I would recommend that others avoid this hotel at all costs.Personel were abusive, vicious, accusitory, unreasoble and uncooperative in the most extreme manner possible. One female employee were afraid I was going to rape her and expressed that concern in the presence of other guests, the hotel was unapologetice for horrible customer service and refused to help me find my belongings their key problem caused my belongs to be in a room not designated by the front desk, I got no sleep and was greeted by sarcasm at best and viciousness when I expressed concern about my belongings. This is by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had.
A young man at check in was friendly and efficient, as a Spire member I was upgraded to a 2-queen suite on the second floor overlooking the outdoor pool. The suite was spacious, but quite dated and tired. The worst part was the sofa, which was totally worn out, when you sat on it, you literally fell into it. It was impossible to use for sitting, it should have been replaced years ago. The suite cleanliness could also have been better, especially the furniture could have been wiped and dustied much more thoroughly. Sleep quality was OK and the proximity of I-5 wasn't bothersome. We needed to have an early start as we were catching a boat out of Ventura, so we came down around 6:15 am, with posted breakfast time at 6:30 am. When we took coffee we noticed the breakfast attendant had just completed preparing and bringing things out as everything was ready and the attendant left and went into a room behind front desk. As the breakfast room lights were still off, I politely asked the front desk clerk if we could start breakfast a bit early, since everything was ready and we were on a tight schedule. Her reply was, "breakfast starts in 12 minutes, but items are available for grab". Not very hospitable. Had I been this clerk I would have said, "yes, of course, go ahead", and would go turn the lights on for my guests. When I am in the area next time I will continue to Bakersfield, many better IHG choices there.
We were driving to AZ and had limited choices . The ratings were great, but our experience was not great.. The room was hot and the fan was loud , the pillows were like an envelope, and the bed was bad.. It was clean and had an OK breakfast . $160.00 on Expedia was a fortune for this place in my opinion .
Girls road trip and we needed a place to stay along I-5. Check in staff was friendly and got us into our room quickly. The room was large with comfy beds and bath and body works toiletry items. Free breakfast was the best we had during our trip with lots of choices and plenty of fresh fruit. The pool was a bit cold but it was a hot day so it was refreshing. Hot tub was small but nice. The only complaint we had was room not having fridge or microwave which comes in handy when on the road.
Stayed one night at this hotel and was pleased with the clean room, pleasant staff, updated facilities, and the fact that it was quiet. I'm a light sleeper, so this is a priority for me. They also take pets, which was another priority, since I had my dog with me. I would definitely recommend a stay here.
Great place to stay when traveling from Bay Area to San Diego. Very near to I5 exit. Clean room, friendly staff, and amazing breakfast. Plenty of room for parking. Will consider this hotel again for stay.
We stayed at this location about two years ago and were thoroughly impressed. We had an immaculate corner suite, and the desk staff couldn't have been nicer. THIS time...a little bit different. We were traveling with our dog this time, so when I made our reservations I let the reservation people know that we would need a "pet room". The room we were given was on the ground floor, near the exit door which was convenient with our dog. The room itself was a little "worn", with carpet that needed cleaning, torn/stained furniture, and sheets that had seen better days. It was definitely NOT up to the standards of the room we had stayed in two years earlier. A few days later, on our return trip from SF we stayed here again - in the same room - and nothing had changed. The only difference this time was that my husband was hassled when he went to check us in. Because I had made the reservation, the desk clerk would not allow him to check us in. Even though he had done it just 4 days prior - with no problem - had the same last name, a copy of the reservation paperwork, the same credit card that was used to make the reservation, they refused. I was trying to stay off my leg due to a knee injury, but was forced to go to the front desk to take care of this. No explanation as to why he was allowed to register us one time, but not this time. NEITHER time when we checked in were we recognized as Priority Club members. The purpose of our trip was to visit our daughter in SF, and while we were up there we stayed in a Homewood Suites. A beautiful one bedroom suite with separate bedroom, full kitchen, dining area. living room, tennis court, pool, full breakfast and dinner included. Our suite was LESS EXPENSIVE than our run-down room at the Holiday Inn Express. Next time we make the trip from San Diego we'll try another hotel in the area.
clean room, housekeepers supplied us with all that we needed whenever we needed it, the breakfast was great and had everything, the front staff was wonderful....want to say thank you again to Rox and Katiee at the front desk who were amazing and let us know what to do and where to eat in town while we where there, they were fantastic. thank you guys again
We stayed here again making a move south and enjoyed the friendly staff and clean accommodations. There was plenty of room to park the u-haul and it was secure. Easy exit and access to freeway. Was a bit noisy when the ac was off but didn't matter if you left the fan on.
Staff and facilities were fine but the freeway noises of traffic on the Grapevine are loud and continuous. If you are a light sleeper you should avoid this motel. I doubt they get many return customers.
