very nice and had plenty of choices, the staff always on hand to help out if your unsure on some of the items. Overall we loved our villa (101) with its private little pool and the whole experience but it was the staff that made it perfect. Such amazingly friendly people. My only criticism is that parts of the place need a bit of Upgrading, tlc or a splash of paint.

Can u imagine woke up in the middle of the night with lots of ants in your bed? The worst villa ever! Do something to keep your reputation! Do not let it happen again to ruin someone's vacation!!

We were warmly welcomed at check in and offered an upgrade to the exclusive villas but I preferred the deluxe pool villas we had chosen so declined the offer. Our villa was amazing in a beautifully kept lush garden with our own private pool. The villa itself was spacious with a massive comfortable bed and big bathroom. The outside shower was a nice touch. The bed linen was clean but a bit grey and needed updating as did some of the paint work but this did not affect our enjoyment and comfort but would give a more luxurious feel. We loved out stay and found the whole resort so relaxing. It is in the most beautiful location and the staff were exceptional. The breakfast was a little disappointing and it was particularly busy a couple of mornings. The restaurant had an amazing view though over the pool and paddy fields. We ate dinner at the hotel a couple of nights. The food was lovely and pricrs were not too bad but it we found we were the only ones there so it lacked any atmosphere. We used the shuttle service one day and that worked very well. We also had one of there staff take us out for a morning shopping and that worked well too.

What can i say, the staff are so frendly and helpful. The food is great and the Villas have such a great atmosphere with open air shower, super size bath tub and private pool. The only negative would be the price of the spa services, $66 AU for a one hour massage compared to $10 AU in Ubud its self. Highly recommend.
