Last time i stayed at astana is about 4 years ago. And it was wonderfull. But this time i am kind a dissapointed. The villa is lack of maintance. One of the staff said ro me they actually need more staff to run the villa. I found out the villa's floor was not being cleaned recently, i found the sofa is worn out. Bath room hardware also worn out. And also some of the furniture. I really love astana and i wish the management could fix and repair or even refresh the villa.
This hotel won a lot Trip Advisor rewards in 2012/2013, unfortunately the hotel has not been maintained well since then. The towels were ripped, some with holes in them. The bathrooms have bad calcium build up. The breakfast was also quite bad. We stayed at this hotel a few years ago and loved it. How we did not enjoy our stay this time and are leaving early.
My husband and i stayed here for 7 nights. We wanted to just relax with noone else around and this was just perfect. It needs a lot of repairs done to the room but it was still nice. If you just wanted to get away and relax on your own this is great but its far away from everthing. If you wanted to go shopping or to restaurants you need to get a taxi everywhere or hire a scooter.
Places in north seminyak, near direction to canggu area, Astana Batubelig hold its private style room villa on its own serenity. Not so crowded place and rest-able place in dense area seminyak. The room is well arranged with living room area-bedroom area-bathroom area. Simply and modern style. Also private pool is sufficient big for couple. Food taste is standard, not wonderful and not bad either. If you looking for private-style room with pools in seminyak area, you must see this..
We were very happy with all aspects of the accommodation, staff were very friendly and helpful! Location was great for us, lots of lovely restaurants close by. Thank you very much for your hospitality
Staff were out of this world and nothing was ever too much of a hassle. The breakfast every day was amazing and the private pool was the best. The villas are right next door to a reputable money exchange and several mini marts. There are many restaurants within walking distance including the Watercress and La Gastronomia - both have incredible food! We liked that it was out of the super busy hustle bustle but still not far from Kuta, Legian or Seminyak. If you have any problems the staff would go out of their way to fix it, the service was astounding! Would definitely recommend!
i stayed here with my friend and we really had a great time together, bcause we got all we need. Really nice place to spend your holiday at bali, we had a great private pool - which they clean it every day- , private bathtub - and shower, and kitchen tools, sofa, etc. The breakfast are amazing ! they have so many options for it. It's a perfect place to spend your quality time while in bali :) , it's really close to the beach, ATM centre and food place , so you got all you need :) minus - the head shower is broken but that's not a problem bcause we can use another one.
My husband and were so excited after the long journey to arrive at out 'Luxury' private villa. We had looked at the photos online and in a brochure and chosen these villas as one of the more expensive options; they must be good, right? How wrong we were!! Our experience went downhill from the moment we pulled up outside. The frontage is shabby and only one car's length from the road. It certainly didn't match the photos we had seen. The reception area is small and tired and we seemed to wait an age for the keys to our room. We were led down an narrow, uneven cobbled area, past the stinking rubbish bins (slightly hidden from view by gates which did nothing to diminish the smell of rotting food etc) to the villa. On entering the property my heart sank. The villa was dark, dated and shabby. Certainly not of the quality suggested by the website, photographs and brochure. EVERY surface was stained, mirrors were cracked and mouldy, ALL of the seat covers were stained and dirty and I certainly didn't want to sit on any of the seats in the villa. The air conditioning was effective enough, wafting the enormous cobwebs in the corners of the room. The bed sheets and pillow cases were yellow, stained and the bed had hairs on it. The fabric of the bed was frayed at the corners. There was no way either of us wanted to contemplate who or what had been in the bed before us. So gross!! The bath was dirty, the shower head was so poorly fitted and clogged that very little water came out other than to spray the ceiling and side walls. Some of the tiles in the shower had large cracks. The toilet was stained and the seat was so yellow and stained that I could not bring myself to sit on it. Even the toilet roll holder was rusty. The spider lurking in the toilet area was probably glad to escape! The towels were frayed, yellow and stained so any attempt to wash the grime off would be futile. Heading outside the pool area received very little sun and the ants swarming around the seating didn't improve things much. My husband and I took very little time to discuss our next move....leave and quickly! We have both travelled extensively, staying in a wide variety of accommodation from hostels and campsites to luxury hotels and resorts and this is the first time we have refused to stay somewhere. 'Luxury' is an absolute joke! We are currently hoping to claim back the cost of booking the villa as it was certainly not fit for purpose.
My wife and I booked this 'luxurious' modern villa at short notice as we thought the photos showed a modern, clean and well located accommodation option in Bali. We arrived at the villa complex and my initial though was that we must be at the wrong location. Where was the restaurant area at the front of the complex and where was the vast open parking area? Unfortunately it was the right location and this was the lightbulb moment where I realised this was going to be an utter disaster. I wasn't proved wrong. We waited for a while before our keys arrived and then we were escorted to our villa. We were almost the last villa in a long line of buildings (villa no. 124) and as we passed the stinking bin area (bins were behind louvred doors) we arrived at our 'luxurious' villa. The outside door was opened and this led into a courtyard where we could see the pool. All looked fairly ok at this point but it was about to change. We entered the kitchen area of the villa and the first thing we noticed was that the interior did not match the lovely photographs shown online and in the brochure we had seen. The room was dark, tired and outdated. The kitchen units were marked and dirty and every seat in the dining area was stained and the wood chipped or cracked. We entered the bedroom area with increasing dismay as we looked at the first of two sofas each side of the bed. It was disgusting. Dubious stains covered the sofa and I wouldn't have approached it without a contamination suit on, let alone sit on it. (The thought still makes me want to vomit). The bed sheets were yellow and covered in stains and what I assume were human hairs. We were now beginning to realise that we were potentially in the start of a living nightmare and our long awaited vacation was about to freefall from a great height into a cesspit. The second sofa was equally as contaminated as the first. The shower (and this made me actually laugh I must admit but it was more of one of those 'this surely can't get any worse' laughs) was so poorly fitted that when we turned it on to test it, the water sprayed out of the top of the shower head and not the bottom! The water sprayed upwards and sideways and the only dry spot in the shower cubicle was under the shower! The toilet was the next stop...... I'm not saying it was as contaminated as the two sofas (they could keep scientists busy for years examining what microscopic putrid life existed on them) but I certainly would have 'hovered' if I'd actually dared to use the toilet. The mirrors were cracked in both the kitchen area and bathroom. Outside was basically okay. Okay because you were no longer inside. All in all, I don't have the vocabulary to put in this narrative exactly how bad this horrendous, terrible, filthy and squalid accommodation was. We simply couldn't stay any longer in that science experiment of a room so we immediately got a taxi into Seminyak to have a cold beer and decide what we were going to do. We decided to leave and find accommodation elsewhere (anywhere actually) which is what we did. We went to The Seminyak Beach Hotel where we immediately had a hot shower and scrubbed ourselves down and we ended up having a great holiday. We are currently trying to get a full refund of the accommodation costs for Astana Batubelig Villas under the trade descriptions act if not a health and safety issue!! My only advice to anyone reading this review is this. If you are sane and want to have a lovely holiday in Bali then NEVER EVER book this rotting cesspit of a complex to stay in. Even in a zombie apocalypse. Trust me, you'd rather just get eaten.
Astana was located in excellent location, near to mini market, restaurant, pubs. The staffs are friendly and helpful, The layout of the villa is beautiful you can't even hear another people from your room. It was spacious, clean, no stains at the couch or the towels,I love the villa room colour shade minimalis and clean. The pool located right in front of you so you can easily jump to the pool by opening the window. The bathroom consists of the shower room and free standing bath tub which is amazing. The price including the breakfast that you can choose between american or indonesian style. We tried the Indonesian one and well im sorry to say that its not good enough for me. Aside of that everything is perfect!
