Beautiful resort/s but too many rules on where you can go and eat/drink based on which resort on the property you are staying at. The trade off to beautiful well designed resort is the constant instagrammers/nfluencers who are always trying to get that “perfect shot”. Food was ok but should be more elevated for the price . If you want amazing pics to send to your followers and can handle the constant stream or people also wanting to get that shot then this is the place for you. Personalisation and the warm feeling is lost here compared to other luxury resorts in Bali.

I had the most incredible experience at Ayana Resort! From the moment I arrived, the level of service was exceptional. The staff was warm, attentive, and made me feel truly welcome. The resort itself is breathtaking, with stunning ocean views, lush gardens, and luxurious amenities. The dining options were fantastic, offering a variety of cuisines that catered to every taste. I especially enjoyed the Rock Bar, where I could sip cocktails while watching the sunset — it was magical! The spa services were also top-notch, providing the perfect relaxation experience. The place is lovely. For this type of property, you would expect the staff to have a working level of English (I’m not a native speaker, but when abroad, English is the language we all use). I booked a table at Rock Bar for sunset drinks. I asked for a glass of water to accompany my glass of whiskey. After 45 minutes of discussing whether the water was free or not, and asking to give me water even if I had to pay for it, I finally had my water, but the sunset was gone, the mood was ruined and I’m never coming back. The morning we were leaving the AC did not work. When I phoned to ask to check out, the AC magically turned on - nice way of kicking people out.

We had a magical stay at Ayana Segara the newer of the the three hotels on property. All are amazing though, especially the original Ayana resort which is closest to the beach. The advantage is that you are able to use the facilities of all of them. Each one has incredible pools, great buffet breakfasts, gyms and just overall amazing facilities. There are different restaurants amongst the properties and one of our favorites was Unique Mexican restaurant on the roof top of the Rimba Hotel. There are free trams that take you from property to property. The highlights of the trip were Rock Bar at sunset 🌅 and the flower power party and the cultural show and Indonesian buffet on property that featured three typical dances. Was worth every penny. Also the private beach on the property turned out to be one of our favorites in Bali.
