Been here last January, and we loved it. Upon arrival in the Bali Airport, two of their staffs are already waiting for you, right before we step out in our plane. They will assist you to the immigration line, then to the lounge, you don’t have to pick your luggage, they will do it for you. We booked for their Stress Management Program and believe me, this place is really a must try! If you’re looking for a total relaxation and away from noise and city life, then this hotel is for you. Staying for 5 days, we can say that that was the most relaxing week of our lives. Perfect for meditation since it’s literally in the jungle. Healthy living for a week. I never imagine that I will enjoy eating healthy foods, organic to be exact. Even their fresh juices and smoothies are all healthy and yummy! I always end up asking for their “cool down juice/smoothie”, a perfect drink any time of the day. Loved the private pool in our villa, it’s heated, but just the right temperature for us. We also tried joining some of their wellness activities such as rock climbing and rice field biking, and all of their instructors are nice and friendly. Shoutout to Bawa and Samara (I’m not sure with his name, but he’s one of their rice field biking guide), who are very patient to us. Because we booked a wellness program, a daily massage was included to the package. It’s really good, it will make you “stress free” after. Thanks to Suma, my massage therapist. And oh, I almost forgot to mention Subi, our personal assistant, he’s so accommodating and helpful to us. You have your own personal assistant but you can still have your privacy. All the staffs will greet you with a smile. Everything is excellent and worth the money.

Walking in to estate, I was immediately taken by the sense of serenity. I received a warm greeting and a welcome drink. Walking into the villa, I knew this was the place I could relax. It was private, spacious and complete. Everything from bed linen to towels - brilliant. Heated private pool, steam bath - all within the villa and our butler Eka was always on hand. Chef Dewa provided us with amazing, healthy food. Different flavours for every meal. All equally appetising and at times I felt I was being greedy given the amount I ate. In terms of digital entertainment, there were several channels in different languages and for movies there was a dvd player but we spent most of our time by pool, on the swing, in the steam bath, talking walks or at the restaurant. Brilliant Como Shambhala Estate! I look to coming back.

What can I say, fantastic place, incredibly attentive staff, new experiences, fantastic food, just a joy. Left 100% better than when arrived. My only very very small moan, is being charged for the mini bar juices, which seemed a little not in keeping.

I booked 3 nights at Como Shambala Estate. The resort was absolutely beautiful, despite the heavy rain during my stay. Additionally, the food was delicious without the guilt (I even ordered their cookbook when I returned). Like most luxury hotels, it is the attentive staff along with the hotel’s natural beauty that sets it apart from the others. At Como Shambala, It was no different. Each guest is assigned a personal assistant and the staff whether it be yoga or breakfast knows your name and is there to make your holiday better. There was one or two things along the way which I was slightly disappointed about- the fire alarm in another part of the hotel went off two of three nights but that was due to the heavy rain and is not the norm. I booked the trip “solo” based on other reviews however I am not sure if I would recommend the Como Shambala for solos travelers unless one is seeking pure solitude or if you are joining one of their retreats. The resort is so beautiful, the food is so delicious, from my perspective, the experience should be shared. I would also recommend to book one fo their packages vs a la carte. I very much hope to return to the Como for a shared experience and it would be a privilege to experience so much what they have to offer in sunny weather!

Absolutely unique and best resort in Ubud area. Green paradise, beautiful gardens, jungle, riverside and amazing natural pools. If you are looking to enjoy a romantic vacation with top service in Bali, this is the choice number 1!

My wife and I stayed here for two nights with our two adult children. We shared a lovely suite with an infinity pool on our level, spacious outdoor living space and the kids’ bedroom down below. We had to descend three flights of stairs to enter our villa, but it was worth it. Our butler was attentive and professional. The grounds are special, with the hotel set on a steep hill above a jungled ravine plunging down to the river. One descends hundreds of steps to emerge at a sacred spring (we drank the water emerging from the mountain). The hotel has created numerous pools from the spring runoff, where one can bathe or relax on a deck chair surrounded by verdant tropical plants (and a few leeches on some of the foliage). Or you can access this area by the roundabout “estate walk” path, following a tributary to the main river, where you can watch and hear excited river rafters making their way down class 1 and 2 rapids. The spa was great with world-class massage therapists, a nice change from the many mediocre massages we experienced in Bali. However, the hydrotherapy experience in which you move from one type of water jet to another was kind of lame. The food was creative, healthy and fresh (breakfasts were outstanding), but the available dishes were a bit too precious and spa-oriented for our hungry 20 year-old children. This is a very special property. I’m glad I had the chance to visit, while still able to navigate the dramatic elevation changes.

I visited here my last day in Bali. The boyfriend and I were going to stay here but chose another hotel to save a few dollars. What a mistake! This place was breathtaking, with gorgeous clean decor and amazing views. We enjoyed the spa, restaurant and grounds and all surpassed expectations. My massage was top notch, and the setting in an outdoor pavillion was just stunning and added to the relaxation of the service. Outdoor shower was so peaceful too. Only thing I'd change from the spa experience is that they should have extra towels- we were given the same towel that was used to wipe off the massage oil on our bodies to dry off after the shower. When we inquired of another towel, they didn't have extras. I had a facial as well, and while it was relaxing, the massage was definitely the highlight. Restaurant food was delicious and their fresh fruit drink combos were amazing. Service from all ends was gracious and hospitable, even as we were not guests of the hotel. Overall atmosphere was one of utter relaxation. After half a day here, my boyfriend was the most relaxed I'd seen him in a long time. Next time we are in Bali, we will certainly be overnight guests!

I've been going since about 2000 and love it . The food is very clean and you sleep well. Its a great place to go alone. I will be back. The grounds are simply stunning. No place like it and Ive been to all the top hotels in Bali. Its not a party place but great for reflection and taking care of yourself. I loved my butler too. He was great .

This is my second stay at Como and I am not surprised that the service and care are, if not better, still so great. Although we have just stayed with the estate, we are already looking forward to our next visit. Keep up the good work!

What a place!! One of the best hotels we stayed in the world. It is in middle of the jungle. The service is outstanding, the quality of the rooms is at the top. The food is excellent. The spa services were also excellent.
