Great process, host very responsive. Had a golf cart issue and host responded promptly. House is in great location, loved the stay. The only thing preventing five stars was the interior and kitchen supplies a little outdated.

Amazing getaway!

The Marsh Mellow was the perfect getaway at Bald Head Island! The listing photos were very accurate, although nothing can describe or illustrate the beauty of the marsh setting. The view of Bald Head lighthouse has to be the best on the island! We were first time visitors to Bald Head and unfamiliar with beach access points and the hosts do a phenomenal job laying out the best access points on the island, and not to worry, all just a fun golf cart ride down the island. It is amazing to spend the day on the beach and then return to the serenity and beauty of the home nestled in the harbour. Absolutely magnificent and we are already planning a return trip (and hope it is to Marsh Mellow!).

Perfect Week!

We had two families with us. House is perfect location, near the marina. Enough space to spread out. Fully stocked kitchen. Absolute selling point is the back deck. Shaded every afternoon/evening. Perfect place to eat and unwind after a long day in the sun. Would love to stay there again! Everything went smoothly…

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is beyond compare. Views of the creek and lighthouse are magnificent and the view of the stars at night extraordinary. We love the convenience of the harbor as well. Will consider renting again!!

Unbeatable BHI Location!

We never want to leave Marsh Mellow! The water views from every window are amazing! It is so convenient to be close to the marina for shops, restaurants, lending library, and the ferry. Having two golf carts was perfect for a larger family. There are plenty of beach toys, bikes, chairs, scooters, fluffy beach towels, games, a glorious outdoor shower, on and on. There is nothing you want for but the very best thing of all is sitting on the huge patio relaxing on the couches, sharing a meal or early coffee, and grilling looking at Old Baldy, the changing light and mood of the creek and marsh grasses. There's not a view on Bald Head I enjoy more after ten years of traveling to the island. I worked in just about every room in the house - office, dining room, screened-in porch, on the deck, and on the upstairs deck, too. It made work so much better to be looking at the water. The crofter is also a super bonus of this beautiful home. Perfect for another couple or grandparents to come for a quick visit or the teens to argue over. It has the dreamiest perch. My favorite place to stay on the island and we felt extremely lucky to spend our beach week there this summer. It was a dream!!

Unprecedented stay!

Okay, guys, we’ve been on an off the island since the late 1980’s and have rented from just about every rental company. Hands down, our stay at Marsh Mellow was in our top ten stays! I’m just waiting for next year to open up so we can go ahead and book.

We had the best week at Marsh Mellow. The home, the views, the island, all of it was amazing! We have been coming to BHI for 10 years and this is by far our favorite house yet!

Wonderful Stay

This is a fabulous Bald Head rental home on the marsh! Lovely home with terrific marsh views. Several great outdoor spaces to enjoy the marvelous views. Great clean home in town just as advertised. Manager and owner are easily aceesible and in communication if anything comes up. Great home that we will happily rent again.

One of the best BHI stays!

Marsh Mellow was fantastic, now one of our favorites at BHI! It has great indoor and outdoor gathering spaces and a gorgeous marsh view. Well equipped kitchen if you want to cook and grill. Enough space for a full house to gather around the table. Furnishings were very cozy. My favorite spot was the back deck, the kids liked the hammock on the side porch. The neighborhood also has a community dock close by where we were able to launch our SUPs and kayak, and dabble with fishing and crabbing. The house has plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, boogie & skim boards and an outdoor, hot/cold enclosed shower.

The best

Best rental we’ve stayed in at Bald Head. Location is perfect, views are insane, bedrooms are spacious. We had a few things not working properly but they were minimal and property manager was responsive. Our two year old loved looking out at the light house at all hours of the day! Will most certainly return!

Marsh Mellow Exceeds Expectation!!!!!!

Our stay at Marsh Mellow could not have been more perfect! We had the privilege of being the first renters for this property. Loved the location on point of marsh - VIEWS WERE SPECTACULAR!!!! House had everything we needed & more! Golf carts were more than adequate - we preferred the Blue cart! We traveled to Shoals Club numerous times per day & never had issues of cart running out of battery charge! Did I mention the grill was brand new with extra tank of propane in garage! We grilled multiple nights & enjoyed fabulous dinners on patio overlooking marsh. Guess we picked the right week - no bugs! On several occasions multiple deer walked right past the deck on their marsh journey. Nice beach chairs in garage & more than enough quality beach towels available in laundry room! The property was everything as advertised & more! Would give 10 stars if option! Our favorite - the private upstairs deck off master bedroom over looking marsh! Deck had sunshine from early morning till 6pm every day! Only 2 minute walk to Yacht Club Deck at Marina to see the most brilliant sunsets! Recommend cart ride to East Beach after dark to see the brightest stars ever! We're building our own hose at Bald Head in next year but will only book Marsh Mellow for future visits until ours' is complete. Christina communicated by email & text before arrival. Darren (property mgr) checked in numerous times to make sure all was good. This was the most awesome week! Thank you again for sharing this special property!
