We arrived late but the reception lady was very friendly and helpful, checking us in in seconds. The room was dated but clean and functional and was just a place to sleep for the night, overall it was very good for the price. The eating facilities and car charging options on site were all excellent also.

Staff were lovely but couldn't make up for the poor conditions. Rroom was hot despite cool weather, bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom had an unpleasant odor. Rumor was they were renovating rooms but we never saw one so can't confirm.

Reliable and easy

Fantastic as usual. Very reliable, very quiet. Only downside, is that if you are staying on the ground floor facing the car park, others may see you. There is a hedge which prevents this to a small degree. This is a very minor criticism- everything else is perfect, best value for money.

The worst hotel in the world.

I have stayed in my fair share of bad hotels in my time but this visit unfortunately has to rank as the worst hotel I've ever stayed at - bar none. If Basil Fawlty ever franchised a budget roadside inn, it would look suspiciously like the Days Inn by Stevenage North. What Hotels.com optimistically describes as a bar lounge turns out, in reality, to be a lonely fridge of bottled beer and a wheezing Stella Artois tap that spits foam into disposable plastic tumblers. Add a scattering of plastic chairs arranged with all the charm of a GP waiting room, and voilà – “the lounge.” Gastronomy, meanwhile, extends to a proud display of Haribo and Pot Noodles balanced mournfully on a shelf. Fine dining this is not. But the real pièce de résistance was the room. Mine stank of damp, the décor looked as though it had been carefully preserved from 1992, and, without asking, I was gifted a disabled-access shower and toilet setup. Quirky surprise aside, this would all have been forgiveable with a decent night’s sleep and a hot shower. Except – there was no hot water. Not in my room, not in anyone else’s from my group, meaning an entire floor of guests were left embarking on a cold, bracing rinse before work. Nothing makes you feel valued as a paying guest quite like being plunged into a budget reenactment of the Ice Bucket Challenge first thing in the morning. Avoid avoid avoid with all your strength. This is an embarrassment of an establishment!

The fan that was provided which was stored in the wardrobe, upon taking it out to use I couldn’t help but to notice how filthy it was. The amount of dust build up on the back and front was awful. I had my two daughters with me so there’s no way I could’ve used that to blow dust around the room, I think not!!! Secondly I paid for late check out which was until 1pm at a point of going outside I was stopped by the front desk and asked what room I was in and if asked if had paid for late check out which I did the night before so for me it’s the stopping to ask when that should’ve been something the gentleman should have known. I don’t like speaking unnecessarily and that was unnecessary again because that should have been on system. Only because of convenience with food shops right at your feet otherwise I wouldn’t stay here again.
