We had a fantastic 5 night stay. Staff were extremely helpful throughout. We were upgraded at no cost on arrival to a superior room with a large terrace and amazing views. It comfortably accommodated two adults and 2 small kids. We were also given temporary access to another room following check-out to enable us to freshen up before our evening flight home. Secluded location right on the clifftop. Great pool. We really liked the Sea Fire restaurant next to the pool with BBQ seafood and local live music. No hesitation in recommending this hotel.
We had a two bedroom ocean front villa and the view over the impossible surf break was fantastic especially as our sons surfed there every day. The bathroom is a little run down as was the sofas in the living room but overall it was a large, comfortable apartment.
We were staying for 3D2N. Wi-fi was pretty troublesome at some point and it was difficult to find transport since the area is like isolated. But regardless, both staff n service were outstanding. Props to the resort photographer, Moshi. She is super friendly n professional in doing her job. We had a wonderful time doing photoshoot with her. Overall, we had a great experience staying in Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort. Keep up the good work 😁
Highly recommended! Stunning view, very nice rooms and good service. Be aware of the location (not busy like seminyak or a lot of restaurants/nightlife). In my opinion perfect for a few days (the view is worth a trip and we stayed two nights to relax by the amazing pool overlooking the ocean. Also recommended to stay in a room with pool and view).
Let's think about what makes a great Bali hotel, (1) Location: Uluwatu is a slightly isolated location at the southern tip of the island near great surf spots, the hotel sits on a cliff top overlooking the Indian Ocean giving some lovely views, the strip taken by the hotel is not overly large giving limited space for pools/restaurants/seating areas etc, if you want to go to Kuta/Legian/Seminyak it is a long drive on Bali's ever-worsening crowded roads with a driver (2) Facilities: we had a nice ocean view room with private pool situated at the front area of the resort, my wife though it was a little claustrophobic as the only window area faced the sea; the is only a limited homage to Balinese style with a fairly modern style of architecture (3) Food: the tepenyaki bar was really very good, the breakfasts were very nice held on the sixth floor of the main building with nice views of the sea, the food selection was excellent with Asian, Western and more including a good egg/omelette bar; the BBQ area low in the complex was pleasant but overpriced (4) Activities: if you want an exciting activity every minute - don't come here except for surfers who have a great ride with a pipeline out the front, there are some activities but the intention is rest, spa and relaxation; my wife tells me the spa is excellent and she has had stress-release, facials, neck massage etc (5) Staff: as is often the case in Bali, the staff were fantastic, caring and tuned in to your needs, we are very grateful to them for their attention and concern (6) Maintenance: we felt this was a concern at the Anantara Uluwatu, our door handle broke, our sliding glass door to the pool jammed, my hand basin was partially blocked for the duration and our private pool unexpectedly drained overnight; the pool was refilled quickly and the sliding door also attended to with speed, however our feeling was that routinue maintenance would avert break down for guests (7) Value for money: only fair unfortunately, we expected more from a really five star property, I don't think we would return but thank you to the staff for their efforts
Good hotel..very recommend...soon i will be back..the staff is good, quick check in..the breakfast so good and my room so comfortable..the view so beauty..the pool so clean and family so happy stay at this hotel
Overall good stay and great customer service. Good quality food at the pool side restaurant. Wifi reception was not very good in the rooms. Drinking glasses during breakfast buffet were often dirty. Silverware on tables left in the open with flies often resting on them. Same experience for the food not covered for the buffet. Utensils issue fixed by using a glass of hot water. However, I limited breakfast to food from the covered containers or cooked fresh. Spa treatment was cut short. Ordered a 200 minute session, which ended up being, at the most, 180 minutes. The actual massage time seemed to be rushed. Overall, very good experience. Good selection of excursion activities and customer service made up for any shortcomings.
I stayed at Anantara Uluwatu with my two grown children as a dream vacation we planned for years to explore Bali. The Villa we stayed in was amazing with tremendous amenities and restaurants on site. As spectacular as the views and facilities were, it was the hospitality of the staff that really made this a special introduction to Bali. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with the warmth of Balinese culture. Unfortunately during my stay I injured my knee surfing and the entire staff responded with care and support for the rest of our stay including trips to the hospital. Every member of the staff made me feel like I was surrounded by concerned family who truly cared about my well being and made the vacation wonderful despite the little setback. The location is in the midst of the prime location in Bali for (experienced) surfers albeit a bit of a climb down to the waves. I can't wait to return and see my good friends at Anantara and enjoy the bit of paradise in Bali again.
We stayed here for 3 nights during our three week honeymoon in Bali. Although the hotel staff service around the pool was good, and the room was reasonable and comfortable, the hotel facilities are outdated and not maintained to a "5 star" standard. We paid a significant amount if money to stay there and compared to any other hotel we have stayed at in this price range, we were disappointed. Highlights: - decent locations - staff driving the hotel shuttle were great - bedroom was reasonable in size and modernness and bed was comfortable - all rooms have a great view Lowlights: - no one was there to greet us when we arrived (at check in time....) or take our bags - our bathroom was not clean (hair clumps on our floor, in the shower, dead bugs in the bathroom, cobwebs in the shower) - breakfast was minimal and the worst of any of our hotels in terms of healthy selections (buffet style and mostly Asian food) - front desk staff quoted inconsistent transit prices and made us feel like we were getting scammed (when paying to stay at this level of a chain of hotels, you shouldn't have to negotiate the hotel shuttle transit prices!) - poolside bathrooms were so dark I couldn't find my way.....install better lighting! - the restaurant both poolside & main area were outdated and way overpriced for food (we choose never to eat there other than breakfest because it was included) - the room beside us room service sat outside our door for two days before it was cleaned up -wifi is only available in the main building (not poolside) We do not recommend this hotel and rather chose to stay at a small surfer hotel close by which frankly is far better value for the money (even if it isn't "5 star")!
We stayed at Anantara for 6 day in a suite with private pool. The room and view was amazing but it should be expected with the prices. At some places it felt like the hotel have not been renovated since they built it and it. Checking in service was a bit bad but it could possible been some communication problems and the service got better after the check in. Prices for the hotel services are a bit to pricey but there is a few good layback restaurants near the hotel. You pay for the view at this hotel and I would recommend to have a sea view room with private pool. Breakfast was decent and restaurant food too.
